      • Teacher Job Satisfaction in High-Performing Systems: A Multi-Level Study of Teacher, Classroom, and School Factors Using TALIS 2013 Surveys

( Yipeng Tang ),( Ting Wang ),( Laura Blythe Liu ),( Qiong Li ) 경북대학교 중등교육연구소 2020 Asia Pacific Journal of Educational Research Vol.3 No.1

Teacher job satisfaction plays a key role in influencing a quality teaching workforce and student success. This article presented an analytical framework comprising teacher, classroom and school factors, and tested it by applying a three-level modeling technique with data drawn from 11 high-performing systems that participated in Teaching and Learning International Survey (TALIS) 2013. The quantitative results show that: (1) at the teacher level, higher self-efficacy is associated with higher job satisfaction; more effective professional development and collaboration are associated with higher job satisfaction; mid-career teachers tend to be the least satisfied group compared with young and old teachers. (2) at the classroom level, teaching larger classes is associated with lower satisfaction, while teaching classes with higher percentage of low achievers or low socioeconomic students is associated with lower satisfaction; (3) at the school level, student-teacher relationship is significantly positively associated with job satisfaction. The article concludes with implications for policy makers and educators across countries.

      • On-line Rock Fragment Delineation on Simple Thresholding with Fuzzy Comprehensive Evaluation

Wang Weixing,Liang Yanjie,Liao Yipeng,Bai Lina 보안공학연구지원센터 2015 International Journal of Hybrid Information Techno Vol.8 No.6

The classification and measurement of rock fragments is very important in mining and construction engineering. The monitoring system acquires and analyses the fragment images from a gravitational falling stream at the end of a moving conveyor belt, and the key function of the system is to construct an image segmentation algorithm. To achieve this goal, an adaptive thresholding algorithm with fuzzy comprehensive evaluation is proposed. Firstly, a grabbed image is roughly segmented by using a global auto-thresholding algorithm. Then each of the objects is measured and analyzed if it includes the multiple fragments touching each other, based on the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method in which the salient fragment features of area, perimeter, shape, gradient magnitude and gray-level flatness are extracted, and for each of the features, the membership function is constructed experimentally. Finally, each of the touching fragment regions, as one image, is auto-thresholded again, and this procedure is repeated until no region can be further separated. The experimental results show that compared to cluster analysis, graph based, and FCM image segmentation algorithms the new algorithm can make image segmentation well for the falling fragments on-line.

UAV Photogrammetry and AFSA-Elman Neural Network in Slopes Vertical Displacement Monitoring and Forecasting

        Shuhong Wang,Zishan Zhang,Yipeng Ren,Chengjin Zhu 대한토목학회 2020 KSCE JOURNAL OF CIVIL ENGINEERING Vol.24 No.1

The monitoring and prediction of slope displacement plays a vital role in slope stability analysis. The displacement changes influences the stability of the slope. This paper described an approach to monitoring and predicting the variation of slope displacement. Firstly, The target slope was photographed from multiple angles by unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) gimbal controller. Then an image algorithm of visual motion is applied to reconstruct the point cloud of the slope, and to get the digital elevation model (DEM) of the slope. The DEM model was used to calculate the displacement of the monitoring area. The Displacement information measured by UAV photogrammetry will be divided into training sample set and the prediction sample set. Using the AFSA-Elman algorithm neural network, the displacement sequences were trained and predict the variation of the displacement sequence. Compared with the on-site measurement results and existing Elman network, the result demonstrated that the UAV measurement technique have a high efficiency in monitoring the displacement at each measured point of the slope. And the AFSA-Elman network was proved a higher precision and better convergence comparing with the traditional Elman network, which was suitable for the predict the displacement of the key measuring point in the slope.

      • Vp28 of Shrimp White Spot Syndrome Virus Is Involved in the Attachment and Penetration into Shrimp Cells

Yi, Guohua,Wang, Zhimin,Qi, Yipeng,Yao, Lunguang,Qian, Juan,Hu, Longbo Korean Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biol 2004 Journal of biochemistry and molecular biology Vol.37 No.6

White spot disease (WSD) is caused by the white spot syndrome virus (WSSV), which results in devastating losses to the shrimp farming industry around the world. However, the mechanism of virus entry and spread into the shrimp cells is unknown. A binding assay in vitro demonstrated VP28-EGFP (envelope protein VP28 fused with enhanced green fluorescence protein) binding to shrimp cells. This provides direct evidence that VP28-EGFP can bind to shrimp cells at pH 6.0 within 0.5 h. However, the protein was observed to enter the cytoplasm 3 h post-adsorption. Meanwhile, the plaque inhibition test showed that the polyclonal antibody against VP28 (a major envelope protein of WSSV) could neutralize the WSSV and block an infection with the virus. The result of competition ELISA further confirmed that the envelope protein VP28 could compete with WSSV to bind to shrimp cells. Overall, VP28 of the WSSV can bind to shrimp cells as an attachment protein, and can help the virus enter the cytoplasm.

