Messages generated from field devices connected by CAN bus are classified into three categories : (1) real-time aperiodic messages, (2) real-time periodic messages, (3) non-real-time messages. Because these share one CAN bus medium, if the traffic of these messages are not efficiently managed, the performance of the application systems interconnected into the CAN bus can be degraded. This paper proposes a bandwidth allocation scheme that satisfies the performance requirement of application systems as well as fully utilizes the bandwidth of CAN bus. Using the simulation model of CAN bus, this study validates the bandwidth allocation scheme and analyzes the effect of network-induced delay on the performance of control system.

Silicon alkoxides(TEOS:tetraethylorthosilicate and TMOS:tetramethylorthosilicate) were synthesized from silicon tetrachloride and ethanol or methanol with the variation of the mole ratio (alcohol/SiCl_4) and the water contents in the alcohol. The optimum mole ratios of alcohol/SiCl_4 were measured to be betweem 4 and 5 and the reactions completed within one hour. The yield of TEOS decreased from 70% to 48% as the water contents increased from 0.1% to 1.0% in ethanol.

Secondary effluent of activated sludge process was treated by UV/H_2O_2 advanced oxidation process to investigate the effect of suspended matter and H_2O_2 concentration. With low dosage of UV radiation, the concentration of the dissolved organic compounds measured as DOC could be increased with and without hydrogen peroxide. It was suggested that the cause of DOC increase in treated samples was the decomposition of suspended microbial particles and the incomplete oxidation of dissolved organic compounds. The removal of suspended solid significantly enhanced the degradation of DOC in both UV and catalyzed UV oxidation. Color and odor of secondary effluent was effectively removed. Turbidity was decreased by oxidation and the particle size distribution was shifted to lower range. With increased H_2O_2 dosage (30∼120mg/l), the removal of DOC was enhanced. To obtain the required quality meeting the regulated level for water reuse, additional treatment for turbidity rejection was required.

Acoustic streaming produced by an extracorporeal shock wave lithotripter was visualized for the first time in the present study. It was observed that the streaming velocity increased with the shock wave amplitude and was reaching up to 3 cm/s at the highest output setting of the lithotripter.

Although the success rate of deep inferior epigastric perforator (DIEP) flaps has increased, late flap failures still occur and have a low salvage rate. The present article describes a case of salvage of a case of late flap failure using the pedicle vein as a vein graft source. A 50-yearold woman underwent a bilateral DIEP free flap procedure. On postoperative day 6, she experienced flap compromise and underwent emergency flap revision. In the flap revision, flap venous drainage and the superficial inferior epigastric vein were completely obstructed. A Fogarty catheter was used to remove a thrombus from the completely obstructed pedicle vein, and this pedicle vein was used as a graft source and was ligated in retrograde fashion to the flap vein stump. After injection of urokinase into the arterial branch, venous flow to the flap was restored. At a 6-month follow-up visit in the outpatient clinic, only partial fat necrosis at the flap was noted. By dissecting various perforators in the initial operation, decisions regarding immediate revision can be made with more confidence. Additionally, the combined procedures performed in this case may be helpful even for practitioners treating cases of late flap compromise.
Buried Superior Gluteal Artery Perforator Flap for Dead Space Coverage in the Sacral Area
Hong Seung Heon,Lee Kyeong-Tae 대한창상학회 2020 Journal of Wound Management and Research Vol.16 No.1
Partial sacrectomy is a common treatment for sacral sarcomas, which often results in a large defect and exposed rectal wall. The defect could be covered using a gluteus maximus (GM) advancement flap. However, seroma and wound dehiscence are often observed after GM advancement flap coverage, delaying the wound healing process. We present a case of buried superior gluteal artery perforator (SGAP) flap following GM muscle splitting. An 11-year-old male patient with epithelioid sarcoma in the sacrum underwent partial sacrectomy. The sacral defect size was 9×6 cm, and the GM muscle was intact. We designed a 7×4-cm elliptically-shaped SGAP flap skin paddle, after which perforator dissection was performed underneath the GM muscle. To minimize dead space, the GM muscle was split and the flap was de-epithelized and advanced to the posterior rectal wall. There were no wound complications during admission and the patient was discharged on postoperative day 16. No atrophy of the flap was found on postoperative magnetic resonance imaging, either. This case demonstrates that using a buried SGAP flap for covering dead space could be a good surgical method to cover wide sacral defects.
