Although realgar bioleaching solution (RBS) hasbeen proved to be a potential candidate for cancer therapy, themechanisms of RBS anticancer are still far from beingcompletely understood. Dosed with RBS in C. elegans, themultivulva phenotype resulting from oncogenic ras gain-offunctionwasinhibited in a dose dependentmanner. It could beabrogated by concurrent treatment C. elegans with RBS andthe radical scavengerDMSO. However, RBS could not induceDAF-16 nuclear translocation in TJ356 or the increase of HSP16.2 expression in CL2070, which both could be arousedvisible GFP fluorescent variation to represent for oxidativestress generation. Treatment C. elegans with superoxide aniongenerator paraquat, similar results were also obtained. Ourresults indicated that RBS suppress excessive activated ras byincreasing reactive oxygen species (ROS) in C. elegans. Secondly, ROS induced by RBS significantly accumulated ona higher level inC. elegans with amutational ras than that withwild ras, thus leading to oxidative stress on ras gain-of-functionbackground rather than on normal ras context. Our resultsfirstly demonstrated that using C. elegans as amodel organismfor evaluating prooxidant drug candidates for cancer therapy.

Sensor-less external force detection is important for industrial robots which are usually not equipped with external force sensors to be applied in physical human-robot interaction (pHRI). This paper adopts the dynamic models of the robot in both dynamic mode and quasistatic mode to detect the external force. In the dynamic mode, the inertia and friction parameters of the robot are identified with the weighted least squares. The excitation trajectory for parameter identification is optimised. The un-modelled peak points in the joint torque residual are removed by a statistical method. The torque changes of joints in quasi-static mode which are equivalent to the joint pre-sliding friction is modelled with a lumped parameter model, generalised Maxwell slip (GMS) element model. Therefore, there is no need for the switching between the friction models in different modes and this and facilitates the application of dynamic model in the external force detection. The dynamic models of robots both in dynamic mode and quasi-static mode and their effectiveness for external force detection in pHRI are verified by experimental results.
FBG-based Non-contact Vibration Measurement and Experimental Study

Rotating shaft vibration measurement has important significance for condition monitoring and fault diagnosis of large rotating machinery system. This paper presents a novel non contact radial vibration displacement measurement method based on fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensing technology and introduces the principle and structure of the vibration sensor. The static displacement calibration experiment was carried out to determine linear range and sensitivity of the sensor. Finally, the sensor was used in the dynamic test of a rotating machinery experiment platform and the results show that the measurement method is feasible.
H∞ Filtering for Descriptor Systems
Yue-Peng Chen,Zu-De Zhou,Chun-Nian Zeng,Qing-Ling Zhang 대한전기학회 2006 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.4 No.6
The paper is concerned with H∞ filtering for descriptor systems. A necessary and sufficient condition is established in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) for the existence of normal filters such that the error systems are admissible and the transfer function from the disturbance to the filtering error output satisfies a prescribed H∞-norm bound constraint. When these LMIs are feasible, an explicit parameterization expression of all desired normal filter is given. All these results are yielded without decomposing the original descriptor systems, which makes the filter design procedure simple and direct. Finally, a numerical example is derived to demonstrate the applicability of the proposed approach.

Xylanase has been used extensively in the industrial and agricultural fields. However, the low-yield production of xylanase from native species cannot meet the increasing demand of the market. Therefore, improving the heterologous expression of xylanase through basic gene optimization may help to overcome the shortage. In this study, we synthesized a high-GC-content native sequence of the thermostable xylanase gene xynB from Streptomyces olivaceoviridis A1 and, also designed a slightly AT-biased sequence with codons completely optimized to be favorable to Pichia pastoris. The comparison of the sequences` expression efficiencies in P. pastoris X33 was determined through the detection of single-copy-number integrants, which were quantified using qPCR. Surprisingly, the high GC content did not appear to be detrimental to the heterologous expression of xynB in yeast, whereas the optimized sequence, with its extremely skewed codon usage, exhibited more abundant accumulation of synthesized recombinant proteins in the yeast cell, but an approximately 30% reduction of the secretion level, deduced from the enzymatic activity assay. In this study, we developed a more accurate method for comparing the expression levels of individual yeast transformants. Moreover, our results provide a practical example for further investigation of what constitutes a rational design strategy for a heterologously expressed and secreted protein.

Rehabilitation exoskeleton is a wearable robot for recovery training of stroke patients. It is a complex human-robot interaction system with highly nonlinearities, such as modeling uncertainties, unknown human-robot interactive force, input constraints, and external disturbances. This paper focuses on trajectory tracking control of a rehabilitation exoskeleton knee joint which is driven by a hydraulic actuator with input saturation. A radial basis function neural network (RBF-NN) sliding mode repetitive learning control strategy is presented for the exoskeleton knee joint, where the RBF-NN is combined with a sliding mode surface to compensate for the modeling uncertainties and the controller difference as well as enhanced the robustness of the system. Incorporating with a nonlinear observer, a repetitive learning scheme is constructed to estimate the unknown external disturbances and learn the periodic human-robot interactive force caused by repetitive recovery training. Utilizing the Lyapunov approach, the stability of the closed-loop control system and the observer are guaranteed. Comparative simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme.

In this work, we develop a novel 1-(2-Pyridylazo)-2-naphthol (PAN)-based acidic sulfate copper electronicelectroplating process for compact, homogeneous and conformal copper thickening of throughhole (TH). The adsorption characteristics, electrochemical properties and the interaction mechanismsof three additives (PEG, SPS and PAN) are studied in detail. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) and opticalmicroscope (OM) reveal that PAN can make the copper coating in fine grains and high throwing powerof 90.35% in TH without an overhang phenomenon. Theoretical calculations illustrate that the bindingenergies between additive molecules and copper surface decrease in the order: PAN > SPS > PEG. Cyclic voltammetry experiments at rotating rates of 1200 and 200 r/min prove that PAN itself can accelerateand weakly suppress copper electrodeposition at the center and mouth of TH, respectively. PANbehaves respectively the synergistic and antagonistic effects with PEG at the mouth and center of TH,and the weakly synergistic effects with SPS both at the mouth and center of TH. The addition of PANto the virgin make-up solution (VMS) containing PEG and SPS causes decreasing the relative electriccharge (DQ) at high and low rotating rates from 18.52 ± 0.08% to 8.25 ± 0.05%, which satisfies the closercopper electronic electroplating rate at the center and mouth of TH. The effective and complicated synergisticeffects of the additives PEG, SPS and PAN can achieve compact, homogeneous and conformal copperthickening of TH.
