        델파이법을 적용한 암연구수준의 평가

        Globally, cancer research has been considered one of the most important field of biomedical researches. Recently, in Korea, there are increasing concerns about cancer research and the development of national cancer control programme. For the efficient investment in cancer research at the national level, strategic approach is needed based on the nationwide information about current status of research. However even the basic data on cancer research have not been systematically collected, and are not available when necessary. The aim of this study is to assess current status of cancer research. For this purpose, this study applied two round Delphi method in which fifteen experts in cancer research fields participated. They rated each items on the initial list at the first round, and modified their responses at the second round. Panels responded that pathogenesis of cancer, research & development of cancer drug, and oncogene, etc. are the most urgent and important research Holds. They assessed national level of cancer research as being 49.6% of the world highest level. Coefficient of variation tended to be lowered with the iteration. Predictive stability was evaluated to be lower in items of urgency than in items of importance and research level. Although this study shares the same limitations in the selection of the experts with many other Delphi studies, it provides a primary data that would be required to plan the national strategy of the cancer research.

        흑연 전극을 이용한 우라늄 전해정련 특성

        흑연음극을 이용하여 LiCl-KCl공융염내에서 금속우라늄의 전해정련을 수행하였다. Uraniurn-Graphite Intercalation Compound(U-GIC)의 형성에 의하여 우라늄 전착물의 sell-scraping이 일어나며 전해정련에서 stripping과정을 생략함으로서 전해효율을 높일 수 있다. 우라늄 전착물내의 희토류 원소 오염은 무시할 만 하였으나 약 300ppm정도의 탄소가 오염되어 있는 것으로 관찰되었다. 탄소 오염은 이트륨을 이용한 정제공정 등을 거칠 경우 제거 가능하리라 사료된다. 회수된 우라늄 전착물의 조직 특성을 분석하였으며, 스틸 음극에 의해 회수된 전착물과 비교하였다. 이 결과는 초기 실험결과 이며 보다 심층적 연구를 통하여 사용 후 금속핵연료의 전해정련 개념을 개선시킬 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

        우리 나라 국민의 보완요법 이용률, 이용양상과 비용지출

        Objectives : To determine the prevalence, pattern. and out-of-pocket expenditure of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) utilization in Korean adult population. Methods : We conducted a representative telephone survey of 2,042 persons aged 18 or older. Data about any health problem, details of their use of medical doctors(MDs) offices/hospitals/pharmacies services and CAM during the preceding 12 months were collected with structured questionnaire. Results : The utilization rate of CAM among Korean adults was 29% in one year. A total of 231 kinds of CAM was identified from this survey. Annual out-of-pocket expenditure associated with CAM use in 1998 amounted to ${\xi}{\S}1.88$ billion and was comparable to 40.8% of out-of-pocket expenditure paid for MDs offices/hospitals/pharmacies services. Among those(N=424) who paid for both MDs offices/hospitals/pharmacies services an d CAM, 35.8% paid more for CAM. CAM gave more satisfaction than western medicine to those who had experience of both types of therapy. About half of CAM users were willing to recommend CAM to others. Disclosure rate to physician among CAM users was not high(40.6%). Conclusion : CAM became a popular source of health care in Korea, Korean spent a substantial amount of out-of-pocket money on CAM without any public control. Because CAM use is likely to be increased rapidly through lay referral system, health policy makers and health professionals should pay more attention to CAM for making appropriate utilization of CAM.

        투과증발법에 의한 방사성폐액의 감용

        저준위 방사성 액체폐기물의 새로운 감용방법으로써 cellulose acetate막을 사용한 투과증발법의 연구가 수행되었다. 실험결과에 의하면 일반적으로 유기물의 분리에 사용되는 투과증발법은 액체폐기물의 감용을 위한 제염효과가 우수하였고, 수분의 증발속도도 저준위 방사성 액체폐기물의 감용을 위해 널리 사용되는 자연증발에 비해 현저히 빨랐다. 또한 주입용액의 조건에 따른 실험결과를 토대로 투과증발특성을 평가하였으며, 투과증발량을 증가시키기 위해 cellulose acetate막의 최적제막조건을 설정하였다. As a promising method for the volume reduction of the low-level liquid waste, the pervaporation process was studied using a cellulose acetate membrane. Experimental results showed that the pervaporation method, usually applied to separation of organic materials, has a good decontamination effect for the volume reduction of liquid waste and the evaporation rate of water in this process was markedly faster than that of natural evaporation method, a wide-used process for the volume reduction of liquid waste. Depending on the feed solution conditions, the pervaporation characteristics were evaluated by the experimental results and the optimum conditions for preparation of the cellulose acetate membrane were established to increase the pervaporation flux through the membrane.

