Since the 2000s, energy transition emerged as a global policy priority in response to the exacerbating effects of climate change. Community energy initiatives (or energy self-reliant villages) have gained attention as a form of local energy transition in which residents take the initiative to generate and distribute self-sufficient energy. This study analyzed 16 qualitative peer-reviewed articles(case studies) published between 2014 and 2023 to explore the enabling factors of sustainable community energy initiatives in South Korea via qualitative meta-aggregation. Qualitative metaaggregation analyzes individual qualitative studies on similar topics to synthesize the results and expand the interpretation of individual studies. As a result of the analysis, 17 descriptive themes related to the sustainability of community energy initiatives were extracted, and eight sub-themes were derived by synthesizing them, and finally, they were synthesized into five core themes. The most important enabling factor of community energy initiatives are resident-led energy community activities. The second enabling factor is collaborative governance with local governments and intermediary support organizations. The third enabling factor is financial revenue generated and reaped by the residents. The fourth enabling factor is awareness and shared behavioral norms. The fifth is energy citizenship for energy transition. The results of the study provide policy implications for community energy initiatives, and furthermore, successful local energy transition policies in South Korea.

Inductively coupled Cl$_{2}$ plasma has been studied to etch Pt thin films, which hardly form volatile compound with any reactive gas at normal process temperature. Low etch rate and residue problems are frequently observed. For higher etch rate, high density plasma and higher process temperature is adopted observed. For higher etch rate, high density plasma and higher process temperature is adopted and thus SiO$_{2}$ is used as for patterning mask instead of photoresist. The effect of O$_{2}$ or Ar addition to Cl$_{2}$ was investigated, and the chamber pressure, gas flow rate, surce RF power and bias RF power are also varied to check their effects on etch rate and selectivity. The major etching mechanism is the physical sputtering, but the ion assisted chemical raction is also found to be a big factor. The proposs can be optimized to obtain the etch rate of Pt up to 200nm/min and selectivity to SiO$_{2}$ at 2.0 or more. Patterning of submicron Pt lines are successfully demonstrated.

Obesity is viewed as a serious public health problem. This study aimed to investigate the antiobesity effects of fermented garlic extract by lactic acid bacteria (LAFGE) on obesity. Male C57BL/6J mice were fed with high-fat diet (HFD) to induce obesity. TheHFD-induced obesemicewere orally administrated with 250 or 500mg/kg LAFGE for 8 weeks. Feeding HFD-fed mice with 250 or 500mg/kg LAFGE reduced body weight by 14% and 18%, respectively, compared to HFD. HFD-fed mice with 500mg/kg LAFGE administration had lower epididymal, retroperitoneal, and mesenteric adipose tissue mass by 36%, 44%, and 63%, respectively, compared to HFD.The concentration of plasma triacylglyceride and total cholesterolwas significantly lower in theHFD-fed mice withLAFGE administration.Moreover,LAFGEsupplementation suppressed adipogenesis by downregulation in mRNA and protein expression of PPARγ, C/EBPα, and lipogenic proteins, including SREBP-1c, FAS, and SCD-1. Based on these findings, LAFGE may ameliorate diet-induced obesity by inhibiting adipose tissue hypertrophy by suppressing adipogenesis.
