Pollen tube penetration and fertilization of Panax ginseng were investigated, the results of which we re summarized as follows: Pollen tube started to grow into the stigmatic tissue about five hours after pollination, reached to the embryo sac by about 16 hours after pollination. Fertilization of secondary nucleus occured about 18 hours after pollination, while the egg cell was fertilized seven hours later than the fusion nucleus. First division of the primary endosperm nucleus was observed taking place around 25 hours af ter pollination, but the fertilized egg cell underwent its first division about 20 hours later than the primary endosperm nucleus.

Low temperature scanning laser microscopy (LTSLM) can be used for a two-dimensional display of bolometric response arising from the localized excitation of a sample by the focused laser beam. In this study, the distribution of critical temperature ($T_c$) and critical current density ($J_c$) in YBCO coated conductor were analyzed using LTSLM. For improving the temperature stability, we have modified the system into a double-shielding type. Through the modification, the temperature stability was successfully improved from ${\pm}10mK\;to\;{\pm}2mK$. The superconducting properties of YBCO coated conductors were measured for the sample of a narrow bridge type using wet etching process. The spatial non-uniformity of the ac voltage response, ${\delta}V(x)$, which is proportional to ${\partial}\rho(x,J_B)/{\partial}T$ in the transition temperature region could be observed and displayed in a two-dimensional image.

Nanometer-sized structures are being applied to many devices including micro/nano electronics, optoelectronics, quantum devices, MEMS/NEMS, biosensors, etc. Especially, the thin film with submicron thickness is a basic structure for fabricating these devices, but its mechanical behaviors are not well understood. The mechanical properties of the thin film are different from those of the bulk structure and are difficult to measure because of its handling inconvenience. Several techniques have been applied to mechanical characterization of the thin film, such as nanoindentation test, micro/nano tensile test, strip bending test, etc. In this study, we focus on the strip bending test because of its high accuracy and moderate specimen preparation efforts, and measure Au thin film, which is a very popular material in micro/nano electronic devices. Au film is deposited on Si substrate by evaporation process, of which thickness is 100㎚. Using the strip bending test, we obtain elastic modulus, yield and ultimate tensile strength, and residual stress of Au thin film.

The PID controllers which is widely used in the process industry are poorly damped when the dynamic process contains significant dead_time or when there are random disturbances acting on the plant. GPC is known to be more superior than conventional self_tuning algorithm in overcoming above problem and prior choice of model order. In this paper, We propose the method which determine the parameter of PID controller from minimization of GPC criterion. The controller has emplicit scheme which is comprised of parameter estimation and PID control design. Simulation results show the performance of the proposed self_tuning PID controller.
