        온풍 조건에서 수분 탈락 정도에 따른 피부 분류 및 개선 방안에 대한 연구

        피부를 탄력있고 부드럽게 하는 역할은 각질층에 존재하는 수분량에 의해 좌우된다. 피부 수분량은 냉온풍, 건조환경 등 다양한 환경 변화에 의해 영향을 받음이 알려져 있으나, 개인 피부 차이에 따른 피부수분량 변화와 회복 정도에 대해서는 많은 연구가 이루어 지지 않은 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 온풍 조건하에서 피시험자들의 피부 수분 탈락 및 회복 정도를 비교 평가하여 새로운 피부 타입을 제시하고, 온풍 조건에서 저하되는 피부 수분량을 개선 시켜주는 효능 물질을 개발하고자 하였다. 온풍 환경 조성을 위해, 건강한 피험자(남: 10 명, 여: 39 명, 25 세 - 63 세)의 전완부에 온풍(30 cm, 40 ℃, 6 m/s)을 30 min 간 피부에 노출시켜, 피부 수분량의 변화를 평가하였다. 26명(남: 4 명, 여: 22 명, 평균 연령: 42.7 ± 9.4)이 온풍 노출전에 비하여 온풍 노출 후 수분량이 유의하게 감소하며, 노출 후 30 min이 지나도 회복이 되지 않았다. 온풍노출 후 수분량이 떨어지는 피험자(여: 10 명)를 대상으로 보수력이 높은 크림을 3 주간 전완부에 적용한 이후 동일 온풍 조건하에서 피부 수분량을 측정한 결과, 노출 30 min 후 피부 수분량이 온풍 노출 전 수준으로 회복됨을 확인하였다. 본 연구를 통하여 피부는 건조 조건에서 쉽게 수분을 잃어버리는 피부(탈수형 피부)가 존재하는 것을 확인하였다. 이는 앞으로 화장품 개발을 보습 기능뿐만 아니라, 이러한 환경변화에 따른 피부수분이 쉽게 빠져나가는 피부(탈수형 피부)의 특성에 맞는 제품의 효능 개발이 필요함을 보여준다. Elasticity and softness of the skin depend on the level of moisture present in the stratum corneum, which is known to be affected by various environmental changes, such as cold and hot winds and dry environments. However, not many studies have been conducted on changes in skin moisture and the degree of recovery due to individual skin differences. In the present study, we aimed to investigate the effect of warm air heating on skin hydration levels and develop moisturizing formulas to improve lowered skin hydration levels. In order to deliver warm air heating condition, heating dryer (40 ℃, 6 m/s, 30 cm apart from forearm) was applied into inner forearm of healthy subjects (male: 10, female: 39, age: 25 - 63) Among 49 subjects, 26 subjects showed significantly lowered skin hydration levels until 30 min after warm air heating exposure (lowered group). In addition, moisturizing cream with high water holding capacity was applied to forearm of 10 subjects in lowered group for 3 weeks and skin hydration levels after warm air heating were significantly improved at the levels of before application of warm air heating. From this study, we found out that there is a skin type that skin hydration levels are significantly decreased under warm air heating condition (dehydrated skin) and this dehydrated skin can be improved by moisturizing formulas with high water holding capacity.

