Atom probe tomography analysis of nanostructure evolution in Ni-Cr-Mo low alloy steel under neutron irradiation

Ni-Cr-Mo low alloy steels are being considered as alternative materials to replace the Mn-Mo-Ni low alloy steels used in reactor pressure vessels in nuclear power plants, because of their higher strength and toughness. However, the neutron irradiation occurring during reactor operation causes degradation of Ni-Cr-Mo low alloy steel. In this study, irradiation-induced clusters in a Ni-Cr-Mo model alloy irradiated in the High-flux advanced neutron application reactor (HANARO) research reactor were investigated via Atom probe tomography (APT). The irradiated specimens showed irradiation-induced hardening and embrittlement. The neutron irradiation caused Si clustering, and these spherical clusters were homogeneously distributed within the matrix. Ni was also clustered at the Si clusters. However, the other elements did not clearly exhibit clustering behavior. Si and Ni atoms were also located at the dislocations. To quantify the nano-sized clusters, a method based on the Density-based spatial clustering of applications with noise (DBSCAN) algorithm was implemented. The total number of clusters was calculated to be ~7 × 10 -4 n/nm 3 and the average cluster radius was less than 2 nm. The APT approach was demonstrated to be well suited for discovering the irradiation defect structures.

JIT (Just-In-Time) 구매방식과 가격 할인이 있는 EOQ구매방식의 재고비용에 대한 경제적 분석

This study deals with a comparison of inventory costs between economic order quantity (EOQ) model and Just-In-Time (JIT). The EOQ system is beneficial to purchaser in terms of quantity discount. However, The JIT system has an advantage of the facility size reduction that occurs in the inventory storage and production areas. As a quantity discount scheme of the EOQ system, we consider both an all-unit and an incremental quantity discount with multiple price breaks. It shows that JIT is the preferred method at low levels of demand, whereas EOQ has the cost advantage with a high demand. We also present that the JIT method becomes more attractive and effective when the value of the price, inventory holding, or ordering cost associated with the EOQ model and facility cost reduction of JIT is higher and the quantity discount rate is lover.

(비)개념주의를 위한 개념 세우기 ‒(비)개념주의 논쟁에서 새로운 개념성 기준의 제시와 그 철학적 의의‒

The debate on whether the perceptual content is conceptual or not becomes one of major issues in philosophy of perception. Conceptualists insist perceptual content must be conceptual for justification of perceptual belief and correlation between perception and concept. According to them, non-conceptual content of perception is nothing more than the Myth of the Given which needs to be overcome in philosophy. Meanwhile, some philosophers support non-conceptualism because (they thought) perception is much primitive cognitive activity and concept- independent. This article aims to present ‘sortal concept’ as a new criterion of ‘concept’ which has been neglected by established discussions, and set up (non)conceptualism debate more clearly. Unless the meaning of ‘being conceptual’ is clear in the debate on conceptuality of perceptual content, it would likely result merely verbal dispute. It’s correct to determine the concept’s criteria as a sortal concept and sortal terms shared by users in language community. Sortal concept is a standard defining certain objects according to their properties or character and, according to that standard, subjects specify the nature of objects. The assertion that perceptual content is conceptual amounts to say that an object is already defined by sortal terms right at the process of perception. And this corresponds to ‘sortalism’ defined by E. J. Lowe. 지각 내용이 개념적인지에 관한 논쟁은 지각 철학의 주요한 논쟁 중 하나로 자리매김했다. 개념주의자들은 지각적 믿음의 정당화와 지각의 개념 연관성을 들어 지각 내용은 개념적이어야 한다고 주장한다. 이들에 따르면, 비개념적 소여는 극복되어야 할 신화에 불과하다. 한편, 일군의 철학자들은 지각이 보다 원초적인 인지 활동이라는 점과 지각이 개념 독립적이라는 점을 들어 비개념주의를 지지한다. 본고는 이러한 개념주의 논쟁에서 기존의 논의들이 주목하지 않았던 ‘개념’의 새로운 기준으로 “분류적 개념(sortal concept)”를 제시하고 (비)개념주의 논쟁을 보다 명확하게 재정립하고자 한다. 인식 내용의 개념성을 다투는 논쟁에서 ‘개념’, 혹은 ‘개념적임’의 의미가 명확하지 않다면, 이는 단순히 언어적인 논쟁으로의 귀결을 피할 수 없기 때문이다. ‘개념’의 기준은 특정한 언어 공동체에서 통용되는 분류적 개념과 분류어라고 보는 것이 적합하다. 분류적 개념은 특정한 사물의 속성이나 성질을 바탕으로 정의하는 기준이며, 주체는 그것이 속한 종에 따라 사물의 본질을 상세화한다. 지각 내용이 개념적이라고 주장하는 것은 지각 단계에서 사물이 이미 분류어를 통해 정의된다고 말하는 것과 같다. 그리고 이는 로우가 정의한 “분류주의(sortalism)”에 상응한다.

