      • Possibility of Application of Artificial Insemination Buffer (AIB) for Increasing of Production Efficiency of Female Cow Offspring

        The present research was carried out to evaluate the possibility of female offspring production using artificial insemination buffer (AIB) before artificial insemination (AI). To do it, we carried out the optimization of AIB, making of AIB gun and analysis of affecting AI rate after AIB treatment. AIB made with the base of Tris‐buffer supplemented with L‐arginine and several materials that could be reduced the motility of male sperm compared with female one. This mean that female sperm could be increased the possibility of fertilization with ovum compared with male one. AIB must be deposited into 2nd to 4th cervix by the guide of AIB gun. After 15 min of AIB insertion, frozen semen was deposited into same place after. Total 352 cattle were inseminated with AIB insemination and was not significant difference between AIB and traditional AI rate (56.8 vs. 55.7%). However, AIB AI rate was significantly differs among 12 different farms. The parturition number of cows did not effect on AIB AI rate among 1st to 7th parturition number of cows. The proportion of AIB AI success rates in hanwoo cows was significantly higher than in dairy cows (61.0% vs. 48.7%), but the average AI success rate was not different between AIB and conventional AI (56.8% vs. 55.7%). The female offspring production rate in 2nd to 4th cervix deposition place was significantly higher than in uterus body (77.7% vs. 59.6%, p<0.05). The injection volume of AIB in 5 and 10 ml was significantly higher than in 2 ml (77.7, 78.7 vs. 51.8%, p<0.05), but not different between 5 and 10 ml ABI volume. The best exposure time of AIB in the cervix was 10 and 15 min rather than that of 5 min (79.2%, 77.2% vs. 63.2%, p< 0.05), and so AIB have to expose at least 10 min to get higher female offspring. In conclusion, AIB could be used in AI industry to produce female offspring and also AIB AI can be increased the AI success rate compared with traditional AI rate.

        방역작업자의 브롬화메틸(methyl bromide) 노출수준과 생물학적 모니터링

        This study was performed to estimate environmental and biological monitoring of worker exposed to methyl bromide through quarantine fumigation. Airborne methyl bromide and it's metabolites were analyzed by gas chromatography and ion chromatography, respectively. The results are as followings; airborne concentration of methyl bromide(TWA) was 2.08±1.56 ppm(N=8). Dispersion and setting/degas groups were 0.67±0.12 ppm(N=2) and 2.54±1.53ppm(N=6), respectively. Bromide ion concentration in serum was 23.40±14.91㎎/ℓ(N=10) in the exposed workers and 4.74±0.82㎎/ℓ(N=21) in the non-exposed workers. Bromide ion concentration in urine was 35.56±26.89㎎/ℓ(N=11) in exposed group and 6.62±2.31㎎/ℓ(N=21) in non-exposed group. Good correlation was observed between concentration of serum and urine(r^2=0.890 p<0.01). No significant correlations of other determinanats were observed. Calcuated from a regressive curve. the biological half lifes of serum and urine were 10.7 and 5.9 days. In these results, biological monitoring of bromide ion of serum and urine provided useful information for evaluating exposure of workers to methyl bromide, so that an availability of bromide ion of biological samples was showed as biological monitoring indices for methyl bromide.

        본 논문에서는 공조용 냉각탑에서 사용되는 축류팬의 최적 설계 기술의 개발 및 이를 이용한 금형 제작을 다루었다. 팬 블레이드 주위의 3차원 유동 해석을 기반으로 저소음, 고효율을 보장하는 설계 방법을 개발하였고 이를 CAD/CAM 시스템을 이용하여 3차원 스파인 곡면으로 모델링한 후 시험용 금형을 제작하였다. 특히 설계 방법은 Win95 환경에서 3차원 곡면 모델링을 이용하여 구현함으로서 사용자가 쉽게 이용할 수 있도록 하였다 In this Paper, an optimal design systems and die manufacturing of axial fan for cooling towers is developed. The design is based on 3-D flow analysis to ensure low noise and high efficiency. Three dimensional surface modeling and computer graphics is introduced to display the design data on computer, and CAD/CAM systems are used for modeling and manufacturing its die. The design and die manufacturing processes are automated through a self-made interface program which converts the design data to a part program for CAM system. It is shown that the newly developed fan has a superior performance characteristics to an existing fan.

      • 한국인의 미의식의 정형에 대한 종교사적 접근

        I think of the musok religion as the prototype forming the features of our formative arts. Nobody denies that the physical environment, like the Korean climate and natural features, affects it completely. But I judge tha I have already failed to explain the properties of formative arts with the things above. Even though I may say that our art is just a Buddhist art since the period of the three kingdoms, there is some part which we can't explain with just Buddhist idea. And Confucianism which followed Buddhism has conflicted with Buddhism, but still maintained the mainstream of the formative arts. So we put musok religion in the right place. The effect which we have received from the ideas is too deep and massive, but I've tried to find the prototype which has produced the beauties of formative arts on the view of nature out of them. The ideas of circulation and unspecialization are the primary factors which formed the view of nature in musok. They mixed up buddhist transmigrationism, superstition, christan view of the future life and practical morality of Confucianism ingeniously. And they passed through the solidification, the mutual complement and the process of transformation. We think that they formed the main frame of Korean perception with which Koreans have confronted the formative arts. And that frame hasformed the unique way of seeing named view points of ideology and generality such ways of judging shaped the code of conducts of artists. The Korean attitude which was formed like this characterizes the formative arts in idelolgy, plain, visibility out of invisibility,simplicity, transparency, anonymity and division of unit. * Musok: peculiar shamanism in area around Korea.

