        소아에서 외상 후 발생한 양안 장액망막박리 1예

        Purpose: We report a case of post‐traumatic bilateral serous retinal detachment that resolved spontaneously within a month. Case summary: An 8-year-old male patient presented with post-traumatic bilateral serous retinal detachment and decreased visual acuity. We did not perform any specific treatment. Best corrected visual acuity (BCVA), fluorescein angiography (FA), optical coherence tomography (OCT), and slit lamp examination were used. Conclusions: After 1 month, the patient’s BCVA improved to 1.0 in both eyes, and serous retinal detachment resolved; FA findings and OCT findings were nearly normal.         병적 근시가 황반 원공 수술 결과에 미치는 영향

        Purpose: To evaluate if the presence of pathologic myopia could affect the result of macular hole surgery. Methods: This study was a retrospective comparison of the results of macular hole surgery between a pathologic myopia group (11 eyes) and a non-pathologic myopia group (14 eyes). All patients had undergone PPV, ILM peeling and C3F8 (20%) gas temponade. BCVA, IOP and OCT findings were evaluated preoperatively and at 6 months after surgery. Postoperative BCVA, IOP and macular hole closure were compared between each groups. Results: The only statistically significant preoperative parameter between the groups was axial length (p < 0.001). Postoperative BCVA was lower in the pathologic myopia group, but the difference was not statistically significant. The rate of macular hole closure was statistically significant higher in the non-pathologic myopia group (p < 0.001). Conclusions: The presence of pathologic myopia may negatively affect the result of macular hole surgery.

        거대 행성들과 혜성들의 분광학

        We have presented detected molecules, atoms, radicals, ions, and dimers in the atmospheres of planets and comets from Earth-based and spaceborne observatories during the last 3 decades. We have reviewed spectroscopic studies on the auroral emissions and air glows of the giant planets, and briefly summarized spectroscopic observations of dimers in the atmospheres of the giant planets and Titan. In particular, we highlighted the recent detections of new molecular emissions and absorptions in the spectra of the giant planets, Titan, and recent bright comets from spaceborne or ground-based observatories. We also reviewed current models and theories of the origin and evolution of the solar system, and implications of isotopic ratios in these atmospheres.

        N/A ln an attempt to determine the function of hepatic allografts, we studied the metabolic changes of plasma amino acids intraoperatively in 3 cases of hepatic transplantation in dogs for indicators of hepatic function.The operation was divided into four sampling periods; baseline, hepatectomy (portal vein and inferior vena cava clamping time) anhepatic, and reperfusion.1) During the baseline period & anhepatic period, there was no significant change in labaratory data except slight increasing of SGOT and lower level of total protein and albumin. 2) During the anhepatic period, total free plasma amino acids levels (TFPAA) rose significant statistically (p<0.01), but the branched chain amino acids (valine, leucine, isoleucine) and methionine did not rise but reduce or remain steady. And during reperfusion period, TFPAA had a tendency to decrease. 3) The molar ratio of BGAA/aromatic amino acids had a trend to decrease in anhepatic period. 4) There was no different change between essential amino acids and non-essential amino acids in anhepatic period.

        N/A Living-related segmental liver transplantation is currently accepted as one method of treatments of pediatric endstage liver diseases. Immediate recovery of graft function is prerequisite for patients survival, In case of graft failure, early prediction is necessary for retransplantation to avoid decease. Since amino acids and lactic acid are metabolized in liver, levels of those components lin plasma are frequently used as indicators for hepatic graft function. we have investigated the wequential changes of amino acids and lactic acid following autologous segmental liver transplantation in canine to identify the significance of these indicators. Ten mongrel dogs were prepared by harvesting the left lobe frorn experimental dogs, removing the rest of liver using total vascular exclusion and veno-venous bypass, and implanting the left lobe taken at first stage in the orthotopic position. The plasma amino acids and lactic acid concentrations in arterial blood obtained at preoperative period, anhepatic phase, reperfusion-15 min., 1 hour, 3 hours, 6 hours, were measured on Beckman system 6300 amino acid analyzer and Kodak Ektachem 700 XR, Among ten dogs, five of them died within 20 hours (Group 1), and the rest of them died after 20 hours (Group 2). The results indicate: (1) ln both Group, all plasma amino acid levels were increased in anhepatic phase except Valine, Isoleucine, and Arginine. Most highly increased amino acid was Alanine. (2) In group 1, most amino acids were slightly decreased till reperfusion 1 hour, and then increased to the level of anhepatic phase in reperfusion 6 hours. (3) In group 2, most plasma amino acid levels were decreased to preoperative values within 6 hours following reperfusion. (4) The changing patterns of TFPAA (total free plasma amino acid), BCAA/AAA ratio (Branched chain amino acid/aromatic amino acid ratio), and severaI amino acids (Phenylalanine, alanine Proline, Tyrosine) revealed statistically significant difference between two Groupe. (5) While plasma concentration of lactate continued to rise until 6 hours after reperfusion in Group 1, already increased plasma concentration of lactate in anhepatic phase reached plateau during 6 huurs after reperfusion in Group 2. The above changing pattern of plasma concentration of lactate showed statistically significant difference between both Groups (p<0.05). (6) Aspartate aminotransferase (AST) and alanine aminotransferase (ALT) levels were increased equally during operation and reperfusion in two Groups. Therefore, the sequential changes of plasma amino acids and lactic acid are useful indicators for detection of early graft function in canine autologous segmental liver transplantation

