Influence of compressor’s tilt angle on the performance of miniature refrigeration system

        Xia Chen,Yuting Wu,Chongfang Ma,Chunxu Du,Rui Ma,Dongfang Wang 대한기계학회 2017 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.31 No.1

Vapor compression refrigeration is considered as ideal miniature cooling system for miniature electronic systems and portable cooling systems. Many applications of the miniature refrigeration system are working under the situations (such as aviation field, individual combat system and automobile air conditioning, etc.) that exist bump, tilt, and even flip, which will severely degrade the performance of the miniature refrigeration system. In order to study the influence of compressor’s tilt angle on refrigeration system, a test bench was built and the performance experiments were made. The results show that the compressor’s tilt angle has a great impact on the refrigeration system performance. When the compressor worked at the maximum tilt angle of 60°, COP-c and COP-h of the system change periodically. When the compressor works in full load, the maximum tilt angle for compressor is 20°. When the compressor tilt angle is 15°, there is an optimal amount of refrigerant charge, and corresponding COP-c and COP-h reach the maximum of 2.9 and 3.9, respectively.

Electroacupuncture Improves Insulin Resistance by Reducing Neuroprotein Y/ Agouti-Related Protein Levels and Inhibiting Expression of Protein Tyrosine Phosphatase 1B in Diet-induced Obese Rats

        Xia Liu,Jun-Feng He,Ya-Ting Qu,Zhi-Jun Liu,Qing-Yang Pu,Shengtong Guo,Jia Du,Peng-Fei Jiang 사단법인약침학회 2016 Journal of Acupuncture & Meridian Studies Vol.9 No.2

Electroacupuncture (EA) has been shown to exert beneficial effects on obesity, but the mechanism is unclear. This study investigated the effects of EA on diet-induced obese (DIO) rats. Fifty male SpragueeDawley rats were randomly divided into low-fat diet (LFD, 10 rats) and high-fat diet (HFD, 40 rats) groups. After the DIO models had been established, successful model rats were randomly divided into HFD, EA, and orlistat (OLST) groups. The EA group received EA at Zusanli (ST36) and Quchi (LI11) for 20 minutes once per day for 28 days. The OLST group was treated with orlistat by gavage. The body weight, homeostasis model assessment-insulin resistance index, adipocyte diameters, and neuroprotein Y/agouti-related protein and protein tyrosine phosphatase 1B levels were significantly lower in the EA group than in the HFD group. The rats of the OLST group showed watery stools and yellow hairs whereas those of the EA group had regular stools and sleek coats. The effect of EA on weight loss may be related to improved insulin resistance caused by changes in the adipocyte size and by reductions in the expressions of neuroprotein Y/agouti-related protein and protein tyrosine phosphatase 1B. This study indicates that EA may be a better method of alternative therapy for treating obesity and other metabolic diseases.

      • Lack of Association between the COMT rs4680 Polymorphism and Ovarian Cancer Risk: Evidence from a Meta-analysis of 3,940 Individuals

        Du, Jin-Ze,Dong, Yu-Ling,Wan, Guo-Xing,Tao, Lin,Lu, Li-Xia,Li, Feng,Pang, Li-Juan,Jia, Wei Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2014 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.15 No.18

Catechol-O-methyltransferase (COMT) is involved in estrogen metabolism and is vital to estrogen-induced carcinogenesis, including that of ovarian cancer. Although many recent epidemiologic studies have investigated associations between the COMT rs4680 polymorphism and ovarian cancer risk, the results remain inconclusive. We therefore performed a meta-analysis to derive a more precise estimate of associations. Systematic searches of the PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, Wanfang, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, and Chinese Biomedicine databases were undertaken to retrieve eligible studies. Odds ratios (ORs) with their corresponding 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were pooled to assess the strength of the association. In total, 8 case-control studies involving 1,293 cases and 2,647 controls were included in the meta-analysis. Overall, the results showed no evidence of significant association between the COMT rs4680 polymorphism and ovarian cancer risk in any of the assessed genetic models. Subgroup analyses by ethnicity also did not reveal any significant association in any genetic model (p>0.05). In conclusion, our findings suggest that the COMT rs4680 polymorphism may not contribute to the risk of ovarian cancer.

