A Newly proposed control methodology applied to the aeroelastic system experiencing flutter is investigated and its performance is verified experimentally. The flexible cantilever beam slicked with piezofilm sensor and piezoceramic actuator is modelled in physical domain. Dynamic moment equation for the system is derived via Ito's stochastic differential equation and F-P-K equation. Also system's characteristics in stochastic domain is analyzed simultaneously. LQG controller is designed and used in physical and stochastic domain. It is shown experimentally that the vibration of beam is controlled effectively by designed LQG controller in physical domain. By comparing the result with that of LQG controller designed in stochastic domain, it is shown that the new control method, called Heo-stochastic control technique, has better performance as a controller.

구강내 악성흑색종에 대한 임상연구

The prognosis of oral malignant melanoma is poor compared with cutaneous melanoma. It may be related to the difficulty of wide enough resection, the early hematogenous matastases, higher stage at initial diagnosis, tendency to growth vertically. In the view of histological differences between oral mucosa and skin, it is impossible use Clark’s and Breslow’s classifications for prognosis. The great problem is that there is still no consensus on the treatment due to rarity. Because data collection from case reports is considered to be the best source of information and should be pooled to anlalyze key determinants of outcome, We reported on 6 cases of primary malignant melanoma of the oral cavity which were diagnosed and treated in Pusan National University Hospital recently and reviewed the literature. Immunohistochemical study on S100 Protein, GP 100 (HMB-45) with biopsy was usable to confirm the melanoma. Neck dissection including wide excision is recommended if lymph node involvement is suspected. Additionally, adjuvant chemotherapy could be supporting therapy.

인구사회학적요인, 학교조직요인 및 교사의 사회심리학적요인이 직무만족도에 미치는 영향

본 연구는 인구사회학적요인(교사의 성별, 연령, 교급, 학교위치, 보직유무), 학교조직요인(합리풍토, 인화풍토, 폐쇄풍토, 상사의 지원, 업무 스트레스), 사회심리학적요인(긍정적 성격, 부정적 성격, 자아존중감, 가정화목, 경제적 곤란)이 교사의 직무만족도에 미치는 영향을 검토하는데 그 목표를 두고 있다. 본 연구의 목표를 달성하기 위해, 전남지역 초·중·고등학교 교사 644명에게 '성취감 만족', '일 자체만족', '복지 만족'의 하위요소로 구성된 교사 직무만족 척도와 사회심리학적변인, 학교조직변인, 인구사회학적변인들에 관해 질문하는 설문지를 실시하였다. 인구사회학적변인들 중에서 학교 위치는 교사직무만족과 전혀 상관이 없었으나, 교사의 성별, 교급, 보직유무, 연령은 교사의 직무만족도와 유의하게 상관이 있었다. 학교조직변인들도 교사의 직무만족과 높은 상관관계를 나타내어, 상사의 지원이 높을수록, 학교 조직이 합리적으로 운영되고 학교조직의 인화단결이 잘될수록 교사들이 느끼는 직무만족도가 높은 것으로 나타났고, 학교가 폐쇄적 풍토를 지니고 교사들의 업무스트레스가 높을수록 교사들의 직무 만족도가 떨어지는 것으로 나타났다. 사회심리학적변인들의 경우, 교사가 긍정적 성격을 가지고 있고, 자아존중감이 높을 때, 그리고 가정이 화목할 때 직무만족도가 높은 것으로 나타났으며, 부정적 성격을 가지고 있을 때, 그리고 경제적 곤란을 느끼고 있을 때는 직무만족도가 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 인구사회 학적변인, 학교조직변인, 사회심리학적변인들을 동시에 사용하여, 중다회귀 분석한 결과를 살펴보면, 교사의 성별이나, 연령, 교급과 같은 인구사회학적요인보다는 합리풍토, 인화 풍토와 같은 학교조직요인과 교사의 긍정적, 부정적 성격과 자아존중감과 같은 교사의 사회심리학적요인이 교사직무만족도를 예측하는 데 훨씬 더 중요하게 작용하는 것으로 나타났다. The major goal of the present study was to investigate the influences of sociodemographic factors, school organizational factors, and teachers' sociopsychological factors on teachers' job satisfaction. Six hundred and forty-four elementary, middle, and high school teachers completed a questionnaire that included items on job satisfaction, sociodemographic characteristics of teachers, school organizational factors and teachers' sociopsychological factors. Among the sociodemographic variables, the location of the school was not related to teachers' job satisfaction, however, the teacher's gender, age, and the level of school were correlated with job satisfaction. School organizational factors such as the school's social closeness and supports of super-ordinates, and the teachers' sociopsychological factors such as positive personality and self-esteem were also significantly related to job satisfaction. Stepwise multiple regression analyses revealed that in general, school organizational factors and teachers' sociopschological factors play more important roles in teachers' job satisfaction than sociodemographic variables of teachers.

