There exists a major impediment to learning electricity which may illuminate why direct presentation of scientists' ideas is too aggressive a strategy. This impediment lies in thinking that electricity is used up and in envisaging the light bulb as a consumer. This view is based on a powerful idea which summarises much of our experience; it declares that 'things get used up', 'you cannot get something for nothing', and 'intuitive thinking'. To replace this view with scientific view, we made the analogy model. It is suggested that the analogy model is more effective in teaching electricity circuits than conventional teaching method.

This study explored how elementary school students think bulbs' parallel and series connection. For the purpose, 590 elementary school students were randomly selected from the 5th grade to 6th grade each two class, and we have devised and applied a questionnaire consisting of multiple choice questions and the selecting reasons. The results can be summarized as follows. Firstly, the mean values was less than 60, so students' understanding was insufficient in all the grades. The 5th graders understood best bulbs' parallel and series connection because they learned the related contents. Also, most students thought parallel connection more difficult than series. Secondly, gender difference in the mean values was not statistically significant an the range of bulbs' parallel connection. Thirdly, it was manifest that when students discriminated series in the presented circuits, according to a part of the circuit, i.e., batteries' or bulbs' arrangement, or connected wires' state, they decided whether the circuit is parallel or series. With regard to the present results, teaching the unit related with electric circuit, teachers need to device students' learning sequence about parallel and series connection. Also, current and voltage have to be differentiated from the 4th grade in order to provide students with a view of the phenomenon of current flow that includes the idea of a flow of something in a circuit and the idea of a driving "force" of that flow but that also allows to distinguish these issues.

Many students are willing not to change their concept of science. They have much difficulty in learning science. So, there are many researches that learning science frequently requires the process of conceptual change. In approaches that focus on conceptual change, cognitive conflict strategies play a key role. It underlies Piaget's genetic epistemology in which disequilibration demands an strategies between assimilation and accommodation until equilibrium is restored. Disequilibration is very important in learning science. This study is intended to interpret the conceptual change of heat in learning science.
수축저감제 혼입률 변화에 따른 콘크리트의 공학적 특성에 관한 연구

In this paper, tests are carried out using concrete incorporating shrinkage reducing agent(SR) in order to investigate the engineering properties of concrete. The contents of SR and W/C are varied. According to test results, as for fresh concrete, as SR content increases, slump and air content shows decline tendency, and setting time is accelerated with increase of SR content and decrease of W/C. As for compressive strength, as SR contents increases compressive strength shows to be decreased. As for the effect of SR on drying shrinkage, it shows to be reduced with increase of SR content. This is due to the reduced surface tensile strength of water and tensile strength of capillary pore in concrete.

염류형 광물을 부선할 때는 포수제로서 sodium oleate가 널리 사용되고 있다. 이때 sodium oleate가 광물의 표면을 소수성으로 만들어 주는데 여기에 영향을 주는 요소가 많다. 여기서는 그중 중요한 온도, 산소분압, 용액의 화확적 성질 등을 고찰한다. 기포가 광물표면에 점착하는 시간 및 접촉각을 측정해본 결과 이들의 영향이 지극히 크다는 것이 밝혀졌다. 이들 결과를 고찰해 볼때 불포화 oleyl chain들의 상호작용이 중요하다고 생각된다. 이 상호작용은 매우 복잡하다. 2중 겹합의 산화와 또 이웃의 oleyl chain들 사이에는 cross-linking이 일어날 수 있는 가능성도 있다.

Minor utterance can be considered as an utterance within text. It can be also considered as of ellipsis sentence because of imperfect linguistic formation. It can be defind as irregular sentence because it cannot restored after ellipsis. This research aims to explore minor utterance in Korean particularly in novel, 「Taebaeksanmaek」. It sets up the definition, characteristics and stereotype of minor utterance. Also it explores the way in which the minor utterance is used through the text. In particular, This research examines representative speech act, directive speech act, commissive speech act, expressive re-speech act declarative speech act by analysis according to the minor utterances illocutionary act in Korean.

134 Dutch cone (mechanical cone) and 9 piezocone (electronic cone) penetration tests have been performed in the southwestern part of Korea. In general, Dutch cone results may be different from that of piezocone due to the difference in structure of the cones. 6 Dutch cone and piezocone test data which were obtained at the same point respectively, were analyzed and plotted in soil classification chart proposed by Robertson et. al.(1986, 1990). Cone factors of Dutch cone and piezocone test empirically have been determined using laboratory and field vane test results. Using this cone factors, it was shown that there was good correlation between shear strength estimated using cone resistance and that of laboratory test and field vane tests. It was found that there was a good correlation between cone resistance from Dutch cone and that from piezocone. Relationship formula was also suggested. Dutch cone test provides a useful means for stratigraphic profiling in large project and has some advantage over piezocone in particular situations, such as very soft clay ground and dredged area.