      • 연속법을 이용한 정적 구조변위응답의 설계 민감도 해석

        In the structural design process, design modifications are carried out in case that structural analysis results are not satisfied with design criteria. Accurate design change can be achieved with the design sensitivity information which is the relevant numeric data between structural response and design variables. In this paper continuum method is utilized to get sensitivity based on variational formulation and structural analysis is performed by the established finite element code ANSYS. Once the finite elements and sectional properties (design variables) are defined after the structural analysis using ANSYS, sensitivity of each finite element is calculated in external sensitivity modules. For the numerical test, design sensitivity of the static deflection of truss, beam, plate, and simplified ship structure is computed and the accuracy is verified by the finite difference method.

        十全大補湯이 抗癌劑를 投與한 생쥐의 胸腺細胞에 미치는 影響

        The purpose of this research was to investigate effects of Sipjeon-Daebo-Tang(SDT) on thymocytes of anti-tumor drugs administered mice. DNA fragmentation, mitochondrial transmembrane potential and subpopulation were tested using a flow cytometry. and the cell viability was tested using a MTT assay. Etoposide, vincristine and doxorubicin enhanced DNA fragmentation and reduced mitochondrial transmembrane potential of thymocytes, but SDT recoverd the action of vincristine and doxorubicin. Etoposide or vincristine decreased the population of CD4 single positive cell in thymocytes, but SDT enhanced the population of CD4+ single positive cell. Etoposide, vincristine and doxorubicin decreased the cell viability of thymocytes, but SDT enhanced the cell viability. These results suggest that SDT has a regulative function of thymocytes in anti-tumor drugs administered mice.

        This study was purposed to investigate the effect of yukmijihwangtang on rat blood components and organ histopathologic changes in the different environments of hyperbaric ambient air. The pharmacological effects of yukmijiwhangtang in oriental medicine have been reported to improve general condition and treat mental and physical weakness due to overload. 84 Male Sparague-Dawely rats, 200-250 g weight, were housed two per cage, fed Standard Rodent Diet with water ad libitum. The animals were assigned to 3 main groups for the blood components and gas analysis : normobaric control group (NC ; N=4), hyperbaric control group (HC ; N=8), hyperbaric medication group (HM ; N=8). HC and HM group were devided into 2 subgroups and kept on different situation of the hyperbaric ambient air (2ATA or 3ATA) for 2 hrs. HM group was administered 10cc extract of boiled yukmijiwhangtang before exposure. For histopathological analysis, hyperbaric groups(HC and HM : N=80) was further devided into 2 subgroups according to atmosphere absolute and exposure period : 2ATA (acute, 1, 2, 3, 4 wks), 3ATA (acute, 1, 2, 3, 4 wks). There were 20 groups in total, with 4 animals in each group. Experimental rats of HM group were administered 10cc extract of boiled yukmijiwhangtang 2 times per day and kept on situation of the hyperbaric ambient air (2ATA and 3ATA) 2 hrs per day for four weeks. In order to record the possible effects of yukmijiwhangtang in hyperbaric condition on the blood components, the rats were killed by decapitation directly after the hyperbaric exposure for 2 hrs. But the administered rats were killed on the morning following the last hyperbaric exposure during 4 wks. The samples were taken 2 hrs, 1, 2, 3, 4 wks after the begining of this study. Blood was collected from posterior abdominal vena cava immediately after decapitation. Organs for histopathological assays in hyperbaric groups (HC and HM) were also removed 2 hrs, 1, 2, 3, 4 wks and fixed at 10% formalin solution. The whole blood of 1㎖ was used for the analysis of pH, PO₂, PCO₂, HCO₃, BE, O₂CT, O₂SAT level by Blood Gas Autoanalyzer (Coning 175, U.S.A). And The rest whole blood of 1㎖ was utilized for the measurement of WBC (white blood cell), RBC (red blood cell), Hb (hemoglobin), Hct (hematocrit), MCV (mean corpuscular volume), MCH (mean corpuscular hemoglobin) level by Microcell Counter (Model; CC-170-TDA Co., Japan). Hematological and blood gas analysis and organ histopathological changes after exposure to hyperbaric ambient air were as follow; (1) Hematological parameters were lower in the hyperbaric medication group than all the control groups without WBC, MCV (2ATA) and MCV, MCH (3ATA). But a statistical significance among the groups was not shown. (2) The hyperbaric medication group was lower than another control groups on all parameters of blood gas analysis after 2 hours exposure to hyperbaric ambient air (2ATA and 3ATA) without O₂SAT. But a statistical significance among the groups was not shown. (3) On observing the histopathological system of the lung with microscope, the congestion, edema and hemorrhage on the alveolar sacs and alveolar wall damage in the hyperbaric control group were heavier than in the hyperbaric medication group.
