        Ji-Seung crafts(Paper string crafts) is traditional handicraft of Korea, which is to strip and twist Hanji(Korean traditional paper) to make goods such as straw mat, box of wedding gifts(Ham), bottle, basket, bag, etc. Ji-Seung crafts requires considerable time and concentration due to process in addition to weaving, which is to prepare for certain amount of raw materials by twisting Hanji string with hand. Because of the arduous process, it has been difficult to popularize Ji-Seung crafts even though it is an outstanding traditional handicrafts. On the other hand, the elaboration could also be a strength to aim for high value added products by recognizing Ji-Seung crafts as high-quality handicrafts. Dress made by Ji-Seung crafts, ‘The Life & Foam of an Indigo blue Sea’ is a piece of work created by traditional Ji-Seung crafts, which was tailored by three-dimensional structure to be actually wearable. In an attempt to find proper exhibition place to maximize the visual effect when the model walks in the dress, it was decided to submit for WOW(World of WearableArt Award) Show in New Zealand. It is an international art fashion show held annually in New Zealand and it is known for lively and brilliant imagination by exhibiting wearable work piece without being limited in raw materials. In was first started in 1987 at Nelson, New Zealand and since 2005, it has been convened in Wellington, the capital of New Zealand. In WOW Show in 2006, 380 pieces were submitted from 90 nations and among them, 154 pieces were selected for the main stage. Dress made by Ji-Seung crafts, ‘The Life & Foam of an Indigo blue Sea’ was awarded with the 1st prize in international competition. The purpose of this study is to share my experience to propose the possibility for young craftsmen to appear on the international stage and find the future of new traditional handicrafts.

        거꾸로 수업(Flipped Learning)에 대한 과학 교사의 인식 분석

        본 연구의 목적은 거꾸로 수업의 적용에 대한 시사점을 얻기 위해 초·중·고등학교 교사 100명을 대상으로 거꾸로 수업에 대한 교사의 인식을 파악하여 과학교과에 대한 거꾸로 수업의 적용을 위한 정보를 얻는 데 있다. 이를 위해 전문가 집단을 통해 거꾸로 수업에 대한 교사 인식 문항을 개발하였다. 교사의 인식에 대한 조사 결과 거꾸로 수업에 대한 교사의 이해 정도는 기존 연구(Park & Cha, 2015)에 비해 높아졌으며, 교사들이 과학 교과를 거꾸로 수업 적용이 적절한 교과로 인식하고 있다는 사실도 다시 확인하였다. 거꾸로 수업 도입의 영향과 필요성에서 모두 다소 긍정적인 수준인 보통 이상의 응답을 보였지만, 도입 필요성이 교육에 미치는 영향에 비해 다소 낮은 응답을 나타냈다. 수행 준비 정도에 대해 교사들은 전반적으로 다소 부족하다는 의견을 보였고, 기존 수업에 비해 거꾸로 수업이 더 많은 시간과 노력이 필요하다는 인식을 가지고 있었다. 거꾸로 수업을 성공적으로 수행하기 위해 필요한 능력으로 수업설계능력을 선택한 교사가 가장 많았으며, 학습자료 제작 능력이 그 다음이었다. 이는 Shin et al.(2016a)에서 교사들이 부담을 느꼈던 부분과 일치한다. 이와 같은 연구 결과를 통해 거꾸로 수업의 도입에 대해 교사들의 일반적인 인식은 다소 긍정적이나 실제 적용에 대해 거부감을 가지거나 수행을 위한 준비가 부족하다는 인식을 하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 과학 교과의 경우 다른 교과에 비해 거꾸로 수업 적용에 대한 교사의 저항은 적을 것으로 예상할 수 있었고, 교사들이 기존 과학 수업의 문제점을 해결할 수 있는 대안으로 거꾸로 수업을 인식하고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. The purpose of this study was to obtain information on the application of flipped learning and confirm the applicability of flipped learning for science class, through investigating perceptions of 100 teachers in elementary, middle and high school. For this purpose, the questions for teacher’s perceptions about flipped learning were developed by the expert group. The results were as follows : The understanding of flipped learning was higher than in previous studies (Park& Cha, 2015), and the fact that teachers are aware of science as an appropriate subject for the application of flipped learning was confirmed again. Most teachers selected instructional design skills as the most needed ability for successful implementation of flipped learning, which is followed by material production skills. Two skills are related to difficulties presented in Shin et al.(2016a). Based on these results, teachers’ opposition to flipped learning applied in science class is expected to be low, compared to other subjects. It was confirmed that the high applicability of flipped learning may be a solution to the current science class in which teachers’ lecture takes up most part of the lesson.