      • Responsible Behavior of the Firm

        This study postulates that the inconclusive relationship between social and financial performance may be based on different motivation to engage in corporate social responsibility (CSR). As an unexplored dimension of the motivation for CSR actions, we propose the aspect that firms seek for enhancing ethical status, called conspicuous CSR. Drawn from the theory on conspicuous consumption (Veblen, 1899), we explore the possibilities that firms may spend their resources for society to reveal their ethical status. This implies that firms are likely to engage in CSR to advertise their CSR status. From this standpoint, we attempt to discern the behavioral aspect that a firm’s prosocial activities are dependent on its prior ethical status. And we investigate how different motivations, i.e. strategic CSR vs. conspicuous CSR, affect financial performance, especially instantiated by Tobin’s q. With a sample of 1,665 U.S. public firms between 1993 and 2012, we find that conspicuous CSR has a negative impact on market performance while strategic CSR has a positive impact. We expect that these findings can reconcile the inconclusive debate on the CSR-CFP relationship.

      • The Role of Family Capital and Ethnic Salience on Immigrant Lawyers’Self-Employment

        이 연구에서 우리는 미국 내 소수 인종(Ethnic Minorities) 출신 전문직들이 조직 내에서 보다 높은 레벨로 나아가지 못하게 만드는 장벽, 특히 정체성 관련 요인들을 살펴보고자 한다. 이민자 출신의 전문직들은 다수의 사회적 정체성을 가지고 있는데 (예를 들어 전문직 vs. 소수 인종으로의 정체성), 우리는 그들이 커리어에 있어 목표를 달성하기 위해 다양한 사회적 정체성을 어떻게 관리하는지 알아보려고 한다. 특히, 창업을 이민자 전문직들이 전통적 조직에서 벗어나 직업적 성공확률을 증가시키는 도구로 인지하고, 창업의 요인을 알아내보고자 시도했다. 사회적 정체성 이론에 기반하여 우리는 가족 자본(family capital)과 인종 정체성 인식 정도(ethnic salience)에 집중하였다. 945명의 이민자 출신의 변호사를 대상으로, 우리는 가족 자본이 이민 변호사들을 전통적 로펌에 머물게 하는 것을 발견하였고, 나아가, 인종 정체성 인식 정도는 가족 자본과 창업 사이의 부정적 관계를 강화하는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 이민자 출신들의 창업 연구에 대한 시사점과 추후 연구를 제안한다. In this study, we explore the identity-related factors for ethnic minorities to navigate barriers that may prevent them from professional advancement into higher levels of an organization. Given that immigrant professionals have multiple social identities, i.e. professionals vs. ethnic minorities, we are motivated to investigate how the multiple social identities can be managed to pursue a career development goal. In particular, acknowledging self-employment as a means for immigrant professionals to increase the chances of career success outside of traditional organizations, we attempt to figure out the factors for self-employment. Drawing from social identity theories, we focus on family capital and ethnic salience as constraints for self-employment. Using a sample of 945 ethnic minorities in the legal profession in the U.S., we found that family capital let the immigrant lawyers stay at the traditional law firms, and further, ethnic salience reinforces the negative relationship between family capital and self-employment. We discuss the implications for the immigrant self-employment literature and suggest further research.

