        The Effect of Umbilical Cord Blood Derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells in Monocrotaline-induced Pulmonary Artery Hypertension Rats

        Pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) causes right ventricular failure due to a gradual increase in pulmonary vascular resistance. The purposes of this study were to confirm the engraftment of human umbilical cord blood-mesenchymal stem cells (hUCB-MSCs) placed in the correct place in the lung and research on changes of hemodynamics, pulmonary pathology, immunomodulation and several gene expressions in monocrotaline (MCT)- induced PAH rat models after hUCB-MSCs transfusion. The rats were grouped as follows: the control (C) group; the M group (MCT 60 mg/kg); the U group (hUCB-MSCs transfusion). They received transfusions via the external jugular vein a week after MCT injection. The mean right ventricular pressure (RVP) was significantly reduced in the U group after the 2 week. The indicators of RV hypertrophy were significantly reduced in the U group at week 4. Reduced medial wall thickness in the pulmonary arteriole was noted in the U group at week 4. Reduced number of intra-acinar muscular pulmonary arteries was observed in the U group after 2 week. Protein expressions such as endothelin (ET)-1, endothelin receptor A (ERA), endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) and matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)-2 significantly decreased at week 4. The decreased levels of ERA, eNOS and MMP-2 immunoreactivity were noted by immnohistochemical staining. After hUCB-MSCs were administered, there were the improvement of RVH and mean RVP. Reductions in several protein expressions and immunomodulation were also detected. It is suggested that hUCB-MSCs may be a promising therapeutic option for PAH.

        종격동임파절의 결핵성 임파선염 및 원발성폐암 전이의 CT소견

        We analyzed pre and post enhanced CT scans of eighty two pathologically proven patients among which forty none cases were pulmonary tuberculosis and thirty three patients primary lung cancer who had mediastinal lymphadenopathy with special attensions. to nodal architectures numbers and locations. The results were as follows: 1. Lymph nodes abnormality was found in its average number of 1.2 nodes in tuberculosis and 2.8 nodes in primary lung cancer. 2. The locations of abnormality lymph nodes were 4R(17.5%) 10R(17.5%) and 5(14,0%) in order of frequency in tuberculosis and 4R(17.6%) 10R(14.3%) and 7(14.3%) in order of fre-quency in primary lung cancer. 3. In the feature of post enhanced lymph nodes the central low density type was the most frequent in tuberculosis (61.4%) The most frequent in tuberculosis(61.4%) The most frequent type in primary lung cancer was the homogenous type (79.1%) 4, The incidence of lymph node calcification were as twice in tuberculosis (67.3%) than in primary lung cancer(39.4%) 5. In other findings parenchymal mass density(78.8% in Ca/12.2% in Tb) and pleural effusion (27.3% in Ca/10.2% in Tb) were more frequent in primary lung cancer but parenchymal calcification (17.3% in Ca/10.2% in Tb) were more frequent in primary lung cancer. but parenchymal calcification (27.3% in Ca/49.0% in Tb) was more frequent in tuberculosis The cavity formation of primary lung cancer(27.3%) was found to be as the same frequency as in tuberculosis(20.4%)

        Nomifensine이 가토 혈중 주정농도에 미치는 영향에 관한 실험적 연구

        Nomifensine is a new antidepressant, differing from others in its pharmacological profile, a derivative of isoquinoline, which is known to inhibit dopamine uptake as well as norepinephrine uptake. The author conducted an animal experiment to investigate the effects of this new antidepressant on blood alcohol level, because many investigators have suggested that any new psychotropic drug should be tested for their interaction with alcohol. The experiment was done on mature rabbits of both sexes. The control group was given alcohol alone, and the experimental groups were given not only alcohol but also various oral doses of nomifensine, namely, 25mg/kg for 5 days, 25mg/kg for10 days, 50mg/kg for 5 days, and 50mg/kg for 10 days, respectively. The last dose was given one and a half hour before alcohol administration. In all groups, 5.0ml/kg of 20% ethanol solution was given intravenously and at 15 and 45 minutes after alcohol injection blood specimens were obtained by cardiac puncture. The blood alcohol levels were determined by Cavett's method. There was no significant difference between control and all experimental groups in blood alcohol level at both 15 and 45 minutes after alcohol administration. It is concluded that nomifensine does not elevate the blood alcohol level in rabbits.

        ソウル方言話者の日本語發話に對する日本語母語話者の評價 : "end focus"を中心に "end focus"를 중심으로 With focus on "End Focus"