Synthesis and color-tunable luminescence properties of novel calcium aluminate silicate chloride phosphors

        Zhiguo Xia,Peng Du,Libing Liao,Guowu Li,Shuai Jin 한국물리학회 2010 Current Applied Physics Vol.10 No.4

Eu2+ and Mn2+ co-doped calcium aluminate silicate chloride phosphors with the chemical composition of Ca3Al2Si2O8Cl4:Eu2+, Mn2+ have been prepared by a solid-state method, and their luminescence properties have been investigated by tuning the En2+/Mn2+ ions concentration. The phase formation and microstructure of Ca3Al2Si2O8Cl4:Eu2+, Mn2+ phosphors have been illuminated by XRD and SEM analysis. Photoluminescence (PL) spectrum reveals that Ca3Al2Si2O8Cl4:Eu2+ exhibits a strong blue emission band centered at 431 nm, while Ca3Al2Si2O8Cl4:Eu2+, Mn2+ can emit bluish-white light by adjusting the Mn2+ content appropriately. The energy transfer mechanism involving Eu2+–Mn2+ have also been investigated.

An Investigation of the Performance of Waterjet for Lotus Root Digging Device : Simulation and Experiment

Jun Du,Junfang Xia,Hao Wu,Wenqiang Xu 한국유체기계학회 2020 International journal of fluid machinery and syste Vol.13 No.1

The agricultural digging device for lotus root make waterjet scour away the soil around lotus root to help it float up to water surface by buoyancy on harvesting . The performance of the waterjet was investigated by CFD-DEM simulation and experiment for its optimization. The Hertz-Mindlin with JKR model was used as the soil around lotus root was cohesive. The simulation shoes that the digging depth increases with the increase of the jetting angle and the decrease of the diameter of nozzle. The preliminary trial verified this trend, and it revealed that the digging depth determined the digging ratio. In the field experiment, the effects of type of nozzle, diameter of nozzle and jetting angle on digging depth, digging ratio, breaking ratio and surface damage ratio were studied. The results showed that a larger diameter with a larger jetting angle for a suitable type of nozzle can obtain a high digging ratio with a lower breaking ratio and surface damage ratio.

      • Business Process Adaptation Based on Process Variants

Hong Xia Li,Yu Yue Du 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Grid and Distributed Comp Vol.9 No.4

An extensional method for existing business processes is proposed to adapt new environments based on process variants in this paper. The core processes describing maximal commonalities of process variants are introduced according to inheritance relation. Then, extensional business processes are defined based on the core processes. The algorithms of the core processes and extensional business are given and proved. And the soundness of two kinds of processes is justified. An example shows that extensional business processes can adapt to the new environment better than the original process.

Dietary Glutamate; Interactions With the Enteric Nervous System

( Guo Du Wang ),( Xi Yu Wang ),( Yun Xia ),( Jackie D Wood ) 대한소화기기능성질환·운동학회 2014 Journal of Neurogastroenterology and Motility (JNM Vol.20 No.1