        Differentiation of Desmoplastic Spitz Nevus from Similar Conditions

        The diagnosis of classic Spitz nevus with characteristic histopathologic findings is often straightforward, but unusual variants can cause diagnostic difficulties. Desmoplastic Spitz nevus (DSN) is of particular importance, as its differential diagnosis from other diseases, including desmoplastic malignant melanoma (DMM), is essential but often difficult<sup>1</sup>. A 38-year-old Caucasian woman presented with a 6-mm brownish papule of unknown onset on the dorsum of her left hand (Fig. 1A). She did not report any change in the papule size, trauma history, or related symptoms, but she wanted to have the lesion removed. Punch excision of the specimen revealed proliferation of individual spindle and epithelioid cells with scanty pigmentation within dense colla-genous dermal stroma (Fig. 1B, C). The specimen was focal positive for S-100 and HMB-45, positive for Melan-A, and 1% positive for Ki-67 (Fig. 2A∼C). The lesion did not recur after punch excision at the 1-year follow-up. Since its first report in 1975, there have been only a few case series of DSN owing to the rarity of this disease and its under-recognition, except for intermittent case reports<sup>1-3</sup>. DSN usually presents as a small red-brown papule on the trunk and extremities. It can occur at any age, but is mostly observed in young adults, with a slight female predominance. The distinctive histopathologic features of DSN―an intradermal growth pattern of large spindle or epithelioid nevus cells embedded in a fibrotic stroma, sparse melanin pigment, no junctional activity, no Kamino bodies, no prominent nest formation―can aid its differentiation from clinical simulators. Additionally, immunohistochemistry is essential for a differential diagnosis. DSN tests positive for S-100, Melan-A, and HMB-45, whereas dermatofibroma is negative for all three<sup>3</sup>. Hypomelanotic blue nevus shows uniform positivity for HMB-45, whereas DSN shows differential expression in most spindled cells3. The distinction between DSN and DMM is the most important. DMM is more common in elderly patients and tends to occur on sun-damaged head and neck areas. It also shows cellular atypia, strong mitotic activity and Ki-67 expression, less frequent S-100 and Melan-A positivity, and almost exclusive negativity for HMB-45<sup>2,3</sup>. Some researchers regarded DSN as an end stage of Spitz nevus that had lost continuity with the epidermis and undergone fibrosis. Paniago-Pereira et al.<sup>2</sup> also reported that DSNs occurred in patients older than 30 years. These findings suggest that desmoplasia might be an aging process of Spitz nevus. However, Barr et al.1 found no significant difference in patient age, disease duration, or trauma history between patients with DSN and common variants of Spitz nevus, and suggested that desmoplasia may be a tumor-induced reactive stromal induction rather than a regressive phenomenon. The pathogenesis of desmoplasia has not yet been clearly elucidated. Moreover, it is controversial whether DSN should be regarded as a variant of Spitz nevus or whether it belongs to a spectrum of desmoplastic nevus as a distinctive entity<sup>3,4</sup>. Some researchers5 suggested strict diagnostic criteria for de-smoplastic nevus, including greater cellularity in the super-ficial portion, and a mixture of melanocytic nevus cells, ovoid and dendritic melanocytes, and spitzoid melanocytes. Further, they mentioned that lesions in which one particular type of melanocyte predominates over others are more likely to represent DSN. Dermoscopic findings can also aid the distinction, because DSN shows dotted vessels and reticular depigmentation whereas desmoplastic nevus demonstrates a delicate pigment network over a pinkish background<sup>4</sup>. Although it is regrettable that we did not acquire dermoscopic image to support the diagnosis, our case overall seems more com-patible with DSN. However, the probability of a morphologic spectrum that embraces DSN and desmoplastic nevus cannot be excluded, and requires further studies. Here, we report an unusual desmoplastic variant of Spitz nevus with a literature review, and propose keynotes for differential diagnosis from its simulators, especially DMM.

        Comparing hemostatic resuscitation management of intraoperative massive bleeding with traumatic massive bleeding: a computer simulation

        Background: Appropriate blood component transfusion might differ between intraoperative massive bleeding and traumatic massive bleeding in the emergency department because trauma patients initially bleed undiluted blood and replacement typically lags behind blood loss. We compared these two blood loss scenarios, intraoperative and traumatic, using a computer simulation. Methods: We modified the multi-compartment dynamic model developed by Hirshberg and implemented it using STELLA 9.0. In this model, blood pressure changes as blood volume fluctuates as bleeding rate and transcapillary refill rate are controlled by blood pressure. Using this simulation, we compared the intraoperative bleeding scenario with the traumatic bleeding scenario. In both scenarios, patients started to bleed at a rate of 50 ml/min. In the intraoperative bleeding scenario, fluid was administered to maintain isovolemic status; however, in the traumatic bleeding scenario, no fluid was supplied for up to 30 min and no blood was supplied for up to 50 min. Each unit of packed red blood cells (PRBC) was given when the hematocrit decreased to 27%, fresh frozen plasma (FFP) was transfused when plasma was diluted to 30%, and platelet concentrate (PC) was transfused when platelet count became 50,000/ml. Results: In both scenarios, the appropriate ratio of PRBC:FFP was 1:0.47 before PC transfusion, and the ratio of PRBC:FFP:platelets was 1:0.35:0.39 after initiation of PC transfusion. Conclusion: The ratio of transfused blood component did not differ between the intraoperative bleeding and traumatic bleeding scenarios.

        The purpose of this study is to investigate influences on the view of value in sport based on the degree of participation in sport activities of middle and high school students. In order to construct this study, 335 middle and high school students in Seoul were represented in 1997, using "stratified cluster random sampling method" A questionnaire for this study, transformed from "value division model of Allport, Vernon, and Lindzey (1960)," was verified through pre-test, reliability and validity and designed to answer the questions with self-administrated method. The analysis of this data was done by oneway ANOVA. Based upon the result of the study, the following conclusions appear warranted: 1. The frequency of participation in sport has an influence on the value in sport. That is, the frequency of participation causes the change social value. 2. The length of participation in sport has an influence on the value in sport. That is, the length of participation causes the change of theoretical value, aesthetic value, economic value, political value, religious value. 3. The intensity of participation in sport has an influence on the value in sport. That is, the intensity of participation causes the change of economic value, social value.

