Locoregional recurrence is the most common type of recurrence in surgical operation of gastric adenocarcinoma, and peritoneal dissemination is one of the most difficult problems in advanced gastric adenocarcinoma treatment. Because the peritoneal cavity is the most common site of the first recurrence after gastric cancer resection, intraperitoneal chemotherapy seems a logical choice for cancer chemotherapy. In this study, Mitomycin C (MMC)-activated charcoal (CH)-alginate (ALG) beads were prepared by the mixtures of CH particles adsorbed with MMC as an anti-cancer drug and aqueous alginate solution. The alginate is recognized as biodegradable, nontoxic, and biocompatible. The release of MMC from the beads in 0.1 M Tris buffer was stable and continuous until about 1 week. The MMC-CH-ALG beads can be applied in the peritoneal cavity for intraperitoneal chemotherapy since they provide a good adhesiveness on the tissue and controlled release pattern of the drugs.
착상관련 질환 환자의 자궁내막에 있어서 프로게스테론 수용체, integrinβ₃, cyclooxygenase-2(COX-2)의 발현 양상

연구목적 : 착상관련 질환을 가지고 있는 한국 여성의 자궁내막 조직과 정상적인 여성의 내막 조직을 비교하여 병인의 특성과 진단에 도움을 주는 면역 화학적 지표를 발견하고자 하였다. 연구방법 : 정상 소견을 가진 20명(1군),자궁내막 유착증 5명(2군),자궁내막증 20명(3군)을 대상으로 배란일로부터 7-8일째 성선호르몬을 측정하였고 자궁내막세포를 채취하여 PR, integrin β3, COX-2의 발현을 면역조직화학적 방법으로 염색하였다. 결과 : 성호르몬 수용체는 PR의 발현이 2군에서는 1군에 비하여 감소하였으나 3군에서는 증가되는 양상을 보인다. Integrinβ3의 발현은 2군과 3군 모두에서 정상 대조군에 비하여 유의하게 감소하였다. COX-2의 발현은 2군에서는 뚜렷하게 감소하였으나 3군에서는 선상피세포에서의 발현이 다소 증가되고, 기질세포에서는 뚜렷이 증가되었다. 결론 : PR, Integrin 3, COX-2는 자궁내막증 환자와 자궁내막 유착증 환자에 있어서 대조군에 비하여 서로 다른 발현을 보임으로써 착상관련질환을 가진 환자들의 진단 및 치료에 유용한 지표가 될 수 있다고 생각된다. Objective : We compared the expression pattern of progesterone receptor, integrin 3, cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) in in-phased endomerium of patient with the disease related implantation and control group, and tried to confirm the clinical efficacy of the immunohistochemical markers for discrimination of occult uterine receptivity defect in in-phase endometrium.Study design : Endometrial tissues were obtained from 60 women with normal (group 1; n = 20), uterine synechiae (group 2; n = 15), and endometriosis (group 3; n = 25). On 7 ∼ 8 days after ovulation (POD 7 ∼ 8), sex hormone levels were measured and immunohistochemical staining of PR, integrin 3, and COX-2 expression were performed. Results : PR was decreased in the group 2 and increased in the group 3 comparing with the group 1. integrin 3 expression was significantly decreased in the group 2 and 3. COX-2 expression was significantly decreased in the group 2. But, in the group 3, COX-2 expression was slightly increased in glandular epithelial cells, and significantly increased in stromal cells. Conclusions : In-phase biopsies from patients with endometriosis and uterine synechiae showed different expression pattern of integrin 3, COX-2, and PR compared to the control. The aberrant expression of immunohistochemical markers be associated with occult uterine receptivity defect and produce the useful diagnostic method.

ABSTRACT: The condition of a 55-year-old man was diagnosed with unresectable advanced gastric cancer, and initial biopsy revealed adenocarcinoma. On evaluation of treatment response after chemotherapy, F-FDG PET/CT showed large residual stomach cancer with increased FDG uptake (SUVmax, 13.6), lymph node metastasis with mild FDG uptake (SUVmax, 2.5), and no distant metastasis. Palliative subtotal gastrectomy was done, and the finding was hepatoid adenocarcinoma. Compared with the previous report of Pan et al (Clin Nucl Med. 2011;36:1137–1139), our patient had more increased FDG uptake of SUVmax (13.6 vs 1.9) in the gastric mass and lymph node metastases but no liver metastasis.
Twistable and bendable actuator: a CNT/polymer sandwich structure driven by thermal gradient

