The effect of electric current pulses on a sub-100 nm magnetic bubble state in a symmetric Pt/Co multilayer was directly observed using a full-field transmission soft X-ray microscope (MTXM). Field-induced evolution of the magnetic stripe domains into isolated bubbles with their sizes down to 100 nm was imaged under varying external magnetic fields. Electric current pulses were then applied to the created magnetic bubbles, and it was observed that the bubbles could be either created or annihilated by the current pulse depending on the strength of applied magnetic field. The results suggest that the Joule heating plays a critical role in the formation and/or elimination of the bubbles and skyrmions. Finally, the schematic phase diagram for the creation and annihilation of bubbles is presented, suggesting an optimized scheme with the combination of magnetic field and electric current necessary to utilize skyrmions in the practical devices.

Domain wall (DW) skyrmion is another type of skyrmion that resides inside the magnetic DW. It is topologically equivalent to conventional magnetic skyrmions. This topological equivalence arouses scientific and technological interest in the possibility of exploiting the DW skyrmion in spintronic devices. Although the creation scheme for conventional skyrmions has been well established, the method of creating DW skyrmions has been lacking as it is a novel type of spin texture proposed only recently. In this study, we propose a simple way of creating DW skyrmion using magnetic fields. Micromagnetic simulations show that pulsed in-plane magnetic fields can generate DW skyrmions. 자구벽 스커미온이란 자구벽 내부에 존재하는 또 다른 유형의 스커미온으로 기존의 자기 스커미온과 위상적으로 동일하다. 이러한 위상적 동일성은 스핀트로닉스 소자에 이용될 가능성으로 말미암아 과학적 기술적 관심을 불러 일으키고 있다. 기존 스커미온의 생성 방법은 다양하게 연구되어져 왔음에 반해, 자구벽 스커미온은 최근 제안된 스핀 구조로 그 생성 방법에 대해서는 연구가 부족한 상황이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 자기장을 이용해 자구벽 스커미온을 생성하는 간단한 방법을 제안한다. 미소자기전산모사 결과는 수평 자기장 펄스 인가를 통해 자구벽 스커미온을 생성할 수 있음을 보여준다.
