        Memristive effect with non-zero-crossing current-voltage hysteresis behavior based on Ag doped Lophatherum gracile Brongn

        The memristive effect become a bio-electronics research focus with the development of sustainable systems and the application of multifunctional electronic devices. In this paper, the natural Lophatherum gracile Brongn (LGB) was employed as active layer to prepare Ag/LGB/fluorine-doped tin oxide (FTO) bio-memristor. Further, different doping ratios nano silver powders (Ag nanoparticle) were doped into LGB functional layers at 0 wt%, 0.2 wt%, 0.33 wt%, 1.0 wt%, 2.0 wt%, 10.0 wt% and 20.0 wt%. It is found that the capacitive-coupled memristive performance of the Ag/Ag-doped-LGB/FTO devices was markedly changed. Finally, it is confirmed that Ag ions transferring and Ag filament formation under the applied voltage are responsible for capacitive-coupled memristive behavior. This research has revealed the realization of capacitive-coupled memristive effect of biomemristor, which opens a new way to achieve multifunctional performance for electronic device.

      • Creep analysis of bamboo high‐density polyethylene composites: Effect of interfacial treatment and fiber loading level

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>The effect of chemical treatment at fiber–plastic interface and fiber loading level on creep property of bamboo fiber high‐density polyethylene (BF/HDPE) composites was investigated. For single modifier systems, the use of maleic anhydride grafted polyethylene (PE‐<I>g</I>‐MA) as a coupling agent helped reduce the creep and achieved the optimum effect at the 5.7% loading level. The addition of either a semicrystalline or an amorphous MA grafted ethylene propylene rubber (sEPR‐<I>g</I>‐MA or aEPR‐<I>g</I>‐MA) as an impact modifier increased the creep. For the combined modifiers, the use of PE‐<I>g</I>‐MA in EPR‐<I>g</I>‐MA modified composites gradually improved creep performance. Four‐element Burgers model was shown to fit measured creep data well only within the specified test period. However, both partially stretched Burgers (PSB) model and fully stretched Burgers (FSB) model could be applied for characterization and prediction when the stretching exponent was fixed at certain given values. The FSB model offered a better long‐term prediction based on the short‐term creep data. Time‐temperature superposition technique produced smooth master creep curves through horizontal shifts, but it slightly over‐predicted the long‐term creep for most composite systems. POLYM.       • A Coalitional Game Mechanism of Tasks Execution Considering Trust Relationship among CRPs in Clouds

        Cloud Resource Providers (CRPs) can form CRPs coalitions for executing large scale application tasks by pooling their resources together in cloud computing. However, forming such CRPs coalitions is a challenging problem especially when the trust relationships among CRPs have to be taken into account. Aiming at this problem, we model the formation of CRPs coalitions by considering the trust and reputation of the participanting CRPs in clouds in this paper. An algorithm TCFA for coalition formation is proposed, which can enable the CRPs with high reputation to join into a coalition reducing the cost of execution and guaranteeing the maximum profit for the participanting CRPs. Furthermore, we prove that the formed coalition determined by TCFA is stable, which means that the CRPs that are the part of the coalition do not have incentives to break away from it. Meanwhile, we prove that TCFA can produce a Pareto optimal solution. The results of simulation experiments show that our algorithm TCFA not only can produce stable coalitions structure composed of CRPs with higher reputation, but also can obtain higher individual profit among coalitional members.

        Favorable Immunotherapy Plus Tyrosine Kinase Inhibition Outcome of Renal Cell Carcinoma Patients with Low CDK5 Expression

        Purpose Immunotherapy (IO) plus tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) has become the first-line treatment for advanced renal cell carcinoma, despite the lack of prognostic biomarkers. Cyclin-dependent kinase 5 (CDK5) affects the tumor microenvironment, which may influence the efficacy of TKI+IO. Materials and Methods Two cohorts from our center (Zhongshan Metastatic Renal Cell Carcinoma [ZS-MRCC] cohort, Zhongshan High-risk Localized Renal Cell Carcinoma [ZS-HRRCC] cohort) and one cohort from a clinical trial (JAVELIN-101) were enrolled. The expression of CDK5 of each sample was determined by RNA sequencing. Immune infiltration and T cell function were evaluated by flow cytometry and immunohistochemistry. Response and progression-free survival (PFS) were set as primary endpoints. Results Patients of low CDK5 expression showed higher objective response rate (60.0% vs. 23.3%) and longer PFS in both cohorts (ZS-MRCC cohort, p=0.014; JAVELIN-101 cohort, p=0.040). CDK5 expression was enhanced in non-responders (p < 0.05). In the ZS-HRRCC cohort, CDK5 was associated with decreased tumor-infiltrating CD8+ T cells, which was proved by immunohistochemistry (p < 0.05) and flow cytometry (Spearman’s ρ=–0.49, p < 0.001). In the high CDK5 subgroup, CD8+ T cells revealed a dysfunction phenotype with decreased granzyme B, and more regulatory T cells were identified. A predictive score was further constructed by random forest, involving CDK5 and T cell exhaustion features. The RFscore was also validated in both cohorts. By utilizing the model, more patients might be distinguished from the overall cohort. Additionally, only in the low RFscore did TKI+IO outperform TKI monotherapy. Conclusion High-CDK5 expression was associated with immunosuppression and TKI+IO resistance. RFscore based on CDK5 may be utilized as a biomarker to determine the optimal treatment strategy.