Private-Sector Networks, Democracy, and Interstate Relations: A Case Study of South Korea and Taiwan

Since South Korea and Taiwan established diplomatic ties in August 1948, the relationship between Seoul and Taipei has gradually expanded through public channels and private-sector networks. However, South Korea`s normalization of relations with China in 1992 led Taiwan to sever its formal ties with South Korea. Nevertheless, Seoul and Taipei expanded their economic and cultural privatesector exchanges. What made this possible? We argue that the private-sector networks developed through economic and cultural exchanges enhanced national interests, which explains why the two governments facilitated expansion of their informal ties. Although the importance of personal networks has been studied in the context of intergovernmental organization memberships, there is a void in the literature on how private-sector networks may affect foreign relations. Thus, this study sheds light on the effects of private-sector networks on interstate relationships.

The US-ROK Alliance: Security Implications of the South Korea-US Free Trade Agreement

South Korea and the United States maintained a strong alliance relationship throughout the Cold War. However, changes in the international security environment surrounding the Korean peninsula with the end of the Cold War and changes among South Korean political elites brought about different perceptions of North Korea and the United States. These changes led to sharp turns in South Korea’s policy toward the North and its relationship with the United States. The Seoul government has often downplayed North Korea’s military threat from nuclear weapons and missile programs, and Washington and Seoul have had serious disagreements in dealing with North Korea. There has also been a rise in anti-American sentiment in South Korea. The US recently agreed to transfer wartime operational control to South Korea in 2012. In June 2007, however, the United States and South Korea signed a free trade accord. The KORUS FTA has significant security implications in addition to economic benefits for both countries.

Prospects for U.S.-Korea Economic Relations

South Korea and the United States have maintained a close relationship throughout the Cold War. Their economic relationship has also progressed in the past several decades. However, with new political elites in South Korea after the transition to democracy, the relationship between the two countries has changed. Trade friction has also occurred as the level of trade between the two countries has increased. To deal with the trade issues and to improve the changed relationship between the two countries, Seoul and Washington signed a free trade agreement, the so called KORUS FTA, in 2007. Despite the difficulties expected in ratification, the KORUS FTA is likely to go through the legislatures in both countries considering all the benefits of the trade agreement. With ratification of the KORUS FTA, the economic relationship between the two countries is likely to continue to prosper in the near future.

The Twin and Twin System in FCT L1₀ θ-MnNi Phase in an Equiatomic Mn-Ni Alloy

<P>This study examined the twinning mechanism and operating twin system of a face centered tetragonal (FCT) L1<SUB>0</SUB> θ-MnNi phase in an equiatomic Mn-Ni alloy using detailed TEM analysis (electron diffraction, high resolution imaging, and HAADF (Z-contrast) imaging techniques) of the structure of the twins formed during the β (B2, bcc) to θ (L1<SUB>0</SUB>, fct) phase transformation. In addition to the well-documented {111}1⁄6⟨112] deformation twinning system in L1<SUB>0</SUB> crystals, {111}1⁄6⟨211]<SUP>*</SUP> type pseudo-twin systems were also observed. The Z-contrast image of the twins showed that no atomic shuffling occurred during twinning in the θ-MnNi phase and atomic order was maintained in the {111}1⁄6⟨112] type true-twins.<SUP>*</SUP>in ⟨<I>ijk</I>], <I>i</I> and <I>j</I> are interchangeable in the tetragonal system but <I>k</I> is not.</P>

Dykellic Acid Inhibits Cell Migration and Tube Formation by RhoA-GTP Expression

<P>Dykellic acid, a novel factor initially identified from the culture broth of <I>Westerdykella multispora</I> F50733, has been shown to inhibit matrix metalloprotease 9 activity, caspase-3 activity, B cell proliferation and LPS-induced IgM production, suggesting that this factor may have anti-cancer effects. In an effort to further address the possible anti-tumoral effects of dykellic acid, we used wound healing, invasion and RhoA-GTP assays to examine the effects of dykellic acid on cell migration, invasion and angiogenesis. Our results revealed that dykellic acid dose-dependently inhibits B16 cell migration and motility, and inhibits HUVEC tube formation. Western blot analysis of the active form of RhoA (RhoA-GTP) showed that dykellic acid treatment decreased the levels of RhoA-GTP. These findings collectively suggest that dykellic acid may have both anti-metastatic and anti-angiogenic acitivites, and provides the first evidence for the involvement of RhoA in dykellic acid-induced effects.</P>

A Strategy for Phase Identification of Precipitates in High Al-containing Austenitic and Ferritic Steels Using Electron Diffraction

A strategy for phase identification of precipitates in high Al-containing austenitic and ferritic steels using electron diffraction (ED) is studied. Comparative studies of the various Al-containing precipitates (k-carbide, $Ni_3Al$, $Fe_3Al$, FeAl) show the similarities of crystal structure and lattice parameter. However, the slight differences of lattice parameter and structure display characteristic ED patterns (EDPs) which can be identified. $L1_2$ k-carbide and $Ni_3Al$ can be differentiated by the length of ${\rightarrow}_g$ (the reciprocal lattice vector), even though they show perfectly identical shapes of EDPs. $DO_3$ $Fe_3Al$ and $B_2$ FeAl show the characteristic EDs in [110] and [112] beam directions due to the differences of Fe site occupancies in unit cells. k-carbide, $Ni_3Al$, and FeAl show also the similar EDs in [112], [112], and [110] beam directions, respectively. All the possible similarities of EDs among each phases and the strategy for phase identification are discussed on the bases of kinematical ED simulation.