        조선 및 일제시대의 적지적수 사료 발굴

        Historical Documents on Proper Tree Selection System of Korea were collected in Japan and introduced in this review. Products of some pine species and fruit were used for laying a tribute to Kings in the Chosun dynasty. In this review, some case studies and implementation of proper tree selection system during the period of Japanese rule, the atlas of climatically favourable regions for the species of trees and bamboos in Korean peninsular, and the test results on regional afforestation, tree selection and proper tree selection of fast growing trees were introduced. Of these documents, especially, the atlas of climatically favourable regions of trees and bamboos growing in Korean peninsular is considered as a valuable document. It tis expected that these historical documents on proper tree selection system might be use as references for the researches on indigenous forest, forest resources development, afforestation of fire damaged areas, and the restoration project of North Korea by the time of reunification of Korea. 이 논문에서는 우리나라 적지적수 연구사에 관한 사료를 제시하였다. 필자는 조선시대의 임금에 대한 진상을 목적으로 한 적지적수사와 일제강점 초기의 간이적인 적지적수 연구 및 실시사례, 강점중기에 이르러서는 조선수목죽류 기후상적지도, 후기에는 속성수의 절지식재시험 및 지역별 조림수종 선발시험 등에 관한 주요 자료를 해외에서 수집 발굴하였다. 조선수목죽류 기후상적지도는 아직까지 국내에 알려지지 않은 자료로서 향후 우리나라 산지의 지원화 및 산불 피해지 복구조림, 남북통일을 대비한 북한지역 녹화사업의 기초자료로서 뿐만 아니라 고유임상 및 식생연구 등에도 유용하게 사용될 것으로 기대된다.

        안전하고 효과적인 광대축소술

        Background: Reduction malarplasty is one of the most popular facial contouring surgeries in east Asia for making patients’ faces smaller. Currently in Korea, reduction malarplasty surgeries are performed mostly at plastic surgery clinics, but few cases are done at oral and maxillofacial surgery clinics. The reason might be because of post-operative complications after reduction malarplasty, such as undercorrection, overcorrection, asymmetry, cheek drooping, malunion, pain and noise. Those complications should be uneasy to be handled by oral and maxillofacial surgeons, however, they can be prevented by knowing the effective and safe reduction malarplasty techniques. Therefore, in this article the author as an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, would like to suggest safe and effective surgical methods for reduction malarplasty customized for Korean patients. Method: L- shape osteotomy of zygomatic body was performed with intraoral approach via vestibular incision, and the zygomatic arch was osteotomized with extraoral approach via sideburn incision. Then zygomatic complex was separated and rotated mesio-superiorly without removal of a bony strip and fixed with miniplates and microplates without making a bony gap. Conclusion: Surgical results were favorable and satisfied by the patients without cheek drooping, malunion, undercorrection and asymmetry.

        불화물 / 염화물 용융염을 이용한 우라늄금속의 전해정련에 관한 연구

        본 연구에서는 KCI-LiCl과 LiF-NaF-KF(FLINAK)용융염에서 금속우라늄과 회토류를 원료물질로 하여 전해정련을 수행하였다. 음극 전착물의 주성분은 우라늄이었으며 다른 회토류 금속에 대한 우라늄의 분리계수는 염화물 용융염의 차이는 없었다. 용융염과 전착물내의 회토류의 농도는 회토류의 분해전압인 1.9V 이상의 인가전압에서 급격히 증가하였으며, 전류효율은 1.0~1.9V내에서 인가전압에 반비례하였다. The electrorefining experiments with an anode composed of U, Y, Gd, Nd and Ce were carried out in the KCl-LiCl and LiF-NaF-KF(FLINAK) eutectic melt at 500℃ and 600℃, respectively. Uranium was the major component in the cathode deposits, and the separation factors of uranium with respect to the rare earths (REs) were nearly same in both electrolytes. REs concentrations in the molten salts and cathode deposits increased sharply at above 1.9 V, which was decomposition voltage of REs. The current efficiency was inversely proportional to the applied voltage in the range of 1.0 V to 1.9 V (vs STS304 and Ni).

        산림재해지 복구를 위한 주요 수종의 입지 및 재해 저항 특성 분석

        We recently witnessed increasingly more natural disturbances on forested land. On the other hand, only limited number of nursery grown tree species are available for restoration projects. At the same time, so little on the disturbance resistance of species has been studied that a selection of right species for right site condition becomes very difficult. This study is a compilation of the site specificities and disturbance resistance of each species native to South Korea. Each species was surveyed for 11 items related to site specificities, and 12 items related to disturbance resistance including the resistance to snow damage. This study was conducted for 161 tree species from 44 families:21 evergreen conifer species, 2 deciduous conifer species, 18 evergreen broad-leaved species, 118 deciduous broad-leaved species, and 2 monocotyledon species. This study suggests that native species in South Korea show resistance to all types of natural disturbances except drought.