        "end focus"とは、ソウル方言話者の日本語の發話中に現れる特徵的なイントネ-ションのことである。本硏究では、このソウル方言話者の"end focus"に對する日本語母語話者の評價を、自然談話を材料に調べた。 その調査の方法として、まず、被驗者は日本語母語話者15名を對象とした。この被驗者15名は全員過去日本國內や海外で日本語を敎えた經驗のある且つ、現在外國人に「日本語を敎えている者である。被驗者の平均年齡は23歲で、日本語を敎えた經驗は平均3年である。 次に、調査の材料は、ソウル方言話者女性1名の60分間の自然談話の中で最初の10分間の「自己紹介」の部分を拔粹したものである。評價用紙は、「自由記述」、「アンケ-ト」「內省報告」の三つである。手續きは、一人ずつ防音室で調査を行った。 その結果、まず、自由記述とアンケ-トの發音の部分的な評價の7項目 (單音、特殊拍、アクセント、プロミネンス、ポ-ズ、"end focus"、イントネ-ション) の評價の結果、この音聲的要因の7項目の中で、"end focus"が最も直す必要がある項目として評價された。 また、フォロ-アップインタビュ-の結果でも、"end focus"は聞き手に對して、感情的に不快な印象を與えてしまうという意見が多かったため、最も直すべき項目であると評價された 。 次に"end focus"に對する質的評價の內容をまとめると「音聲面」、「文法面」「感情面」、「場面差」、「方言·なまり」の五つに分けることが出來た。また、この中で"end focus"は、感情面のマイナス的效果があるという指摘が多かったため、最も直すべき項目であると評價された。 以上の結果から、ソウル方言話者の日本語發音の不自然な音聲的要因の中で、"end focus"が、その日本語發音の不自然さに大きく影響する要因の一つであるといえる。また、ソウル方言話者の日本語音聲敎育において、感情的誤解を招く句末イントネ-ションである"end focus"の矯正指導の必要性が示唆された。

        Preparation and Gas Permeation Properties of Silica Membranes on Porous Stainless Steel-Tube Supports

        본 연구에서 고투과도를 갖는 실리카 분리막은 콜로이달 실리카 졸과 고분자형 실리카 졸 두 가지를 DRFF법과 SRFF법으로 다공성 금속 지지체 위에 코팅하여 제조되었다. 실리카 졸은 졸-겔법으로 테트라에톡시실란(TEOS)에 의하여 제조되었고, 각각의 졸은 동적광산란법(DLS), 전계방사 주사전자현미경(FE-SEM), 질소 흡착법 등을 이용하여 그 특성을 평가하였다. 다공성 금속 지지체위에 콜로이달 실리카 졸로 중간층을 형성하여 치밀한 구조의 실리카 층을 형성한 후 그 위에 분리층으로 고분자형 실리카 졸을 코팅하여 핀홀을 줄이는 방법으로 기체분리용 분리막을 제조하였다. FE-SEM으로 분리막의 코팅 층을 분석한 결과 분리층은 중간층보다 침밀한 구조를 가지고 있음을 확인하였고 기체투과 결과 수소 투과도 $(6.63-9.21){\times}10^{-5}mol{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}s^{-1}{\cdot}Pa^{-1}$ 분포를 보였다. Silica membranes with high permeability were prepared using colloidal and polymeric silica sols on a porous stainless steel-tube support by a DRFF and SRFF method. Silica sols were derived with tetraethylorthosilicate (TEOS) by sol-gel method and analyzed with DLS, FE-SEM, and $N_2$ adsorption. The coating of the intermediate layer with colloidal silica sol on the stainless steel-tube support led to a denser surface morphology of the membrane along with a considerable reduction in the number of surface defect. As the polymeric silica sol enclosed the colloidal silica sol with spherical particles during the SRFF method, the separation-layer-coated silica membrane showed a denser surface than the intermediate layer. Moreover, the silica membranes showed high hydrogen gas permeability of $(6.63-9.21){\times}10^{-5}mol{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}s^{-1}{\cdot}Pa^{-1}$ with low $H_2/N_2$ perm-selectivity (2.9-3.1) at room temperatures.

      • Effect of oxygen functional groups on acetic acid adsorption of activated carbon fiber

        Acetic acid gas is a kind of volatile organic compounds which are harmful to the human body, with a bad odor. In order to increase the adsorption efficiency of ACFs, we introduced the oxygen functional group on the surface of ACFs by oxygen plasma. Oxygen plasma treatment to ACFs was conducted with various oxygen flow rates (0, 20,40,60 sccm). As the flow rate of oxygen gas during the plasma treatment increased, functional groups introduced on the surface of ACFs also increased from 6.92% up to 36.25%. The specific surface area of plasma-treated ACFs (1,098 ㎡/g) was slightly reduced compared to the untreated sample (1,180 ㎡/g), which was in contrast to the significant increase of the surface oxygen content of ACFs through the oxygen plasma treatment. It was confirmed that the adsorption characteristics of ACFs were enhanced compared to untreated samples. Therefore, the results showed that the oxygen plasma treatment can be an effective way to remove acetic acid gas for ACFs.

        연구논문 : 컨벤션참가자의 개최지서비스에 대한 인식: 중요도와 성취도

        The purpose of this study were to examine convention attendees' perception of services provided by the convention destination in terms of importance and performance. Data were collected from the self-administered questionnaires of 150 overseas attendees in the four international conventions held in Seoul, Korea from September to October 2001. The 40 items for measuring convention destination service were developed and grouped into seven dimensions of physical environments, accessibility & communications, service encounter, safety & security, conference programs, special activities, convention management & networking. The major findings were that there are significant differences between importance and performance in accessibility & communications and conference program dimensions. The I-P matrix for Seoul as a convention destination shows major strengths and weaknesses. Among its major strengths are safety & security, service encounter, and physical environments dimensions. Accessibility & communications, conference program dimensions are its major weaknesses. It is important for the convention destination that weaknesses are addressed and strengths are emphasized in promotional efforts. The results of this study could be used to improve the destination's competitiveness.