        Maximum Likelihood-based Multi-innovation Stochastic Gradient Method for Multivariable Systems

        This paper considers the parameter estimation problems for multivariable controlled autoregressive moving average systems. By means of the decomposition technique, a multivariable system is transformed into several identification submodels according to the number of outputs. A maximum likelihood extended stochastic gradient identification algorithm is derived for identifying each subsystem by using the maximum likelihood principle. In order to improve the convergence rate, a multivariable maximum likelihood-based muti-innovation stochastic gradient algorithm is proposed. The proposed algorithms can generate more accurate parameter estimates compared with the multivariable extended stochastic gradient algorithm. The illustrative simulation results show that the proposed methods work well.

        Platelet Nitrogen and Sulfur Co-doped Ordered Mesoporous Carbon with Inexpensive Methylene Blue as a Single Precursor for Electrochemical Detection of Herbicide Amitrole

        Heteroatom-doped ordered mesoporous carbons (OMCs) have currently been considered as promising electrode materials for electrochemical sensors due to the combined advantages of ordered mesoporous materials and heteroatom-doped carbon materials. Herein, a novel nitrogen and sulfur co-doped OMCs (N,S-OMC) has been prepared via a nanocasting strategy with an inexpensive methylene blue as single precursor. The obtained mesoporous carbon has platelet morphology, short mesoporous channel together with a large surface area (549 m2/g) as well as rich N- and S-containing functional groups (6.8 at.% N and 2.3 at.% S). Compared with the graphene (GR) and carbon nanotube (CNT) electrode material, the N,S-OMC exhibited a higher electrochemical activity towards the oxidation of herbicide amitrole, ascribable to N,S-OMC's open mesoporous structures and abundant electroactive defect sites on the carbon skeleton. And, an amitrole electrochemical sensor with N,S-OMC modified electrode as working electrode was fabricated, exhibiting a good selectivity, stability, reproducibility and wide linear range of 3–750 μM. Moreover, the N,S-OMC-based electrochemical sensor was proved feasible in river water sample analyses, showing a satisfied recovery ranging from 97.03% to 105.42%. The results not only demonstrate cheap methylene blue can be used as single precursor for the N,S-OMC preparation, but also confirm the N,S-OMC is promising in amitrole sensor fabrication.

        Aqueous two-phase extraction to separate alpha-ketoglutaric acid from fermentation broth by combining crystallization

        Alpha-ketoglutaric acid (a-KG) is a crucial intermediate with broad application prospects. However, thedownstream separation of a-KG from fermentation broth with low concentration and complex componentshas become the bottleneck of large-scale production. In this study, a-KG was separated from theactual fermentation broth by aqueous two-phase system (ATPS) and crystallization. The optimal ATPScomposed of acetone/(NH4)2SO4 was selected by studying the phase diagram and a-KG distributionbehavior in different organic solvents and salts/sugars. Under the optimized conditions, the purity ofa-KG products from crude fermentation broth reached 98.08%, and the one-pass extraction efficiencywas 90.52%. The removal of cell debris and soluble proteins increased with the increase of acetone and(NH4)2SO4 concentrations, with the removal ratios reaching up to 99.44% and 86.54%. In addition,92.56% of the glucose was distributed in the aqueous phase. Although the a-KG fermentation broth ismore complex than the whole-cell biotransformation, impurities in the crude fermentation broth couldbe efficiently removed and a higher a-KG distribution coefficient was obtained. Meanwhile, the recovered(NH4)2SO4 could be reused for fermentation medium. This strategy provides an economical and effectivemethod combined with upstream biosynthesis to recover a-KG and other bioproducts from crude fermentationbroth.

        Molecular Epidemiology and Prevalence of Echovirus 30 in Zhejiang Province, China, from 2002 to 2015

        Echovirus serotype 30 (ECHO30) has been responsible for several recent worldwide outbreaks of viral meningitis. In Zhejiang Province, China, ECHO30 has been one of the main causes of viral meningitis for years. This study, using phylogenetic analysis of the VP1 gene, was performed to investigate the general molecular epidemiology and genetic patterns of ECHO30 circulating in Zhejiang Province between the years 2002 and 2015. The nucleotide sequences of ECHO30 VP1 showed that they were 64.8% identical with the prototype strain, Bastianni, while the amino acids were 84.9% identical. Phylogenetic analyses showed that ECHO30 in the Zhejiang area has diverged into two genotypes. Genotype I consists of strains isolated since 2002, whereas genotype II includes strains that were mainly isolated during the 2002 to 2004 outbreak. ECHO30 has been endemically circulating in both humans and the environment for a long period of time. Additionally, we evaluated the significance of recombination presented during the years 2005 to 2007 to demonstrate that recombination plays an important role in the prevalence of ECHO30 in the Zhejiang area.