<P>We demonstrate a novel configuration of an electrothermal actuator (ETA), which is based on a polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) slab sandwiched by upper and lower active layers of CNT–PDMS composite. When only one active layer of a single sandwich structure ETA is heated and the other is not, there exists a thermal gradient in the direction of the slab thickness, resulting in bending motion toward the unheated side. Moreover, a dual sandwich structure ETA, consisting of two parallel assembled sandwich structures on the same body, has the unique ability to act with a twisting motion as the two ETAs bend in opposite directions. We expect the advent of the bendable and twistable actuator to break new ground in ETAs.</P>
S-86 Case of Primary Aortoenteric Fistula to Proximal Rectum

Introduction: Aortoenteric fistula is a rare cause of GI bleeding and fatal due to massive bleeding and diagnostic difficulties. It is defined as a communication between the aorta and adjacent portion of gastrointestinal tract. Primary aortoenteric fistula (PAEF) is typically caused by erosion of segment of aortic aneurysm.?Case: A 79-year-old male was admitted to the Emergency department due to massive hematochezia. He presented hypotension and a pulse rate was 105 beats/min. The laboratory findings showed hemoglobin 7.8 g/dL. Initial upper endoscopy was done but there was no bleeding focus. Urgent sigmoidscopy showed stigma of recent bleeding at proximal rectum and eccentric pulsating mass with ulceration and exposed vessel. The endoscopic findings suggest a PAEF. Computed tomography images showed aneurysms in both internal iliac artery and proximal rectum was compressed by left internal iliac artery aneurysm. Direct repair of the vascular was performed and patient was discharged with no complications on the 21st postoperative day. Conclusions: The majority of AEF (87%) occurs between the aorta and the third or fourth portion of the duodenum. Jejunum is involved in 7%, ileum in 4%, and colon in only 2% of the cases. There is no case report of PAEF involving rectum in Korea. It is significant in that we present an extremely rare case of a primary fistula from an aortic aneurysm to rectum and made prompt diagnosis and treatment for this lethal disease.
A 2 GHz Fractional-N Digital PLL with 1b Noise Shaping <tex> $\Delta\Sigma$</tex> TDC

<P>This paper presents a low-power noise-shaping ΔΣ time-to-digital converter (TDC) and its application to a fractional-N digital PLL. With a simple structure of single-delay-stage Δ modulator followed by a charge pump based Σ modulator, a wide range of TDC input is converted to ΔΣ modulated single bit stream without loss of signal information. The ΔΣ architecture of TDC effectively improves the conversion performance of linearity and resolution while handling a large input range due to the operation of the dual-modulus divider. In addition, with a downscaling of the amount of the single delay in Δ modulator, the signal and noise transfer characteristics of TDC can be profiled to suppress the out-band noises at the input to the loop filter, resulting in easy filtering without any extra noise cancelling scheme. The DPLL is fabricated with a 0.13 μm CMOS technology. With a loop bandwidth of 1 MHz, DPLL shows an in-band phase noise of - 107 dBc/Hz at 500 kHz offset and an out-of-band phase noise of -118.5 dBc/Hz at 3 MHz offset. The TDC consumes 1 mA.</P>

글로벌 시장환경체제에서 유통구조가 복잡해짐에 따라 제조사에서 유통업체 및 소비자까지 아우르는 전체 공급망에서 제품에 대한 이력추적관리는 투명한 유통구조를 형성시킬 뿐만 아니라 더 나아가 소비자들의 안전에 지대한 영향을 미친다. 세계보건기구(WHO)에 따르면 선진국에서 부정 전문의약품의 유통비중은 전체 의약품의 1% 정도이며 이를 미국에 적용할 경우(2006년 기준), 미국에서 유통된 34억 개 전문의약품 중 3,400만 개의 전문의약품이 가짜일 가능성이 있는 것으로 보고되고 있다. 이로 인해 미국 캘리포니아주에서는 유통망의 투명성과 소비자의 안전을 보고하기 위하여 2D 바코드나 RFID(Radio Frequency IDentification)를 통해 의약품 제조에서 약국까지의 유통과정 계보를 추적할 수 있도록 제약기업에 2015년부터 제품에 시리얼번호를 부착한 이력장치(serialized e-pedigree)를 시행할 예정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 국내 외적으로 물류/유통과정에서 제품의 위 변조를 예방하기 위한 e-pedigree에 현황 및 동태를 파악하고 국내 e-pedigree에 대한 방향성을 고찰하는데 그 목적이 있다.
