With different seed adhesion methods, we obtained two different aspects with or without micro-bubble in the interface between a seed and a dense graphite seed holder. To improve the quality of SiC wafer, we introduced a sucrose caramelizing step at the seed adhesion using the sucrose, The n-type 2 inch single crystal exhibiting the polytype of 6H-SiC were successfully fabricated and carrier concentration levels of about $10^{16}/cm^3$ was determined from Hall measurements, As compared to the characteristics of SiC crystal grown with micro-bubble in the interface between the seed and the dense graphite seed holder, the SiC crystal grown without micro-bubble definitely exhibited lower resistivity, lower micropipe density and higher mobility relatively.
OECD QSAR Application Toolbox를 이용한 화학물질의 건강유해성 및 생태독성 예측

Objectives: The OECD QSAR Application Toolbox was developed by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) to facilitate the practical use of QSAR approaches in regulatory contexts as well as to reduce the need for additional animal testing. In this study, human health and the ecotoxicity of chemicals were predicted by applying the OECD QSAR Application Toolbox and the results were compared with experimental data in order to evaluate the applicability of this program. Methods: Read-across, trend analysis, and QSAR of OECD QSAR Application Toolbox were used for the prediction of toxicity. Results: The toxicity prediction was conducted on 6,354 chemicals for which toxicity data have been produced on the six endpoints of skin sensitization, skin irritation, eye irritation, mutagenicity, and acute toxicities of fish and Daphnia. From the total of 6,354, we obtained prediction results for 1,621 chemicals (25.5%). Conclusions: The predicted properties of mutagenicity, skin sensitization, and acute aquatic toxicities were reasonably good when compared with experimental data, but other endpoints were not due to the limitation of applicable chemical groups.

As concerns regarding water pollution grow, the need increases for a fast and accurate assessment of ecological risk. In this context, many studies have been conducted to identify biomarkers which can sensitively indicate exposure to and effects of various contaminants in a water environment. However, the utility of most such biomarkers in the real water environment is not yet validated. In this paper, we conducted a thorough review of publications that were related to developing or evaluating molecular and biochemical biomarkers of freshwater fish in ecological risk assessment, and evaluated whether these biomarkers of interest could link to the effects on higher biological levels, such as histopathology and above. Biomarkers of interest included those associated with metabolism, oxidative stress, reproduction and endocrine disruption, genotoxicity, and defense against heavy metal exposure. We found that, when used alone, most molecular and biochemical biomarkers are not sufficient to understand the effects of toxic substances in higher biological levels, due to defense or acclimation mechanisms of organisms. Moreover, some biomarkers respond not only to hazardous substances but also to the changes in water quality and disease outbreak. Molecular and biochemical biomarkers may be most useful in understanding the potential biological effects of toxic compounds when used in parallel with relevant endpoints of higher biological levels.
이동식 크레인 하중이 굴착사면 안정성에 미치는 영향 분석

The effect of heavy construction equipment on the excavated slope is investigated by slope stability analysis. A mobile crane with 500 kN capacity is applied as a working load to the background surface of the excavated slope, in both sandy soil and clay, designed to guarantee the safety of slope stability. Major parameters such as the distance between the edge of the slope and the mobile crane, groundwater level, and ground plate size of the mobile crane are considered. Only 23.8% and 14.3% of the analysis models with sandy soil and clay excavated slope, respectively, satisfied the slope stability. By changing the slope of the sandy soil from 1:1.0 to 1:1.2, the number of analysis models securing slope stability increased from 23.8% to 40.5%. For the clay excavated slope, the analysis models securing slope stability increased from 14.3% to 42.9% by changing slope inclination from 1:0.8 to 1:1.2. In addition, it is found that the increase in the size of the ground plate of the mobile crane increases the analysis models that secure slope stability. Therefore, it is an effective way to relax the excavated slope's inclination angle and simultaneously increase the ground plate size to guarantee stability.

