        공공도서관 모바일 웹 서비스 접근성 평가에 관한 연구

        이 연구에서는 모바일 웹 서비스를 제공하는 공공도서관을 대상으로 국제 웹 표준 기구 W3C에서 만든 웹 접근성 평가도구인 모바일OK 검사를 실시하여 공공도서관 모바일 웹 서비스의 웹 접근성을 평가하였다. 모바일OK 검사 실시가 가능한 81개 공공도서관에 대해 모바일OK 검사를 실시하고 W3C에서 제정한 모바일 웹 모범사례를 바탕으로 이를 분석하였다. 분석된 결과를 바탕으로 공공도서관 모바일 웹 서비스 확대 및 개선을 위하여 지방자치단체와 지방교육청의 정책적 지원, 웹 표준에 맞는 모바일 웹 서비스 설계, 웹 설계 과정에서 유해요소 제거, 가벼운 모바일 웹 문서 제작, 분산되어 연결된 여러 개별 파일들의 합병 등의 방안을 제시하였다. The purpose of this study was to conduct the mobile OK test which means the web accessibility evaluation tool and to evaluate the public libraries' mobile web services. For this purpose, 81 public libraries were tested and analysed in Mobile Web Best Practices presented by W3C. The results of this study indicate the following several strategies: Support by local governments and provincial education offices, Design mobile web services corresponding with web standards, Removal of harmful elements in the web design process, Making simple mobile web documents, A merger of individual files. The findings of this study expect to expand and improve the public library mobile web services for future.

        Radiologic Findings of Local Effect of Right Adrenal Pheochromocytoma on the Adjacent Liver: A Case Report

        We report the radiological findings of regional enhancement of the liver adjacent to the right adrenal pheochromocytoma. CT and MRI showed focal strong enhancement of adjacent liver tissue in the arterial phase. However during the delayed phase, the lesion showed iso-attenuation with normal hepatic parenchyma and not delineated. The lesion did not show abnormal signal intensity on neither T1 nor T2 weighted images and indistinguishable from normal parenchyma. The enhancing hepatic lesion was spontaneously regressed on postoperative follow up CT which was taken several months after the adrenalectomy.

        Feasibility of Commercially Available, Fully Automated Hepatic CT Volumetry for Assessing Both Total and Territorial Liver Volumes in Liver Transplantation

        Purpose: To assess the feasibility of commercially-available, fully automated hepatic CT volumetry for measuring both total and territorial liver volumes by comparing with interactive manual volumetry and measured ex-vivo liver volume. Materials and Methods: For the assessment of total and territorial liver volume, portal phase CT images of 77 recipients and 107 donors who donated right hemiliver were used. Liver volume was measured using both the fully automated and interactive manual methods with Advanced Liver Analysis® software. The quality of the automated segmentation was graded on a 4-point scale. Grading was performed by two radiologists in consensus. For the cases with excellent-to-good quality, the accuracy of automated volumetry was compared with interactive manual volumetry and measured ex-vivo liver volume which was converted from weight using analysis of variance test and Pearson’s or Spearman correlation test. Processing time for both automated and interactive manual methods was also compared. Results: Excellent-to-good quality of automated segmentation for total liver and right hemiliver was achieved in 57.1% (44/77) and 17.8% (19/107), respectively. For both total and right hemiliver volumes, there were no significant differences among automated, manual, and ex-vivo volumes except between automate volume and manual volume of the total liver (p = 0.011). There were good correlations between automate volume and ex-vivo liver volume (γ= 0.637 for total liver and γ= 0.767 for right hemiliver). Both correlation coefficients were higher than those with manual method. Fully automated volumetry required significantly less time than interactive manual method (total liver: 48.6 sec vs. 53.2 sec, right hemiliver: 182 sec vs. 244.5 sec). Conclusion: Fully automated hepatic CT volumetry is feasible and time-efficient for total liver volume measurement. However, its usefulness for territorial liver volumetry needs to be improved.

        Metal Artifact Reduction for Orthopedic Implants: Brain CT Angiography in Patients with Intracranial Metallic Implants

        Background: The purpose of this study was to qualitatively and quantitatively evaluate the effects of a metal artifact reduction for orthopedic implants (O-MAR) for brain computed tomographic angiography (CTA) in patients with aneurysm clips and coils. Methods: The study included 36 consecutive patients with 47 intracranial metallic implants (42 aneurysm clips, 5 coils) who underwent brain CTA. The computed tomographic images with and without the O-MAR were independently reviewed both quantitatively and qualitatively by two reviewers. For quantitative analysis, image noises near the metallic implants of non-O-MAR and O-MAR images were compared. For qualitative analysis, image quality improvement and the presence of new streak artifacts were assessed. Results: Image noise was significantly reduced near metallic implants (P < 0.01). Improvement of implant-induced streak artifacts was observed in eight objects (17.0%). However, streak artifacts were aggravated in 11 objects (23.4%), and adjacent vessel depiction was worsened in eight objects (17.0%). In addition, new O-MAR-related streak artifacts were observed in 32 objects (68.1%). New streak artifacts were more prevalent in cases with overlapping metallic implants on the same axial plane than in those without (P = 0.018). Qualitative assessment revealed that the overall image quality was not significantly improved in O-MAR images. Conclusion: In conclusion, the use of the O-MAR in patients with metallic implants significantly reduces image noise. However, the degree of the streak artifacts and surrounding vessel depiction were not significantly improved on O-MAR images.

        Non-Motor Symptom Burdens Are Not Associated with Iron Accumulation in Early Parkinson's Disease: a Quantitative Susceptibility Mapping Study

        Background: Quantitative susceptibility mapping (QSM) has been used to measure iron accumulation in the deep nuclei of patients with Parkinson's disease (PD). This study examined the relationship between non-motor symptoms (NMSs) and iron accumulation in the deep nuclei of patients with PD. Methods: The QSM data were acquired from 3-Tesla magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in 29 patients with early PD and 19 normal controls. The Korean version of the NMS scale (K-NMSS) was used for evaluation of NMSs in patients. The patients were divided into high NMS and low NMS groups. The region-of-interest analyses were performed in the following deep nuclei: red nucleus, substantia nigra pars compacta, substantia nigra pars reticulata, dentate nucleus, globus pallidus, putamen, and head of the caudate nucleus. Results: Thirteen patients had high NMS scores (total K-NMSS score, mean = 32.1), and 16 had low NMS scores (10.6). The QSM values in the deep were not different among the patients with high NMS scores, low NMS scores, and controls. The QSM values were not correlated linearly with K-NMSS total score after adjusting the age at acquisition of brain MRI. Conclusion: The study demonstrated that the NMS burdens are not associated with iron accumulation in the deep nuclei of patients with PD. These results suggest that future neuroimaging studies on the pathology of NMSs in PD should use more specific and detailed clinical tools and recruit PD patients with severe NMSs.

        Metabolic loading of guanosine induces chondrocyte apoptosis via the Fas pathway

        Although the apoptosis of chondrocytes plays an important role in endochondral ossification, its mechanism has not been elucidated. In this study, we show that guanosine induces chondrocyte apop - tosis based on the results of acridine orange/ ethidium bromide staining, caspase-3 activation, and sub-G1 fraction analysis. The potent inhibitory effect of dipyridamole, a nucleoside transporter blocker, indicates that extracellular guanosine must enter the chondrocytes to induce apoptosis. We found that guanosine promotes Fas-Fas ligand interaction which, in turn, leads to chondrocyte apoptosis. These findings indicate a novel mechanism for endochondral ossification via metabolic regulation.