Path Tracking and Local Obstacle Avoidance for Automated Vehicle Based on Improved Artificial Potential Field

        Weihua Li,Yipeng Wang,Junlong Guo,Dianbo Ren,Jianfeng Wang,Shengkai Zhu,Jianping Xiao,Shijuan Chen 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2023 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.21 No.5

This study proposes an improved artificial potential field (APF) by considering the cooperative control of local obstacle avoidance and path tracking for automated vehicles. We established the path gravitational potential field (GPF) based on the scheduled path (SP), including the lateral and longitudinal GPFs, to enable the automated vehicle to quickly return to the SP and track after obstacle avoidance, while maintaining control of speed for the entire process. To address the local optimal solution problem of the classical APF, we proposed a sub-target-point selection strategy based on the information of obstacles and SP and established the GPF of the sub-target points. Thus, the automated vehicle can avoid obstacles and quickly return to the SP. Furthermore, the relative velocity of the automated vehicle and the obstacle was used to establish the velocity repulsion potential field (RPF), which improved the adaptability of the APF to dynamic obstacles. The simulation results indicate that the improved APF is capable of cooperative control of path tracking and local obstacle avoidance. Code is available at https://github.com/xiaowang617/Improve-APF.

Influence of Filter Inductances and Number of Paralleled Grid-Connected Converters on the System’s Stable Region Under Weak Grid Condition

        Yang Shude,Sun Yipeng,Jiang Wei,Zhang Jiyong,Wang Qianlong,Tong Xiangqian 대한전기학회 2021 Journal of Electrical Engineering & Technology Vol.16 No.2

It has been found that both the number of paralleled grid-connected converters and the fi lter inductance value will aff ect the system’s stability in weak grid condition. However, a quantitative study on this eff ect is missing in the current literature. The main contribution of this paper is to quantitatively evaluates the infl uence of the number of paralleled grid-connected converters as well as the inductance value of the L fi lters on the system’s stable region. It is fi rst revealed that, when the same controller design principles are applied for L -type grid-connected converters, the stable region of the paralleled grid-connected converter system is dependent on the ratio between the fi lter inductances and the number of paralleled converters. Specifi - cally, the stable region is proportional to the ratio. Compared to the qualitative analysis in previous work, this fi nding can provide quantitative guidelines on the fi lter inductors or control system design for grid-connected converter applications in weak grid. Finally, experimental tests are carried out using two paralleled grid-connected converters to confi rm the fi ndings.

      • Distinct DNA methylation profiles between adenocarcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma of human uterine cervix.

        Lee, Eun-Ju,Mcclelland, Michael,Wang, Yipeng,Long, Fred,Choi, Sang-Ho,Lee, Je-Ho Pergamon Press 2009 Oncology Research Vol.18 No.9

<P>Alterations in DNA methylation offer unique prospects as tumor markers. The big limitation in cervical cancer research is that it is too hard to obtain the pure normal tissue from a cervical cancer mass. So, we first profile type-specific DNA methylation of major two types of human uterine cervical cancer, adenocarcinoma (ACA) and squamous cell carcinoma (SCC), to establish a precise source of marker research. To assess the DNA methylation status of promoter regions in human uterine cervical ACAs and SCCs, fresh frozen tissues were obtained from bulky tumor masses to minimize the contamination from normal tissues and two array platforms using digestion with methylation-sensitive restriction-enzyme HpaII, ligation, and PCR were performed: an array of 11,994 (approximately 1.5 kb) PCR products from 10,445 promoter regions, and an array of 355,264 oligonucleotides for 18,212 HpaII fragments in 12,617 promoter regions. Loci near 21 genes showed significant differences between six ACA and four SCC from the analysis of two array data. Real-time PCR-based validation was performed on 13 loci using other nearby candidate methylation targets in the same promoter. Methylation patterns of 11 of 13 linked loci concurred with the microarray results. Four loci were further studied using tissues from additional patients (23 ACA and 24 SCC). Hypermethylation of loci in PAK6 and NOGOR most strongly correlated with ACA. Therefore, we have identified the 21 genes with differential methylation pattern between ACA and SCC and, furthermore, we found that PAK6 and NOGOR could be useful markers of ACA to be distinct from SCC.</P>

Functional Analysis of the Inhibitor of Apoptosis Genes in Antheraea pernyi Nucleopolyhedrovirus

        Feng Yan,Xiaobei Deng,Junpeng Yan,Jiancheng Wang,Lunguang Yao,Songya lv,Yipeng Qi,Hua Xu 한국미생물학회 2010 The journal of microbiology Vol.48 No.2

The inhibitor of apoptosis proteins (IAP) plays an important role in cell apoptosis. We cloned two novel IAP family members, Ap-iap1 and Ap-iap2, from Antheraea pernyi nucleopolyhedrovirus (ApNPV) genome. Ap-IAP1 contains two baculoviral IAP repeat (BIR) domains followed by a RING domain, but Ap-IAP2 has only one BIR domain and RING. The result of transient expression in Spodoptera frugiperda (Sf21) showed that Ap-iap1 blocked cell apoptosis induced by actinomycin D treatment and also rescued the p35 deficient Autographa californica nucleopolyhedrovirus (AcNPV) to replicate in Sf9 cells, while Ap-iap2 does not have this function. Several Ap-IAP1 truncations were constructed to test the activity of BIRs or RING motif to inhibit cell apoptosis. The results indicated that BIRs or RING of Ap-IAP1 had equally function to inhibit cell apoptosis. Therefore deletion of above both of the above domains could not block apoptosis induced by actinomycin D or rescue the replication of AcMNPV△p35. We also screened two phage-display peptides that might interact with Ap-IAP1.