Klippel-Trenaunay 증후군은 드문 선천적 혈관이상 질환으로 피부의 혈관종,다수의 정맥류, 이환된 사지의 비대를 특징으로 하며 매우 드물게 방광의 혈관종을 동반한다고 알려져 있다. 저자들은 Klippel-Trenaunay 증후군에 동반된 방광 혈관종 1예의 방사선학적 소견을 보고하는 바이다. Klippel-Trenaunay syndrome is a rare congenital vascular disorder characterized by cutaneous hemangioma, multiple varicosities, and hypertrophy of involved extremities. It is rarely associated with bladder hemangioma. The authors report the imaging findings of a case of the Klippel-Trenaunay syndrome involving hemangioma of the bladder.

A genus, Pantilius Curtis (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Miridae: Mirinae), is reported for the first time from the Korean Peninsula, based on finding a species of Pantilius hayashii Miyamoto and Yasunaga, 1989, which was hitherto known only from Honshu, Japan. The morphological information, such as description and diagnosis, is presented with photographs and illustrations of adult habitus and male genitalia.
친환경 Ag-SnO<sub>2</sub> 전기접점재료의 분말야금 공정 최적화

In a view point of environment, the advanced electric contact material without environmental load element such as cadmium has to be developed. Extensive studies have been carried out on $Ag-SnO_2$ electric contact material as a substitute of Ag-CdO contact materials. In the present study, powder metallurgy including compaction and sintering is introduced to solve the incomplete oxidation problems in manufacturing process of $Ag-SnO_2$ electrical contact material. The $Ag-SnO_2$ contact material, fabricated in this study, was actually set in an electric switchgear of which working voltage is 462V and current is between 25 and 40A, for the purpose of testing its performance. As a result, it exceeded the existing Ag-CdO contact materials in terminal-temperature ascent and main contact resistance.

Purpose: Traditional markets often have irregular space utilization patterns because the spaces are created and divided as time passed. Internally, there is high risk of fire due to problems such as aging facilities and high-density of stores and externally, there is high risk of fire spread since it is often adjacent to deteriorated residential and commercial facilities. Method: In this paper, on-site investigations were carried out to check fire risk factors and fire spread risk, and fire occurrence and expansion risk factors were investigated for traditional markets in Hwanghak-dong and Dong-daemun by using large-scale fire data from existing traditional markets. Result: As a result of the analysis, there are likely to be various problems such as high fire load and lack of safety awareness due to aging facilities and high-density of stores. In particular, it is necessary to prepare countermeasures because deteriorated residential facilities with narrow alleys around traditional markets have high fire spread. It is situation that while traditional markets mainly are managing for fire and disaster centering on the merchant association, the surrounding residential areas are not properly managed. Conclusion: It is necessary to manage deteriorated residential facilities with traditional markets, also to be linked early warning system and information to evacuate rapidly in case of fire there. 연구목적: 전통시장은 시간적인 차이를 두고 필요에 의하여 공간이 생성 및 구획되어 불규칙적인 공간 활용 패턴을 갖는 경우가 많다. 그 영향으로 내적으로는 시설노후화, 점포의 과밀화 등과 같은 문제로 화재발생 위험성이 높고, 외적으로는 노후 주거 및 상업 시설과 인접한 경우가 많아 화재확산의 위험성이 높다. 연구방법: 본 논문에서는 기존 전통시장 대형화재 자료를 활용하여 황학동과 동대문 일대의 전통시장을 대상으로 화재 위험요인 및 화재 확산 위험성에 대하여 현장조사를 실시하고 화재 발생과 확대 위험요인에 대해 검토하였다. 연구결과: 분석결과, 노후화시설과 점포과밀화로 인한 높은 화재하중 및 안전의식 부재 등과 같은 다양한 문제점이 존재하는 것으로 파악되었다. 특히, 전통시장주변의 좁은 골목과 함께 발달한 노후주거시설은 화재확산 위험성이 매우커서 대책마련이 필요하다. 전통시장은 상인회를 중심으로 화재 및 재난관리를 하는 반면 주변 주거지역은 제대로 관리되고 있지 못하였다. 결론: 전통시장과 함께 주변의 노후주거시설을 함께 관리할 필요가 있으며, 전통시장과 노후주거시설에서 발생한 화재에 대하여 신속한 대피가 가능하도록 조기경보체계와 정보연계가 필요하다.