      • 유화중합을 이용한 4원공중합 바인더의 제조와 특성

        Styrene-Acrylonitrile-Ethylacrylate-N-Methyloacryamide Prepared by emulsion polymerization has broad applications for additives such as paint binder, adhesive for wood and paper due to its low glass transition temperature which help to plasticize substrate resins. Since emulsion polymerization has disadvantage that surfactant and ionic initiator degrade properties of the product polymer, Poly(St-EA-AN-NMA) was synthesized using ammonium persulfate(APS) as catalyst and sodium lauryl sulfate(SLS) as emulsion to prevent the degradation. The copolymer binder product was internally plasticized and has enhanced colloid stability, adhesion, tensile strength and elongation. During binder emulsion polymerization, no coagulation and complete conversion occur with the reactant mixture of 3.34wt%/monomer ammonium persulfate, 2.33wt%/monomer sodium lauryl sulfate, and the balanced monomer that the weight ratio of Styrene, Ethylacrylate, Acrylonitrile are 47wt%/monomer, 32wt%/monomer, 6.4wt%/monomer. The activation energies for 37, 42, 47, 52% Styrene content were checked as 28.1~36kcal/mol by Kissinger's method. Actually, reasonable solid content could be considered as 56% because of activation energy and adhesive characteristics.

      • SA-ASTM 주사기법에 의한 악취발생량 평가 및 무취공기 표준화에 관한 연구

        New methodology to evaluate the complex odor phenomenon was investigated, as called SA-ASTM(Sensor Aided ASTM ) syringe method. Specially we studied on the standardization of non-odorous air which is very important procedure in measuring odorous gas including our SA-ASTM syringe method. We examined the odor sensor value of standard hydrogen sulfide gas and non-odorous air made with ambient and cylinder air. The decision coefficient between H2S concentration and odor sensor value showed 0.992, and correlation formula between olfactory odor degree(Y) and odor sensor value(X) was Y =0.0039log(X) -0.4129. Also, it appeared that it was not appropriate to use ambient air itself because the odor level of ambient air varies with time, site, and situation. Instead we concluded that it was very effective for making the non-odorous air to use the cylinder air with traps which are composed of water, vacant tube, silicagel, charcoal vessels. The analysis results of odor samples by SA-ASTM syringe method using non-odorous air of this study explained the odor threshold and odor intensity well, which is the basic characteristics of odor and necessary data to use the odor dispersion model.

        This paper propose a method, observer design for torque current measurement of induction motors, by using single term walsh series(STWS). If the torque currents of induction motors need to know for induction motors driving correctly, it is observed by proposed observer directly. Since the observer which is presented in this paper has an algebraic form, it is more attractive than the conservative others.

        Exercise-induced anaphylaxis(EIA) is a medical emergency in that it derives from a physical allergy. We reported a case of food-independent EIA based on history and laboratory data. A 40-year-old male patient was presented with generalized urticaria, angioedema, and syncope after jogging. He had suffered from allergic rhinitis for 25 years. Increased level of serum tryptase was noted. Mast cell activation might be suggested in the pathophysiologic mechanism of EIA. (J Asthma Allergy Clin Immunol 24 : 152-5, 2004)

        Present study was to examine the affinity of soybean varieties to R. japonicum strains through artificial cross-inoculation test. A pot culture experiment was conducted with 11 varieties of soybean and 9 selected strains of Rhizobium japonicum. The results are summarized as follows: 1. There were differences in nodule number, nodule fresh weight, acetylene reduction activity and plant nitrogen content with R. joponicum inoculation to soybean varieties. 2. The results of 3 selected strains inoculation to 11 soybean varieties showed high nitrogen fixing affinity in Jangyub, Backchun & Kwanggyo in case of S156 strain in Danyub, Kwanggyo & Whanggun in case of S203 strain and in Namchun, Backchun & Bongui in case of S252 strain. 3. The effects of 9 selected strains inoculation to 3 soybean varieties each showed high nodulation and nitrogen fixing ability in S101,S151&S252 strains to soybean Jangback, in S017,S154&S203strains to soybean Hill, and in S101& S104 strains to soybean Jangyub.

        디스크형 산화구리 촉매담지 세라믹필터의 제조와 물성

        A catalyst with CuO ceramic filter for simultaneous treatment of dust and HAP was prepared and characterized. Catalytic ceramic tilter can not only potentially achieve the substantial savings in energy but provide with effective optimization and integration of process for simultaneous removal of S0₂ㆍ NOx and particulates from flue gases. Catalytic ceramic filters remove simultaneously particulates on exterior surface of filters and reduce NO to N₂and H₂O by SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) process. Preparation of catalyst impregnated ceramic filter with disk shape (Ψ50) follow the processing of alumino-silicate ceramic filter, support impregnation and catalyst impregnation(copper oxide). Preparation routes of alumino-silicate catalyst carrier suitable for production of catalytic filters practically were studied and developed using the sol-gel and colloidal processing, homogeneous precipitation and impregnation method. Characterization of the catalyst, catalyst carrier catalytic filter materials have been performed the using various techniques such as BET, XRD, TGA, SEM. Combination of the sol-gel and colloidal processing and impregnation method is recommended to prepare catalyst carriers economically for catalytic filter applications.
