Platycodon grandiflorum root-derived saponins attenuate atopic dermatitis-like skin lesions via suppression of NF-kB and STAT1 and activation of Nrf2/ARE-mediated heme oxygenase-1

Purpose: The consequences of precipitously rising allergic skin inflammation rates worldwide have accelerated the risk of atopic dermatitis (AD). Natural product-based agents with good efficacy and low risk of side effects offer promising prevention and treatment strategies for inflammation-related diseases. We have already reported that Platycodon grandiflorum root-derived saponins (Changkil saponins, CKS) have many pharmacological effects, including anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic effects, but its influence on AD remains unclear. Therefore, we evaluated the inhibitory effect of CKS, mainly platycodin D, on AD-like skin symptoms in mice and the possible mechanisms in cells. Methods: Mice were sensitized and challenged with 2,4-dinitrochlorobenzene (DNCB). Four weeks after challenge, mice were treated with oral administration of CKS for 4 weeks. In addition, cells were used to evaluate the effect of CKS, mainly platycodin D, on the TARC expression regulated mechanism. Results: CKS attenuated DNCB-induced dermatitis severity, serum levels of IgE and TARC, and mRNA expression of TARC, TNF-α, IFN-γ, IL-4, IL-5, and IL-13 in mice. Histopathological examination showed reduced thickness of the epidermis/dermis and dermal infiltration of inflammatory cells and mast cells in the ears. Moreover, CKS and platycodin D inhibited TNF-α/IFN-γ-induced TARC expression through the suppression of NF-κB and STAT1 and induction of Nrf2/ARE-mediated hemeoxygenase-1 (HO-1) expression in cells. Conclusion: We suggest that CKS and platycodin D inhibited the development of AD-like skin symptoms by regulating cytokine mediators and may be an effective alternative therapy for AD-like skin symptoms.ⓒ2014 Elsevler Gmbh. 대중스타, 대중매체, 종교교육

이 글은 세 부분으로 구성되어 있다. 첫째, 현대판 영웅인 대중 스타는 문자 그대로 '인기 있는 사람'이지만 그가 반드시 '유명한 사람'이거나 '사랑 받는 사람'은 아니다. 그렇다고 우리는 대중 스타를 단순히 마이크 체질을 가진 사람, 탤런트 기질이 있는 사람, 딴따라 소질이 있는 사람 등으로 비하시킬 수도 없다. 대증 스타의 기반은 뭐니뭐니 해도 대중의 지지와 박수일 수밖에 없기 때문이다. 여기서 나는 대중 스타의 성격, 대중 스타의 탄생 과정, 그리고 대중스타에 대한 우리들의 잘못된 시각을 간단히 설명한다. 둘째, 한편 우리는 대중의 순수한 지지 혹은 대중 매체의 일방적인 조작이 대중 스타를 만든다고 믿고 있다. 그러나 모든 대증 스타는 대중의 지지와 대중 매체의 협조라는 쌍두마차에 의하여 탄생한다. 그림에도 대중 스타와 대중 매체의 정확한 관계를 설명한다는 것은 거의 불가능할 정도로 복잡하다. 여기서 나는 대중 매체의 엄청난 위력과 독특한 두 가지 속성을 비교적 상세히 설명한다. 셋째, 그러면 대중 문화와 종교 교육의 관계는 무엇인가? 여기서 나는 종교 교육을 교양 교육의 일부로 소개하고, 대중 문화는-수많은 문제점에도 불구하고-여전히 우리들의 교양의 일부라는 입장에서 그들의 만남과 그 만남에서 나타나는 위험성을 간단히 설명한다. Religion is one of the most important factors determining the identity of a society as the ultimate value and belief system. The identity of Korean had been formed by the religios such as Shamanism, Taoism, Buddhism, and Confucianism. We investigated interaction between the Catholic doctrines and the Confucianistic tradition which caused extreme conflict in the late ChoSun dynasty when the Catholic and Western culture were first introduced. The historical introductory process of the Catholic is briefly reviewed, and the identity conflicts were considered in theology, ethics, human relations in society. In the conflict-period dichotomic thoughts prevailed to choose only one of two conflicting belief-systems. However, in the late 20th century more mutually admissive mind has arised, and mutual understanding and benefit between the traditional culture and the Catholic teachings has been slowly appreciated to develop matured religious education and inculturation of Catholicism. Now in the 21st century Koreans have experienced identity crisis which is caused by the fast development of material civilization and industrialigation one hand, and the whirlwind of various cultures and religions on the other hand. Based upon the long experience of religious education in the Catholic one should contribute with renewed identity formation and maturation for Korean society. Everybody wants to be a star, and everybody in fact tries to be a star consciously or unconsciously. This is way Marshall McLuhan said that "the stars are so big, the earth is so small." But we have to notice that a star is not necessarily a respected or loved person from the mass. He may be so famous that he can make lots of money to the extent that many ordinary people are very envious of him, but he can still remain as a stranger. For example, the man who discovers a new law to replace Einstein's relativity principle will be surely famous enough to receive a Nobel prize, but it is still possible that most people don't care about him very much. This paper consist of three parts. In the first part, I explain briefly some main characteristics of a star, how he is born to be a star, and some of our misunderstandings we usually have toward a star. In the second part, I explain complicated relationships between a star and mass media. Here I specially emphasize a tremendous power of mass media. There are not many modern men who can live without paying any attention to the mass media. Mass media are within us. Here I also emphasize two peculiar characteristics of mass media, i. e., that medium itself is the message, and that there is always a possibity of manipulation by the mass media. In the third part, I explain a seemingly remote but in fact close relationships between mass media and general education. Here I conclude that religious education is a part general education, and that there can be no general education which rejects all functions of mass media. This is why religious education must work together with mass media, although there are many obstacles we have to overcome.