Multilevel modeling of diametral creep in pressure tubes of Korean CANDU units

In this work, we applied a multilevel modeling technique to estimate the diametral creep in the pressuretubes of Korean Canada Deuterium Uranium (CANDU) units. Data accumulated from in-service inspections were used to develop the model. To confirm the strength of the multilevel models, a 2-levelmultilevel model considering the relationship between channels for a CANDU unit was comparedwith existing linear models. The multilevel model exhibited a very robust prediction accuracy comparedto the linear models with different data pooling methods. A 3-level multilevel model, which consideredindividual bundles, channels, and units, was also implemented. The influence of the channel installationdirection was incorporated into the three-stage multilevel model. For channels that were previouslymeasured, the developed 3-level multilevel model exhibited a very good predictive power, and theprediction interval was very narrow. However, for channels that had never been measured before, theprediction interval widened considerably. This model can be sufficiently improved by the accumulationof more data and can be applied to other CANDU units

모바일 지불결제에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구:혁신 특성 요인을 중심으로

We are presently in the midst of a global telecommunication revolution. A powerful confluence of technological, economic and social forces is leading to rapid change in the capabilities, price and performance of telecommunications services. One of the areas of electronic commerce that is rapidly expanding is mobile commerce. Electronic payment is an important issue of electronic commerce. Secure electronic payment will not only make purchasing activities more convenient and flexible but also create an unimaginable new era of business. Due to the advance of mobile network technologies, mobile personal devices are used to perform electronic payment. The purpose of this study was to examine casual relationship among complexity, compatability, universality, relative advantage, trust, security, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, behavioral intention to use TAM model. The research model consists of exogenous variables(complexity, compatability, universality, relative advantage, trust, security) and endogenous variables(perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, behavioral intention to use). The analysis results revealed that compatibility, complexity, relative advantage, universality, security are significant factors influencing perceived ease of use and relative advantage, reliability, universality are significant factors influencing perceived usefulness. Perceived ease of use is a significant factor influencing perceived usefulness and behavioral intention to use, perceived usefulness is a significant factor influencing behavioral intention to use. Mobile payment firms will support different and innovative mobile payment services through continuous measurement and improvement using this model based on TAM model. 본 연구에서는 TAM(기술수용모형)을 바탕으로 모바일 지불결제를 수용하는 데 있어서 실제 사용에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 혁신 특성 요인(복잡성, 적합성, 보편성, 상대적 이익, 신뢰성, 보안성)이 유용성과 사용의 용이성에 어떻게 영향을 미치는가를 연구하였다. 구조방정식 모형을 통한 실증분석 결과, 모바일 지불결제의 혁신 특성 중에서 적합성, 복잡성, 상대적 이익, 보편성, 보안성은 사용의 용이성에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 상대적 이익, 신뢰성, 보편성은 유용성에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 사용의 용이성은 지각된 유용성과 행위의도에, 유용성은 행위의도에 매우 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 모바일 지불결제 사용의 급증과 함께 모바일 지불결제 시장규모가 더욱 확대됨에 따라 모바일 지불결제 서비스를 제공하고 있는 기업이나 통신사는 사용자 중심의 경쟁력 있는 차별화되고 혁신적인 모바일 지급결제 서비스를 제공하여야 할 것이다. 따라서 이를 위해서는 TAM 모형에 기반한 모바일 지불결제 수용모형을 개발하여 우수한 서비스를 제공할 수 있는 지속적인 평가와 개선이 이루어져야 할 것이다.

The Moderating Effects of Perceived Supervisor's Power and Negative Affectivity on the Relationship between Abusive Supervision and Employees' Workplace Deviance

In this study, the roles of perceived supervisor's power and negative affectivity as moderators between abusive supervision and employee's workplace deviance were examined. To examine those relationships, 4 hypotheses were developed and tested. The results of an empirical study using survey data from 205 employees of hospital organizations showed that the effect of abusive supervision on supervisor-directed deviant behavior and organizational deviant behavior were found to be weaker when subordinates perceived their supervisor’s power to be high. However, the interactions between abusive supervision and negative affectivity on supervisor-directed deviance and organizational deviance were not significant. Implications, limitations and directions for future research are discussed in the discussion and conclusion sections.