Background/Aims Digestion of dietary protein elevates intraluminal concentrations of glutamate in the small intestine, some of which gain access to the enteric nervous system (ENS). Glutamate, in the central nervous system (CNS), is an excitatory neurotransmitter. A dogma that glutamatergic neurophysiology in the ENS recapitulates CNS glutamatergic function persists. We reassessed the premise that glutamatergic signaling in the ENS recapitulates its neurotransmitter role in the CNS. Methods Pharmacological analysis of actions of receptor agonists and antagonists in concert with immunohistochemical localization of glutamate transporters and receptors was used. Analysis focused on intracellularly-recorded electrical and synaptic behavior of ENS neurons, on stimulation of mucosal secretion by secretomotor neurons in the submucosal plexus and on muscle contractile behavior mediated by musculomotor neurons in the myenteric plexus. Results Immunoreactivity for glutamate was expressed in ENS neurons. ENS neurons expressed immunoreactivity for the EAAC-1 glutamate transporter. Neither L-glutamate nor glutamatergic receptor agonists had excitatory actions on ENS neurons. Metabotropic glutamatergic receptor agonists did not directly stimulate neurogenic mucosal chloride secretion. Neither L-glutamate nor the metabotropic glutamatergic receptor agonist, aminocyclopentane-1,3-dicarboxylic acid (ACPD), changed the mean amplitude of spontaneously occurring contractions in circular or longitudinal strips of intestinal wall from either guinea pig or human small intestinal preparations. Conclusions Early discoveries, for excitatory glutamatergic neurotransmission in the CNS, inspired enthusiasm that investigation in the ENS would yield discoveries recapitulating the CNS glutamatergic story. We found this not to be the case. (J Neurogastroenterol Motil 2014;20:41-53)

Resilient Filtering for Delayed Markov Jump Neural Networks via Event-triggered Strategy

        Weifeng Xia,Yongmin Li,Zuxin Li,Shuxin Du,Bo Li,Wenbin Chen 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2021 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.19 No.10

This paper deals with the event triggered filtering problem for a class of delayed discrete-time Markov jump neural networks, where a resilient filter with parameter uncertainties is adopted. The aim of this paper is to design a suitable filter which ensures that the filtering error system is stochastically stable and satisfies a prescribed mixed passivity and H∞ performance. Sufficient conditions for solvability of such a problem are developed. Basedon the obtained conditions, an explicit expression of the desired resilient filter is proposed. Finally, an example is presented to show the usefulness of the proposed scheme.

Role of Preoperative Albumin Quotient in Surgical Planning for Posttraumatic Syringomyelia: A Comparative Cohort Study

        Pingchuan Xia,Houyuan Lv,Chenghua Yuan,Wanru Duan,Jiachen Wang,Jian Guan,Yueqi Du,Can Zhang,Zhenlei Liu,Kai Wang,Zuowei Wang,Xingwen Wang,Hao Wu,Zan Chen,Fengzeng Jian 대한척추신경외과학회 2024 Neurospine Vol.21 No.1

Objective: Surgical procedures for patients with posttraumatic syringomyelia (PTS) remain controversial. Until now, there have been no effective quantitative evaluation methods to assist in selecting appropriate surgical plans before surgery. Methods: We consecutively enrolled PTS patients (arachnoid lysis group, n = 42; shunting group, n = 14) from 2003 to 2023. Additionally, 19 intrathecal anesthesia patients were included in the control group. All patients with PTS underwent physical and neurological examinations and spinal magnetic resonance imaging preoperatively, 3–12 months postoperatively and during the last follow-up. Preoperative lumbar puncture was performed and blood-spinal cord barrier disruption was detected by quotient of albumin (Qalb, cerebrospinal fluid/serum). Results: The ages (p = 0.324) and sex (p = 0.065) of the PTS and control groups did not differ significantly. There were also no significant differences in age (p = 0.216), routine blood data and prognosis (p = 0.399) between the arachnoid lysis and shunting groups. But the QAlb level of PTS patients was significantly higher than that of the control group (p < 0.001), and the shunting group had a significantly higher QAlb (p < 0.001) than the arachnoid lysis group. A high preoperative QAlb (odds ratio, 1.091; 95% confidence interval, 1.004–1.187; p = 0.041) was identified as the predictive factor for the shunting procedure, with the receiver operating characteristic curve showing 100% specificity and 80.95% sensitivity for patients with a QAlb > 12.67. Conclusion: Preoperative QAlb is a significant predictive factor for the types of surgery. For PTS patients with a QAlb > 12.67, shunting represents the final recourse, necessitating the exploration and development of novel treatments for these patients.
