The purpose of the study was to investigate relationships among life satisfaction of the elderly women in poor-health conditions, with their self-esteem, health and financial status, family relations, and social participation. A structured questionnaire was used to interview a sample of 168 elderly women who were randomly selected from Sungbuk-ku, Seoul. The statistical methods used were percentiles, means, standard deviations, Cronbach`s α, Pearson`s correlations and a multiple regression. The regression analysis showed that the most powerful predictor of satisfaction of the poor-health elderly women was their self esteem, followed by relationships with their adult children, perceived financial status, age, and the amount of allowances. These variables accounted for 41.7% of life satisfaction of the sample. Implications for the policy-makers and practitioners were further discussed.

Reactive oxygen species are involved in inflammatory reaction & lipid peroxidation of skin induced by ultraviolet radiation. The aim of this study was to investigate a protective effect of topical EGb 761 on ultraviolet B induced inflammation and lipid peroxidation in ICR mice. Lipid peroxidation in skin was assessed by thiobarbituric acid reactive substances(TBARS) levels, while skin-fold thickness was used as the measure of UVB-induced inflammation. EGb 761 was topically applied to the skin for 7 days before a single dose of 2KJ/㎡ UVB irradiation. In irradiated skin, maximal skin swelling occurred at 24h, lipid peroxides were increased at 3h after irradiation. Topical application of 1% EGb 761 reduced edema response and lipid peroxide levels. In conclusion, we suggest that topical application of EGb 761 before UVB irradiation acts as a photoprotective agent.
漕挺選手들의 合宿訓練時 LDL-C, TG, HDL-C의 變化

The study was carried to investigate the effect of endurance training, performed six days per week at approximately 140∼ 180 beats/min on LDL - cholesterol, Triglceride, HDL - cholesterol in the midest lipids components. The subjects in this study were eight competitive rowing player (male 4, female : 4). After being fully informed of the risks and stresses associated with participation, each subject signed on institutionally approved consent form. The ferquency of exercise on training schedual was performed six day per week, and the time of exercise was 6 hours a day.The results through the staistical analysis of LDL-choleterol triglyceride, HDL-cholesterol in lipid components were as follows. ①Serum lipid components of subjects (mal, female)were on the ideal level. ②In triglycerides compoments were changes, significant difference from second sessions the each group(P<0.05). ③In LDC - Cholesterol were changes significant difference from second sessions in the male group(P<0.05).from third sessions in the female group (P<0.05). ④In HDL - cholesterol were changes significant difference from third sesions in the each groups (P< 0.05) In conclusion I followed difference in the changes of lipid components before and after long term training.And I think that will need more study about the total-cholesterol, HDC - Cholesterol ratio etcs.

The Collar, which is an important factor of clothing with the sleeve and waist, shows the characteristics of costume. In order to make clear the explanation of clothing as a expression and play on important role as a motive which can give an inspiration in the creation of fashion, Collar is classified at each century and the variaties of shape are investigated. A study on the shape of collar from late in the middle age to 19th century was carried out and summarized as follows. An acute angle silhouette of late in the middle developed into high standing collar and it is the most simple shape collar. Variaties of ruff collar shape harmonied with skirt width in 16th century. Lace production from late in the 16th to 17th century had on impact on creation of medici, alizabeth collar and fashioned falling band collar immediately. Redingote of a forefather in woman coat was in fashion during 18th century and this clothes have tailored collar of lapel. Clothes restoration of 19th century reappeared bateau, straight neckline and on the other hand civil society and industrial development fore suitable for each type of function. The results are summarized as follows. 1) Construction element of clothes is created and developed by culture background continually. 2) Collar is harmonied with whole spape of clothes, therefore that is important to the fashion line. 3) Collar has its fashionable characteristics in the shape, but has been always variable in one period. 4) Seen form the collar which shows an excessive decoration beyond its practical use. 5) Shape of collar makes a some differences at every period but fashion is repeated. 6) Ruff; Fichu; Pelerin collar are shape of separative collar and that have various effect on taking off and attachment of clothes.

Subcritical water hydrolysis was carried out in a batch reactor to produce valuable materials, such as low-molecular weight (MW) peptides and essential amino acids with antiowidant properties, from heat-dried squid viscera. Hydrolysis of squid viscera was performed at 160 to 280°C for 3 min. The yield was increased by increasing the temperature and pressure, while the protein content of squid viscera hydrolysate decreased with increasing temperature. Low-MW peptides were detected in all hydrolysates by sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. The highest yields of free and structural amino acids in heat-dried squid viscera hydrolysate were at 160°C and were 411.95±1.15 and 346.62±1.25 mg/100 g, respectively. All essential amino acids were detected in viscera hydrolysates; leucine was the most abundant. Antioxidant activities of hydrolysates were highest at 220°C. Greater than 98±0.26% of the ABTS antioxidant activity was retained in hydrolysates after long-term heat treatment.

The influence regarding the dehydrogenation speed, at the desorption-recombination state during the hydrogenation-disproportionation-desorption-recombination (HDDR) process, on the microstructure and magnetic properties of Nd-Fe-B magnetic powders has been studied. Strip cast Nd-Fe-B-based alloys were subjected to the HDDR process after the homogenization heat treatment. During the desorption-recombination stage, both the pumping speed and time of hydrogen were systematically changed in order to control the speed of the desorption-recombination reaction. The magnetic properties of HDDR powders were improved as the pumping speed of hydrogen at the desorption-recombination stage was decreased. The lower pumping speed resulted in a smaller grain size and higher DoA. The coercivity and the remanence of the 200-300 μm sized HDDR powder increased from 12.7 to 14.6 kOe and from 8.9 to 10.0 kG, respectively. In addition, the remanence was further increased to 11.8 kG by milling the powders down to about 25-90 μm, resulting in (BH)max of 28.8 MGOe.