      • 가막사리(Bidens tripartita L.)와 미국가막사리(Bidens frondosa L.) 종자의 발아에 미치는 몇가지 요인

        The experiments were conducted to determine the factors such as light and darkness, phytohormone and seed coat, influencing on seed germination of Bidens tripartita L. and B. frondosa. The seeds of both species were germinated when seed coat was damaged and weakened GA3 and BA stimulated germination of both species but ABA and IAA had no effect on germination of them, which ranged 50.0% to 80.0%. In B. forndosa, when inner layer of seed coat was removed, germination was highly promoted up to 96.7% compared with 10.0% germination rate in another treatments.

      • 조혈모세포이식 후 발생한 주폐포자층 폐렴에 대한 고찰

        Background : Pneumocytitis cainii pneumonia (PCP) can occur in immunocompromised hosts especially such as AIDS or cancer patients. Although recent research had focused on PCP in AIDS patients, few studies have described the clinical presentations of PCP in recipients of stem cell transplantation (SCT). We evaluated the clinical manifestations of PCP in SCT patients admitted at St. Mary's hospital, Seoul, Korea. Methods : The medical records of 17 PCP patients undergoing SCT between Feb. 1998 and Feb. 2000 were reviewed. The diagnosis of PCP was confirmed through the demonstration of Pneumocytitis cainii via either cytology of brochoalveolar lavage (BAL) or histological technique of lung biopsy. CMV disease and CMV infection were confirmed by BAL culture and antigenemia respectively . Results : Seventeen patients were all recipients of allogeneic SCT and 7 of 17 patients were performed non-sibling SCT. Patients presented with symptoms including brief period (4 ∼23 days) of fever (76%), dyspnea (70%), cough (64%), and signs such as rare(58.8%), Sixteen patients (94%) had been receiving immunosuppressive agent such as cyclosporine A (64%) or Fk506 (35%) without PCP prophylaxis. Eleven patients (64%) were treated with corticosteroid with mean dose of 16 mg/day prednisolone and mean duration of 4.6 months after post-SCT period. Twelve patients were co-infected with CMV. Another co-infected miCroorganisms were Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Mycobacterium tuberculosis, herpes simplex virus, parainfluenza virus, Average duration of treatment with trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole (TMP/SMX) was 21 ±9 days. Four patients died, and three of them were related with PCP. Conclusion : PCP developed frequently in patients who were taking immunosuppressive drug due to graft versus host disease or were not taking TMP/SMX prophylaxis. High risk patients showing fever, cough, or dyspnea should be considered to take early bronchoscopic intervention for detection of PCP. When treat for PCP, it also be considered to the possibility of coinfection such as CMV. (Korean J Infect Dis 33:273∼279, 2001)

      • Combination Effects of Essential Oils from Thymus species with Norfloxacin against Streptococcus pneumoniae

        The combination effects of essential oils from Thymus quinquecostatus and T. magnus with norfloxacin were evaluated against three strains of Streptococcus pneumoniae. The checkerboard titer test results demonstrated significant combined effects of norfloxacin and the two Thymus oils or thymol, the main component of this oil, against the susceptible and resistant strains of S. pneumoniae, with FICIs ranging from 0.14 to 1.00. Additionally, the anti-Streptococcus effects of the oils were dose-dependent on Tryptic soy agar plates containing 5% defibrinated sheep blood.