        모바일 게임을 위한 증강현실 기반 직관적 변형 직물객체 조작

        최근 높은 관심을 모으고 있는 모바일 증강현실 게임은 몰입감을 높이기 위한 접근 방법으로 손꼽히고 있다. 모바일 디바이스의 카메라를 이용하여 대상 물체를 인식하고 게임 캐릭터가 등장하도록 하는 기존 증강현실 기반의 게임에서는 대부분이 터치 기반의 인터랙션만을 사용하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 게임의 몰입도를 높이기 위하여 증강현실 타겟 이미지를 움직임으로써 게임 속 변형 객체를 직관적으로 조작하는 기법을 제안한다. 제안 방법에서는 타겟 이미지들 사이의 거리와 방향을 계산하고, 이에 따라 변형객체에 주어지는 외부력(external force)의 크기를 조정함으로써, 직관적 방법으로 변형 객체의 움직임을 조작할 수 있도록 하였다. 본 논문에서는 게임 콘텐츠에서 자연스러운 객체 표현을 위하여 많이 사용되고 있는 변형 직물(cloth) 모델에 초점을 맞추었고, 바람(wind)과 강체(rigid object)로 표현되는 게임 객체들과 상호작용하는 자연스러운 직물의 움직임을 표현하였다. 실험에서는 유니티 에셋 스토어에서 판매하는 기존 유료 직물 모델의 적용 결과와의 비교를 통하여 제안 기법이 보다 현실감 있는 직물의 움직임을 표현하고 있는 것을 보였다. In recent, mobile augmented reality game which has been attracting high attention is considered to be an good approach to increase immersion. In conventional augmented reality-based games that recognize target objects using a mobile camera and show the matching game characters, touch-based interaction is mainly used. In this paper, we propose an intuitive interaction method which manipulates a deformable game object by moving a target image of augmented reality in order to enhacne the immersion of the game. In the proposed method, the deformable object is intuitively manipulated by calculating the distance and direction between the target images and by adjusting the external force applied to the deformable object using them. In this paper, we focus on the cloth deformable object which is widely used for natural object animation in game contents and implement natural cloth simulation interacting with game objects represented by wind and rigid objects. In the experiments, we compare the previous commercial cloth model with the proposed method and show the proposed method can represent cloth animation more realistically.

        개에서 자가 부분 간 이식술전후 동맥혈의 KBR ( Ketone Body Ratio ) 측정과 이식 간의 초기 기능부전 지표로서의 상관관계에 관한 연구

        N/A Living-related segmental liver transplantation is now accepted as a method of liver transplantatior in pediatric group. But if graft failure occurs, mortality is high. Hence the early prediction of graft failure may contribute to the improvement of the chance of survival. The ketone bodies (acetoacetate, B-hydroxybutyrate) are known to be produced in the hepatic mitochondria. KBR (ketone body ratio) is a ratio of acetoacetate/B-hydroxybutyrate, which ref1ects the NAD+/NADH, i.e. oxidoreduction state of NAD of hepatic mitochondria. Because the viability of grafted liver is ultimately depeadant on the oxidoreduction potential of hepatic mitochondria, KBR might reflect the viability of grafted liver. The purpose of this experiment is to study whether KBR is a useful indicator of initial grat failure after liver transplantation. The experiment consisted of ten autologous left lobe liver transplants in dogs. The arterial blood was taken at preoperative period, anhepatic stage, reperfusion-15 minutes, 1 hour, 3 hour, 6 hour anl daily during their survival, and then KBR was calculated by ketone body concentration. The result of KBR measurement was as follows; it was 1.16+-0.33 at preoperative period, and abruptly decreased to 0.46+- 0.21 at anhepatic stage, and recovered to various levels according to initial graft function after reperfusion. To evaluate the initial graft function, the dogs were divided into two groups. A group (n=3) had KBR below 0.7 at reperfusion 1 hour, and B group (n=7) above 1.0. In group A, all of them showed early graft failure and died within 12 hours postoperatively. KBR changes in group A were as follows; it was 1.16 at preoperative period, and decreased to 0.25 at anhepatic stage, and recorded 0.69, 0.54, 0.61, 0.29 at reperfusion-15 min, 1 hour, 3 hour, 6 hour respectively. It never recovered above 0.7 at any period after reperfusion. In group B. they showed good early-graft function with survival of 16 hours to 8 days and died of other causes, ln group B, preoperative KBR was 1.16, and decreased to 0.54 at anhepatic stage, but promptly recovered to 0.95 at reperfusion-15 minute, 1.32 at 1 hour. It slightly decreased to 0.83 at 1 hour but maintained above 1.0 after 6 hour. In conclusion, the decreased KBR at anhepatic stage should promptly recover after reperfusion for the graft viability, and the value below 0.7 of KBR after reperfusion-1 hour represents the early graft failure, and above 1.0 of KBR represents good functioning graft. The KBR is a useful indicator of early graft function in canine autologous segmental liver transplantation, and it is assumed that KBR is further applicable on canine and human allogenic segmental liver transplantation.
