        Technology-based self-management interventions for women with breast cancer: a systematic review

        Purpose: Since technology-based interventions can facilitate convenient access to healthcare for women with breast cancer, it is crucial to understand innovative approaches to maintaining the effectiveness of these interventions. Therefore, we conducted a systematic review of technology-based self-management interventions for women with breast cancer in six countries. We analyzed the characteristics of these interventions and examined their diverse health outcomes.Methods: Six databases were systematically searched to extract research articles using the keywords “breast cancer,” “technology,” and “self-management.” The search was carried out up until June 12, 2023. From the 1,288 studies retrieved from the database search, 10 eligible papers were identified based on inclusion/exclusion criteria. Two authors independently extracted and compared the data from these articles, resolving any discrepancies through discussion.Results: Most of the 10 studies utilized web- or mobile-based technology, and one used artificial intelligence-based technology. Among the 12 health-related outcome variables, quality of life and symptom distress were the most frequently mentioned, appearing in six articles. Furthermore, an analysis of the intervention programs revealed a variety of common constructs and the involvement of managers in the self-management intervention.Conclusion: Incorporating key components such as self-management planning, diary keeping, and communication support in technology-based interventions could significantly improve the self-management process for breast cancer survivors. The practical application of technology has the potential to empower women diagnosed with breast cancer and improve their overall quality of life, by providing timely and sustainable interventions, and by leveraging available resources and tools.

        Decision-Making Experience of Re-Employment at Other Hospitals among Newly Graduated Nurses

        This study aimed to explore the decision-making process underlying re-employment at another hospital after resignation among newly graduated nurses. Nine nurses who voluntarily resigned within a year after graduating from nursing, obtaining a license and getting their first job at a general hospital were included. Data of the working area, period from resignation to re-employment and number of re-employment were collected via purposive sampling. Face-to-face interviews were conducted from January 5, 2021, to February 16, 2021. Data collection and analysis were performed simultaneously using the Colaizzi’s phenomenological method. The decision-making process for re-employment among newly graduated nurses was based on significant statements, which had 33 themes, 14 theme clusters and 4 categories. The 4 categories were intolerable hospital life, continuous inner conflict, compromise with reality and considering re-employment again. To provide newly graduated nurses with desirable decision-making opportunities for resignation, a support system should be developed and implemented to gain insights into the process they go through after resignation.

        장루를 보유한 대장암 여성의 자아존중감, 성의사소통이 성만족에 미치는 영향

        Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the influence of self-esteem and sexual communication on sexual satisfaction among female colorectal cancer patients with ostomy. Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted using self-reported online questionnaires. The participants were 85 women with colorectal cancer who had undergone ostomy formation surgery. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, the t-test, analysis of variance, the Scheffé test, correlation coefficients, and hierarchical multiple regression with SPSS version 26.0. Results: The mean sexual satisfaction score was 2.79±0.73 (range, 0~5). There was no significant relationship between self-esteem and sexual satisfaction. Sexual communication had a significant correlation with sexual satisfaction (r=.83, p<.001) and was a strong predictor of sexual satisfaction (β=.83, p<.001). Conclusion: The findings of this study indicate that colorectal cancer patients with ostomy experience low sexual satisfaction and that sexual communication is a meaningful factor for sexual satisfaction. Accordingly, nurses need to factor in sexual issues when caring for patients, and should encourage both patients and their partners to participate in education related to sexual health. It will also be helpful to inform patients about the importance of sexual communication with their partners as a sustainable intervention.

        글로벌 의제에 나타난 교육 성평등 이슈: 교육개발협력에 대한 시사점을 중심으로

        본 연구는 교육 성평등 제고를 위하여 글로벌 의제에 나타난 교육 성평등 관련 내용을 분석하여 교육개발협력에 대한 시사점을 도출하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 성평등과 관련된 대표적인 의제인 여성차별철폐협약(1979) 및 북경행동강령(1995)과 대표적인 개발협력의제인 MDGs(2000), SDGs(2015) 총 4개의 글로벌 의제를 분석하였다. 분석결과 첫째, 국제사회의 글로벌 의제는 여성의 교육기회의 확대에서 나아가 교육 내 성평등 제고를 강조하는 방향으로 쟁점이 전환되고 있는 것을 확인하였다. 둘째, 교육 성평등의 이슈가 다양화, 세분화되어 교육기회, 교육제도, 교육과정, 교육시설 등 다양한 교육 성평등 이슈가 의제로 포함되었다. 셋째, 교육 성평등을 위해 구조적인 변화를 추구하는 것으로 강조점이 전환되었다. 이러한 분석결과를 토대로 교육개발협력을 위한 시사점을 도출하였다.

        Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore the differences among social comparison orientation, depression, and self-esteem by patterns of using Facebook among Facebook users’ in their 20s. Methods: The participants in this descriptive study were 332 Facebook users in their 20s. Data collection took place between August 21 and 27, 2014. Questionnaires were the Iowa–Netherlands Comparison Orientation Measure (revised), Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale, and Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale. Data were statistically analyzed using t-tests and ANOVAs. Result: Each mean score of social comparison, depression, and self-esteem was 26.04±6.82, 31.39±8.99 and 38.05±6.19. Significant differences emerged between the degree of social comparison and the following Facebook usage variables: average single-connection time to Facebook (F=3.570, p=.007) and self-evaluation of Facebook usage behavior (F=6.203, p<.001). Conclusion: The results of this study suggested that Facebook users in their 20s who access Facebook for long periods and assess themselves as using it more often had a high score of comparison orientation. This result can be used in Nursing by developing the theoretical basis for education and campaign related to Facebook usage. In-depth studies are needed for research on the effect social comparison has on Facebook users and relationships between social comparison and emotions.

        스마트폰·인터넷 중독과 우울, 공격성, 사회적 관계, 학교폭력 경험 간의 다중집단 경로 분석

        According to upsurge in the issues of students’ smartphone-internet addiction, this study aims to suggest policy implications based on the empirical results of harmful effects derived from smartphone-internet addiction on school violence. Thus, this study analyzed relations between elementary and middle school students’ smartphone-internet addiction and mental health, their effects on school violence experiences, and the mediating effects of social relationships. Participants were 573 elementary school students in 5th grade (271 females, 297 males, 5 no response), and 637 middle school students in junior year (126 females, 510 males, 5 no response). This study measured smartphone-internet addiction, depression, aggression·impulsiveness, social relationships, school violence experiences, and analyzed the relations among those factors. The results showed high associations among smartphone-internet addiction, depression, and aggression·impulsiveness, as well as effects of those factors on social relationships and school violence experiences. Also, the results revealed the mediating roles of friends and teachers between mental health and school violence. This study suggests the importance of enhancing mental health to prevent smartphone-internet addiction, as well as of making integrative policies against smartphone-internet addiction and school violence. 본 연구는 학생들의 스마트폰·인터넷 이용이 급증함에 따라 스마트폰·인터넷 사용이 학교폭력에 미치는 유해한 영향을 실증적으로 분석하여 정책적 시사점을 제안하고자 실시되었다. 이를 위해 초등학생과 중학생의 스마트폰·인터넷 중독과 정신건강의 관계 및 이들이 학교폭력 경험에 미치는 영향과 사회적 관계의 매개효과를 비교·분석하였다. 본 연구는 대도시와 중소도시의 초등학교 13개교, 중학교 11개교가 참여하여 초등학교 5학년 573명(여학생 271명, 남학생 297명, 무응답 5명), 중학교 2학년 637명(여학생 125명, 남학생 510명, 무응답 2명)이 응답하였다. 사용된 척도는 스마트폰·인터넷 중독, 우울, 충동성·공격성, 사회적 관계(가족관계, 친구관계, 교사관계), 학교폭력 경험(가해경험, 피해경험)이고, 이들의 관계는 부분매개 모형을 통해 분석되었다. 분석결과, 초등학생과 중학생의 스마트폰·인터넷 중독과 정신건강과 관련된 우울 및 공격성·충동성 간의 높은 관련성이 나타났고, 이들은 각각 사회적 관계와 학교폭력 경험에 직·간접적으로 영향을 미쳤다. 또한 친구관계와 교사관계는 스마트폰·인터넷 중독으로 유발되는 피해를 부분적으로 매개조절하는 역할을 하였다. 이 결과를 통해 초등학생과 중학생의 스마트폰·인터넷 중독을 예방하기 위해서는 학생들의 정신건강을 강화하고, 스마트폰 ·인터넷 중독 예방과 학교폭력 예방의 통합적 정책적 논의의 필요성을 제안하였다.

        자기보고와 또래지명을 활용한 공격성 수준별 유형의 학교적응과심리적 특성 탐색

        The purpose of this research was to compare the distribution of aggressiveness levels in elementary, middle, and high school students and to explore whether there are differences in school adjustment, positive psychology, and negative psychology based on aggressiveness level groups. For this research purpose, three research questions were addressed. First, what is the distribution of aggressiveness level in elementary, middle, and high school students? Second, are there any differences in school adjustment, positive psychology, and negative psychology among school levels? Third, are there any interaction effects of aggressiveness level and school levels on school adjustment, positive psychology, and negative psychology? In this research study, data of 3179 participants was derived from 2017 ClassNet program data base. The results of this study are as follows: First, peer-nominated aggressive group and high aggressive group were significantly reduced in high school compared to elementary and middle school. Second, self-reported aggressive students perceived themselves negatively and had difficulties in school adjustment compared to non-aggressive students or peer-nomination aggressive students. Lastly, the results of the interaction analysis between aggressiveness level and school level showed an interaction effect in behavioral participation, morality, empathy, self-control, and negative emotion. 이 연구의 목적은 자기보고와 또래지명을 토대로 초, 중, 고등학생의 공격성 수준별 유형 분포를 비교하고, 유형에 따른 학교적응, 긍정 및 부정심리에 차이가 있는지를 탐색하는 것이다. 연구문제는 첫째, 초, 중, 고등학생의 공격성 수준별 유형 분포는 어떠한가? 둘째, 학교급별로 공격성 수준별 유형에 따른 학교적응, 긍정 및 부정심리에는 차이가 있는가? 셋째, 학교적응, 긍정 및 부정심리에 대한 공격성 수준별 유형과 학교급의 상호작용 효과가 있는가? 이다. 2017년도에 클래스넷 프로그램에 포함된 초, 중, 고등학교 학생 3,179명의 데이터를 분석하였고, 주요 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 또래지명 공격성집단과 높은 공격성집단의 비율이 초등학교와 중학교에 비해 고등학교에서 감소하였다. 반면 자기보고에 의해 공격적이라고 확인된 집단 비율은 중·고등학교에서 오히려 증가하였다. 둘째, 자신을 스스로 공격적이라고 생각하는 학생들이 비공격성집단이나 또래지명 공격성집단에 비해 대체로 자신에 대해 부정적으로 인식하고 학교적응에도 문제가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 공격성 수준별 집단유형과 학교급의 상호작용분석결과, 행동적 참여, 도덕성, 공감, 자기조절, 부정정서에서 상호작용효과가 나타났다.

