        Background and Objectives : Digital rectal examination (DRE) and uroflowmetry have been usually together in the BPH management. The aim of this study was to determine whether DRE would affect uroflowmetry measurement. Materials and methods : A total of 80 male patients were included in this study. First uroflowmetry was done after DRE, second uroflowmetry was done without DRE. Third uroflowmetry was done after DRE, and fourth was done without DRE. Results : The mean Qmax on uroflowmetry after DRE was 15.2±8.7㎖/sec and 14.9±9.8㎖/sec. The mean Qmax on only uroflowmetry was 15.3±8.9㎖/sec and 15.4±8.4㎖/sec. There was statistically no difference between the mean Qmax(P> 0.05). And effect of digital rectal examination on uroflowmetry measurement with age was statistically no difference between the mean Qmax(P)0.05). Conclusions : We could not find and effect of DRE on uroflowmetry parameters, In this study, uroflowmetry test would be appropiate for recommending DRE before or after.

      • Metanil yellow에 의한 Benzalkonium chloride의 Ion pair 抽出 吸光度 定量

        Benzalkonium chloride which is widly used as medicine is nitrogen Compound of quaternary amines. In this thesis, the author investigated the application of extraction method of organic solvents in forming ion pair between benzalkonium chloride(BKC) and metanil yellow(MY). In the process of laboratory work, MY and BKC were mixied and added the buffer solution to 10㎖, and then the solution was shaken for 5 minutes. Dichlormethane was the best of all other solvents as than dichlormethane, chlorobenzene, benzene, nitrobenzene and carbontetrachloride in the extraction solvents of ion pair which was formed between MY and BKC. However, MY has never been extracted with any kinds of solvents either. Bu using the method of continuous variation, the authors investigated that the mole ratio of reaction products formed between MY and BKC was 1 : 1 ratio. In this experiment, the maximum absorption wavwlwnth of the reaction product was 402㎚. Dichlormethane was the best extracting solvent among the serveal organic solvents and the most suitable pH range was 2∼8. When the BKC-MY calibration curve was in the best experimental condition, the Lambert-Beer's law was obeyed in the range of BKC of 2×10^-6 M by UV spectro photometer.

      • 동면동물 혈액상의 생리적 변화에 관한 연구

        활동기와 동면기에 동면동물인 살모사에 있어서 혈액내 가스함량과 부분압인 TCO_2, P0_2, PO_2 및 pH와 일반적인 혈액상인 적혈구수, 백혈구수, 혈색소, Hematocrit 등의 변화를 조사한바 다음과 같이 요약하였다. 1. 총이산화탄소량 (TCO_2), 이산화탄소부분압P(C0_2), 산소압(PO_2)과 pH는 활동기보다 동면기 에 증가하였다. 2. 적혈구수, 혈색소, 적혈구백분율(Hematocrit)은 활동기보다 동면기에 약간 증가하는 경향이었다. 3. 백혈구수는 활동기보다 동면기에 뚜렷한 감소를 보였다. 환경온도와 체온의 저하로 인한 혈액내의 변화는 인정할 수 있었다. This thesis were performed in order to study physiological changes of vipers in the active phase and hibernation phase, Physiological changes were blood gas volume and pressure (TCO_2, PCO_2, PO_2), blood pH and blood pictures (RBC, WBC, Hemoglobin, Hematocrit) The obtained results were summalize as follows; 1. TCO_2, PCO_2, PO_2 and pH increased considerably in hibernation phase, compared with active phase. 2. RBC, Hemoglobin and Hematocrit increased slightly in hibernation phase, compared with active phase. 3. WBC, decreased considerably in hibernation phase, compared with active phase 4. The decrease of environmental and body temperature showed change of blood components.

