유아의 기질 및 실행기능, 어머니의 정서 표현성이 유아의 사회적 능력에 미치는 영향 = The Influence of Temperament, Executive Function, and Maternal Emotional Expressiveness on the Social Competence of Infants

The purpose of this study is to promote a systematic understanding of the enhancement of infant social competence by inspecting the influence of temperament, executive function, and maternal emotional expressiveness on the social skills of infants. The subjects of this research were 204 infants of 4 to 5-year-olds and their 204 mothers. The data collected in this study were analyzed by using the SPSS WIN 20.0 program. The study results are as follows: First, the 5-year-old infants especially showed a higher forming ability of interpersonal relationships compared to the 4-year-old infants. Secondly, by the analysis results of correlation to investigate whether the sub-factors of independent variables have a relevance to all social abilities and sub-factors of social competence, only the repression of sub-factors of temperament showed a correlation with all sub-factors of social competence. Thirdly, the influence on all social competence and sub-domains of social competence according to the temperament and executive function of infants alongside maternal emotional expressiveness was investigated. As a result, the social competence of infants are affected by biological and genetic executive functions and temperament, and all the variables of maternal emotional expressiveness, which are the external variables. However, it could be confirmed that the executive function is the most powerful variable to predict the social competence of infants. Through the results of this study, it was confirmed that the social competence of infants has a close relationship with executive function, temperament, and maternal emotional expressiveness, and especially that the repression of executive functions, is the most influential variable across social competence.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 유아의 기질 및 실행기능, 어머니의 정서 표현성이 유아의 사회적 능력에 미치는 영향을 살펴봄으로써 유아의 사회적 능력 증진에 대한 이해를 도모하는데 있다. 본 연구는 만 4, 5세 유아와 어머니 204쌍을 대상으로 진행하였으며 수집된 자료는 SPSS WIN 20.0 프로그램을 사용하였다. 이를 통해 살펴본 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 기질 및 실행기능, 정서 표현성이 사회적 능력과 관련성을 갖는지 살펴본 결과, 억제는 사회적 능력의 모든 하위요인과 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났으며 모두 정적 상관을 보였다. 둘째, 유아의 실행기능이 사회적 능력을 예측하는 가장 강력한 변인임을 확인할 수 있었다. 유아의 개인정서 조절능력에 정적 영향을 미치는 하위 변인은 억제와 작업 기억, 긍정적 정서표현 순으로 나타났으며, 대인관계 형성능력에는 억제와 인지적 유연성, 기질의 의도적 통제가 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 한편, 실행기능 중 억제만이 유아의 교육기관 적응능력에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구결과를 통해서 유아의 사회적 능력은 실행기능과 기질, 어머니의 정서 표현성과 밀접한 관련이 있으며 특히 실행기능 중 억제는 사회적 능력 전반에 가장 영향력 있는 변인임을 확인하였다.