        초등학생의 공격성 유형에 따른 잠재집단 분류 및 심리사회적 특성 탐색

        Purpose: The purpose of this study was to classify latent groups of grade school children based on four aggression types and to test the psychosocial differences among those groups. Design/methodology/data/approach: The data used for this study was 1,641 (boys 772, girls 869) grade school children from the ClassNet program which was developed to diagnose peer relationships funded by the National Research Foundation of Korea. The self-report method was used to measure the functions of aggression, purposeful vs. reactive, and the peer nomination for the forms of aggression, overt vs. relational. Latent profile analysis was implemented to classify the children and multiple logistic regression to test the significance of psychosocial differences among the groups classified. Findings/ Results: The results indicated that three different latent groups were legitimate: ‘non-aggression’ group (81.6%, 1,339), ‘purposeful aggression’ group (11,5%, 188), and ‘combined aggression’ group (6.9%, 114). The findings showed that the higher the negative behavior score, the greater the possibility of being classified as ‘purposeful’ and ‘combined’ aggression groups. The higher the positive psychology and character score, the greater the possibility of being classified as ‘non-aggression’ group. Values: Aggression has many facets and different underlying mechanisms. Therefore, aggression prevention programs should have various approaches to reduce children's aggressive behavior properly. 본 연구는 공격성의 네 가지 유형을 기반으로 초등학생의 공격성을 잠재집단으로 분류하고, 각 집단이 심리사회적 특성에서 어떤 차이점이 있는지를 탐색하는 데 목적이 있다. 공격성의 기능에 따른 두 유형(목적적 공격성, 반응적 공격성)은 자기보고 방식으로, 공격성의 표현 형태에 따른 두 유형(외현적 공격성, 대인관계 공격성)은 또래지명 방식으로 측정하였다. 한국연구재단의 지원을 받아 개발된 또래관계 진단 프로그램인 클래스넷에 구축된 자료 중 초등학생 1,641명(남 772명, 여 869명)의 자료를 사용하였다. 잠재프로파일 분석을 이용하여 공격성을 분류한 결과 세 집단이 가장 적절한 것으로 나타났다. 공격성의 네 가지 유형을 근거로 ‘비공격형’ 집단(81.6%, 1,339명), ‘목적공격형’ 집단(11.5%, 188명), ‘혼합공격형’ 집단(6.9%, 114명)으로 분류하였다. 다항 로지스틱 회귀분석을 이용하여 심리 및 행동변인의 집단 차이를 검증한 결과, 대체로 부정행동 점수가 높을수록 ‘목적공격형’과 ‘혼합공격형’ 집단에 속할 확률이 높았고, 긍정심리 및 인성 점수가 높을수록 ‘비공격형’ 집단에 속할 확률이 높았다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 공격성 감소를 위한 예방적 접근의 필요성과 교육적 시사점을 논의하였다.

        Understanding the Teacher’s Self-efficacy and Middle School Classroom Social Dynamics

        The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between the teacher’s self-efficacy and classroom social dynamics in a middle-school setting. Seven middle-school classes were extracted from a larger dataset collected in 2017 as part of the ClassNet program. A total of seven homeroom teachers and 157 students in their classrooms were analyzed for this study. Peer nominations were used to measure classroom social dynamics, while a self-report measure was used to assess teacher self-efficacy both at the beginning and at the end of the first semester. This study found that students who were perceived as receiving the teacher’s positive support were more likely to be liked, perceived as popular, pro-social, defenders of bullied students, and leaders by their classmates. For classrooms where the teacher’s self-efficacy increased, popular students were likely to be considered as relationally aggressive at the beginning of the semester but by the end of the semester, this correlation was no longer significant. For classrooms where the teacher’s self-efficacy decreased over the semester, by the end of the semester, on average more students exhibited aggressive behavior and were victims of aggression. In contrast, for classrooms where the teacher’s self-efficacy increased over the semester, by the end of the semester, on average fewer students were considered to exhibit aggressive behaviors and were perceived as victims of aggression.