      • A case of lichen amyloidosis in an adult

        Lichen amyloidosis is a type of primary localized cutaneous amyloidosis clinically characterized by persistent pruritic, hyperkeratotic papules commonly distributed on the shins. Histopathologically, amyloid deposition in the papillary dermis is the characteristic finding. It appears to be more common in males and most often occurs in people 50-60 years of age. A 49-year-old woman presented with brownish papuloplaques on the both lower legs. Itching sense was severe and the lesion was occurred 2 years ago. Histopatholgic findings showed amyloid deposit in the papillary dermis. D-PAS staining was negative. Based on these findings, a diagnosis of lichen amyloidosis was made. We think this case has typical chracteristics of lichen amyloidosis. Therefore we report a case of lichen amyloidosis for educational purposes.

        지하역사 승강장 및 대합실 평상시/비상시 급ㆍ배기 환기 Large Eddy Simulation

        The turbulent flow behavior of air supply and exhaustion in the Shin-gum-ho subway station is analyzed for ordinary and emergency state. The depth of Shin-gum-ho station is 43.6m which consists of the island-type platform(8th floor in underground) and a two-story lobby (first & second floor in underground). An emergency stairway connects between the platform and the lobby. Ventilation operation mode for ordinary state is set up as a combination of air supply and exhaustion in the lobby and platform, while for emergency state it is set up as a full air supply in the lobby and a full exhaustion in the platform. The entire station is covered for simulation. The ventilation diffusers are modeled as 95 square shapes of 0.6m?0.6m in the lobby and as 222 square shapes of 0.6m×0.6m and 4 rectangular shapes of 1.2m×0.8m in the platform. The total of 7.5million grids are generated and whole domain is divided to 22 blocks for MPI efficiency of calculation. Large eddy simulation(LES) is applied to solve the momentum equation and Smagorinsky model(C<SUB>s</SUB>=0.2) is used as SGS subgrid scale) model. The time-averaged velocity fields are compared to experimental data and show a good agreement with it.

        절사표본에서 최적 절사점에 관한 연구

        상당수의 사업체 조사는 절사표본설계법을 사용하고 있다. 이는 절사표본설계법에서 얻은 전수층이 많은 정보를 포함하고 있어 전체 표본크기를 최소화 할 수 있는 장점이 있기 때문이다. 그러나 최근 전수층에 포함된 사업체들의 무응답률이 높아감에 따라 전수층이 가지고 있는 장점에 한계가 나타나고 있다. 이에 Lee (2011), Shin과 Lee (2013)는 표본설계 단계에서부터 주어진 허용오차를 만족하면서 전수층 규모를 최소화하는 연구를 실시하였다. 본 연구에서는 주어진 허용오차를 만족하고 Hidiroglou (1986)가 제안한 방법으로 산출 된 표본크기를 고정한 상태에서 표본층 분산에 알려진 함수를 적합하여 전수층 크기를 최소화하는 새로운 최적 절사점을 제안하였다. 또한 Hidiroglou (1986)와 Shin과 Lee (2013)가 제안한 절단분포를 이용한 방법과 본 연구에서 제안한 방법을 모의실험과 사례연구를 통해 비교하였다. Modified cut-off sampling is widely used for highly skewed data. A serious drawback of modified cut-off sampling is the difficulty of adjustment of non-response in take-all stratum. Therefore, solutions of the problems of non-response in take-all stratum have been studied in various ways such as substitute of samples, imputation or re-weight method. In this paper, a new cut-off point based on minimizing MSE being used in exponential and power functions is suggested and it can be reduced the number of take-all stratum. We also investigate another cut-off point determination method with underlying distributions such as truncated log-normal and truncated gamma distributions. Finally we suggest the optimal cut-off point which has a minimum of take-all stratum size among suggested methods. Simulation studies are performed and Labor Survey data and simulated data are used for the case study.

      • 신경세포의 Outgrowth 향상을 위한 마이크로 파이버 지지체와 전단응력의 영향

        We introduced mechanical stimuli and micro patterned substrate with micro fibers to investigate the effects of those on neurite outgrowth along with nerve growth factor (NGF) in vitro. Micro fiber substrates were fabricated using an electros pinning process. And PC-12 cells cultured on substrates were simulated with newer growth factor and laminar flow shear stress in a fluid flow system. The results suggest that micro fiber substrates and fluid-induced shear stress are promising for simulating neuronal regeneration in a desired direction.