      • 활동기 척추동물의 십이지장 배상세포내 점액질에 관한 조직화학적 연구

        본 실험은 다람쥐(Tamias sibiricus asiaticus Gmeli), 살모사(Agkistrodon halys Pallas), 황소개구리(Rana catesbeiana Shaw), 뱀장어(Anguilla japonica Temminck et Schlegel)등의 소장 배상세포내 점액질에 대한 성상을 밝히기 위하여 PAS reaction, Alcian blue pH2.5 및 Alcian blue pH0.4, 그리고 ABpH2.5-PAS reaction 복합염색등을 시행한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1. 사용한 각 동물에 있어서 소장 배상세포는 중성점액질, 약산성 및 강산성 황화점액질을 포함하고 있었다. 2. 중성점액질이 각 동물에 있어서 가장 안정된 분포를 보였으며 약산성 황화점액질도 비교적 고르게 분포되어 있었다. 3. 강산성 황화점액질은 다람쥐, 살모사 및 황소개구리에서는 소량 관찰되어 불안정한 분포를 보였으며 뱀장어에서는 관찰되지 않았다. 4. 각 실험동물의 십이지장 배상세포내에 포함된 점액질의 성상은 동물에 따라서 그 양과 염색성에 다소의 차이를 인정할 수 있다. In general, the goblet cells in the small intestines of experimental animals contained neutral mucosubstances, weakly and strongly acidic sulfated mucosubstances. Neutral mucosubstances show most stable distribution in the experimental animals. Mucosubstances in the small intestines of eels were composed of only neutral mucosubstances and weakly acidic sulfated mucosubstances. The contents and stain properties of mucostances produced in the intestinal goblet cells vary a little in portions within a species and in the same cell types of different species. This studies were performed in order to study composition of the mucosubstance in the goblet cells of small intestines of the various vertebrates. The specimens used in this study were obtained from the small intestines of 4 species of vertebrates, squirrels (Tamias sibiricus asiaticus Gmelin), vipers (Agkistrodon halys Palls), frogs (Rana catesbeiana Shaw), eels (Anguilla japonica Temminck et Scchlegel). All specimens were fixed in 10% neutral buffered formalin, embedded in paraffin wax, and sectioned at a thickness of 4㎛. They were stained with hematoxylin-eosin for general histological observation and with Periodic Acid-Schiff reaction, alcian blue pH2.5 and 0.4 and alcian blue pH2.5-Periodic Acid-Schiff reaction for detection of the mucosubstances. The mucous compositions in the goblet cells of the small intestines of various vertebrates examined by their staining reaction were neutral mucosubstances, weakly and strongly acidic sulfated mucosubstances.

      • 보행 지지기 시 후족각과 지면반력유형 분석

        The purpose of this study were to compare obeses and normal children during the stance. To conduct an investigation, eight children(Group 1- obese) were selected, who are deemed by 30~38% fat. And seven children(Group 2- normal) were selected, who are deemed by 15~20% fat. Each subject was walked in gait path, at the same time, a rearfoot motion and ground reaction force were measure using video camera and force plate(AMTI). After analyzing the rearfoot angle and groud reaction force, the results are as follows. 1. Rearfoot angle It is appear that rearfoot angle of the running and gait motion are different. Maximum rearfoot angle during the stance of the obese children turned out to be less tha that of the normal. 2. Vertical and Anterior-posterior Force. The first peak(Fz1), was greater than the second peak(Fz3) in the obese childern. But, The second peak(Fz3) was greater than the first peak(Fzl) in the normal children. Breaking force(Fyl)was similat to the propelling force(Fy2) in the obese children, but propelling force was greater than breaking force in the normal children.

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the eating behaviors and food preferences of university students. The survey was carried out through questionnaire and the subjects were 250 students in Chungbuk National University. Results showed that eating behaviors and food preferences of university students were concerned with general status. And most of the lodgers and the cooking food for themselves showed that their eating behaviors were irregular. As the result, It is necessary that university students were taught eating behaviors and food preferences right.

        인터넷 중독 성향을 보이는 남자 청소년들의 기질 특성과 유전자 다형성

        Objectives : Among chemical and non-chemical dependence, internet addiction is one of the most frequent addictive behavior in adolescent. This study was performed to detect certain temperamental and genetic characteristics in adolescent with internet addiction tendency. Methods : 87 adolescents with internet addiction tendency (AIT) and 78 adolescents without internet addiction tendency(NAIT) were classified by Young's Internet Addiction Test. Cloninger's Temperament Character Inventory and 6 candidate genes of drug addiction (DRD2 TaqI A, DRD4, DAT1, 5-HTTLPR, NET-8, and COMT) polymorphisms were tested between two groups. Results : Novelty Seeking scores (p=0.001) and Harm Avoidance scores (p=0.042) were significantly higher in AIT. The frequency of DRD2-A1/A1 genotype and G allele of NET-8 in AIT was higher than that in NAIT. In AIT. Novelty Seeking scores were significantly different (p=0.011) according to NET-8 genotypes (G/G>G/A>A/A). Conclusion : These data suggest that male adolescents with internet addiction tendency have the specific temperament and genetic polymorphisms like chemical dependence.