인터넷상거래에서 공동물류 활용 방안에 관한 연구

In a traditional business environment purchase ordered products are normally obtained right after they are paid, however in an Internet business environment except for the digitized products we have to wait until they are delivered to the delivery address. The delivery cost occupies a big portion of the total buying cost and the delivery time is an important factor to facilitate Internet business. When we use Internet shops, their Internet addresses are to be memorized. Each Internet shop has various ways of payment and delivery system. Meta shopping mall is a mall of malls where lots of Internet shopping malls are doing their own business. In a meta shopping mall system, an efficient logistics and distribution system can be used to minimize the total logistics and distribution costs. In this paper and 0/1 integer model and its solution procedure are proposed to minimize the total logistics and distribution cost and to meet the delivery time requirement. And also the application areas of this model is proposed.

Li_2O-Al_2O_3-SiO_2계 結晶化유리에서 Al_2O_3·SiO_2 mole比에 따른 結晶化 및 特性變化에 관한 硏究

The effect of Al_2O_3, SiO_2 mole ratio on the properties and crtstallization in Li_2O-Al_2O_3-SiO_2 glass-ceramics were investigated. the base glass composition range were Li_2O, 1-1.8 Al_2O_3, 4-8 SiO_2 with TiO_2 and ZrO_2 4wt% in same TiO_2, ZrO_2 mole ratio as a nucleation agents. the nucleation and crystallzation temp of the base glass were 790℃ and 1150℃ respectively. the main crystalline phases in glass-ceramics were β-spodumene and secondary crystal phas was β-eusryptite. As the mole ratio of Al_2O_3, transition temp and softening temp were increased, but according to the SiO_2 mole ration only these temps were decreased. Hardness according to the SiO_2·Al_2O_3 moral ratio was increased. the thermal expansion coefficient of glass-ceramic showed a low on below 10×10 exp(-7)/℃.

Congenital dermal sinus(CDS) is a rare entity widely known to occur as a result of the of the failure of the neuroectoderm to separate from the cutaneous ectoderm during the process of neurulation at the third to fifth week of gestation. The lesion can occur at any level of the craniospinal axis. but are located predominantly at the lumbosacral and occipital legion CDS of thoracic region and cervical region are rare The patient with CDS presents with meningitis and/or mass effect from the associated inclusion tumor They ars usually dermoid or epidermoid cyst. Teratoma is rarely associated with CDS. We report our experience of CDS in an 11-month old boy associated with an lntramedullary dermoid tumor at the thoracic region and together we report a review of the literature.
