In this study, the overall performance and the local flow field of the centrifugal compressor with the refrigerant HFC-l34a were numerically studied using CFX-TASCflow. The thermodynamic and transport properties of the refrigerant gas were modeled by REFPROP which is NIST refrigerant properties database. The impacts of a grid qualify, discretization scheme, turbulent model and interaction between a impeller and a cascade diffuser were analyzed comparatively. The results were compared with experimental data and 1-D design results using COMPAL and agreed well with others. The numerical method and data obtained in this study can be applied to the design and modification of centrifugal compressors with real gases

The axial fans for cooling condenser were designed by inverse design code TURBOdesign-1. The parameters of the inverse design were set by DOE(design of experiments). By changing the design parameters, such as the distribution of the blade loading, the spanwise circulation distribution and the stacking, 32 different fan designs were created. The overall performances and the local flow fields of these fans were computed by using a commercial CFD code. The results of the CFDcomputations were analyzed by DOE. The pressure rise and the efficiency were selected as the main responses and the main effects of the design parameters onthe responses were discussed. These procedures give a good way for the screening the parameters and the optimum design.

과다 폐색전증, 심실중격결손과다 폐색전증(massive pulmonary thromboembolism)은 빠른 치료가 사망률을 낮출 수 있기 때문에 폐색전증 중에서도 초기에 진단하는 것이 중요하다. 그러나 환자의 여러 요인으로 인해 폐색전증은 다른 양상의 혈역학적 효과를 보일 수있으므로 초기 진단이 어려울 수 있으며, 이는 사망률을 높이게 될 수 있다. 저자 등은 72세 여자 환자에서 2개월 전부터 서서히 악화된 호흡곤란을 급성 관동맥 증후군으로 생각하여 검사를 진행하였으나, 결과적으로는 흉부 전산화 단층 촬영을 통해 과다 폐색전증을 진단하였다. 폐색전증 환자에서 일반적 병태생리와 다른 경우에는 심실중격결손의 합병유무에 대해서도 염두에 둘 필요가 있을 것으로 보인다. 저자 등은 72세 여자 환자에서 심실중격결손에 의해 숨겨졌던과다 폐색전증의 증례를 경험하였기에 문헌 고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다. Patients with massive pulmonary embolism may present with severe dyspnea at rest, syncope, or cardiac arrest. Early diagnosis and treatment are essential to reduce mortality; however, patient-specific factors can influence the hemodynamic effect of pulmonary embolism. Here, we present a case of massive pulmonary embolism masked by a ventricular septal defect in a 73-year-old female. (Korean J Med 2015;89:85-90)

Due to the deployment problem of the IP Multicast service, the Application Layer Multicast (or Overlay Multicast) has appeared as an alternative of the IP Multicast. However, even though plenty of the Application Layer Multicast (ALM) Protocols were designed and their applications were developed according to the diverse requirements of each multicast service, researches on the ALM Protocols are focused on only a protocol design or an efficient multicast group management algorithm. And there is little effort to provide a unified guideline for development of the ALM Protocols and provide an environment for running multiple protocols simultaneously in a system. In this paper, we propose socket APIs to be a reference in developing new ALM Protocols which enables a system to support multiple protocols in a system with other ALM Protocols and which gives an environment to support efficient protocol management.

The effects impeller groove on the performance of regenerative type fuel pump were numerically studied by commercial CFD code(ANSYS CFX-10). To examine the effects of impeller groove, the shapes of the side channel and impeller groove were simplified. The blade angle(inlet/outlet), thickness of a vane and angle between inlet and outlet were selected as the main parameters for the impeller groove. The flow blockages between channel and impeller groove were caused by the thickness of the vane and shape of the groove. The internal flow characteristics of the new model were changed and its overall performance was improved than the existing model.
역설계 방법을 적용한 사류펌프의 임펠러 및 디퓨저 설계

The impeller and vane diffuser for the mixed flow pump(NS550) was designed by using meridional selection program and inverse design method. We decided the meridional shape of the impeller from the meridional design parameter, such as the specific speed and maximum diameter at the impeller exit. The meridional shape of vane diffuser was set from the impeller shape, distribution of cross sectional area and maximum diffuser diameter. The angle of impeller blade and diffuser vane was designed by using inverse design method. The predicted overall performance by using commercial CFD code(ANSYS CFX-11) shown good agreement with design goals.

In this study, a sirocco fan was designed by traditional design method, DOE (design of experiments) and CFD. Several design parameters, such as blade angle, volute width, volute expansion angle, impeller meridional shape, impeller width, etc, were set up. The measured performance curve of the basic design model was compared with predicted results for the validation of numerical models. To change the slope of the fan performance curve, volute expansion angle, tongue angle and expansion angle of the volute discharge part were selected as design variables. As a result, the final design model gives a lower maximum discharge flow rate as compared to the basic model. The steep characteristic of the performance curve is favorable for the design of motors in the constant air volume fan.
