Gut Microbiome Alterations and Functional Prediction in Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria Patients

The effects of the gut microbiome on both allergy and autoimmunity in dermatological diseases have been indicated in several recent studies. Chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU) is a disease involving allergy and autoimmunity, and there is no report detailing the role of microbiota alterations in its development. This study was performed to identify the fecal microbial composition of CSU patients and investigate the different compositions and potential genetic functions on the fecal microbiota between CSU patients and normal controls. The gut microbiota of CSU patients and healthy individuals were obtained by 16s rRNA massive sequencing. Gut microbiota diversity and composition were compared, and bioinformatics analysis of the differences was performed. The gut microbiota composition results showed that Firmicutes, Bacteroidetes, Proteobacteria, and Verrucomicrobia were dominant microbiota in CSU patients. The differential analysis showed that relative abundance of the Proteobacteria (p = 0.03), Bacilli (p = 0.04), Enterobacterales (p = 0.03), Enterobacteriaceae (p = 0.03) was significantly increased in CSU patients. In contrast, the relative abundance of Megamonas, Megasphaera, and Dialister (all p < 0.05) in these patients significantly decreased compared with healthy controls. The different microbiological compositions impacted normal gastrointestinal functions based on function prediction, resulting in abnormal pathways, including transport and metabolism. We found CSU patients exhibited gut microbiota dysbiosis compared with healthy controls. Our results indicated CSU is associated with gut microbiota dysbiosis and pointed out that the bacterial taxa increased in CSU patients, which might be involved in the pathogenesis of CSU. These results provided clues for future microbial-based therapies on CSU.
A Long Way to “Zou-Chu-Qu”: Some Dilemma in China’s Digital Belt and Road Initiative

As digital transformation accelerates, the belt and road initiative (BRI) offers to firms an opportunity to overseas expansion. Since the digital BRI aims to spread Chinese products and services in the global markets, Chinese government actively supports domestic firms for joining the digital BRI. With this background, this study investigates the participants, which will determine the success of this globalization agenda. We examine the effects of network embeddedness and business specialization as well as the moderating effects of digital orientation. Empirical analysis uses the panel data set that consists of 1,256 Chinese listed firms with 3,692 firm-year observations during 2015-2019. The random-effect results show that with a lower level of network embeddedness and a higher level of specialization are more likely to engage in the digital BRI. The relationship between network embeddedness and the BRI participation is strengthened by digital orientation. We argue that firms with solid home network turn down the initiative but those who lack competitiveness are likely to welcome this avenue to explore new markets. It seems that a dilemma exists in the current digital BRI practice that contrasts the original policy intention to dominate global market with Chinese products and services.
A Current-Mode VCSEL Driver for Short-Range LiDAR Sensors in 180-nm CMOS

This paper presents a current-mode VCSEL driver (CMVD) implemented in a 0.18- m CMOS technology for the applications of short-range LiDAR sensors, where a current-steering logic is exploited to deliver the modulation currents (from 0.1 to 10 mApp) and the bias current of 0.1 mA to the VCSEL diode simultaneously. For simulations, the VCSEL diode is modeled as a 1.6-V forward bias voltage with a 50-Ω series resistor. The post-layout simulations of the proposed CMVD demonstrate vividly large output pulses and clean eye-diagrams. The chip consumes a maximum of 44 mW from a 3.3-V supply and the core occupies the area of 0.1 mm2.

Due to the complexity of the contaminations in wastewater, a universal adsorbent that takes many sorts of pollutant is desired. A multi-functioning magnetic Fe3O4-cored magnesium-aluminum layered double oxide (Fe3O4@LDO) composite was prepared and employed as an adsorbent for removing F-, Sb(III) and MO from water, respectively, which are three typical contaminants with different molecule sizes as water contamination. The effect of pH contact time and initial concentrations of pollutants on the removal rates of each contaminant were investigated. Fe3O4@LDO composite showed excellent adsorption performance for all of the three molecules F-, Sb(III) and MO, and their maximum adsorption capacities are as high as 258, 391, and 506mg/g, respectively. The adsorption process of F-, Sb(III) and MO on Fe3O4@LDO fitted well to Langmuir model and pseudo-second-order kinetic model. The adsorption mechanisms of F-, Sb(III) and MO on Fe3O4@LDO were investigated. We discovered that iron ions diffused from Fe3O4 nanospheres contributed to the good performance of the absorbent.

Purpose- Despite the ongoing digital transformation, it is not clear whether emerging market firms follow their manufacturing FDI path in the emerging digital industries. This paper examines how digital orientation affects the location strategies in internationalization and how the existing innovation capacities moderate the link between digital orientation and the location strategies. Design/methodology/approach- This study chooses the Chinese setting for research design because digital transformation is already prevalent in the society and the cases of outward expansion are salient among the emerging markets. It uses the panel dataset of 976 Chinese listed firms that consists of 6,648 observations spanning from 2007 to 2017. Ordinary least square regression is used for the statistical approach with a one-year lag in the model. Findings- Digital orientation increases a likelihood of emerging multinationals’ entries in developed countries, and a high level of innovative capacities strengthens the link. Two groups seem to prefer entries in developed countries: firms with a high level of digital orientation with a high level of innovative capacities and firms with a low level of digital orientation, if with a low level of innovative capacities. The former reflects the context of digital transformation and the latter hints at the tax avoidance or interests in real estate. Research implications or originality -While emerging multinationals are known to prefer entries in developing countries for capacity arbitrage, our results forecast that their FDI strategies may have a drastic change as digital transformation deepens.

Share house provides not only resident private spaces but also public spaces which provide a space for interaction between residents. This study analyzes and compares community place factors Convenience, Amenity, Accessibility and Safety for public space of shared housing in China and South Korea. Grasp the public space definition and community place factors of shared house through preliminary research. Case analysis selected 3 shared house in Seoul and Beijing to analyze four design features. Finally, the Korean and Chinese cases showed disadvantages in terms of convenience, accessibility, and safety, and showed consistency by using Y, YR-series colors and using light efficiently.
가치-태도-행동 체계를 적용한 e스포츠 경기 관람객의 관광행동의도에 관한 연구: 중국 관람객을 대상으로

본 연구는 e스포츠 경기관람이 개최지 지역관광의도에 주는 영향을 살펴보기 위해 가치-태도-행동 체계(VAB)와 공동브랜드 이론을 적용하여 e스포츠 경기관람객의 의사결정구조를 분석하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 e스포츠 경기를 직접 관람한 경험이 있는 중국인들을 대상으로 설문 조사를 진행하였고 총 311부 유효 표본을 수집하여 구조방정식 모델을 이용하여 분석하였다. 분석 결과 e스포츠 경기에 대한 태도는 개최지에 대한 태도에는 영향을 미치지는 않았으나, 관광행동의도에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었으며, e스포츠 경기의 선택속성은 개최지에 대한 태도를 증진시키며 관광행동의도에 긍정적인 영향을 주는 것을 확인하였다. This study investigated the link between esports spectators and their tourism intention using value-attitude-behaviour hierachy(VAB) and co-branding. We"ve conducted a survey on Chinese who had a direct spectator experience on esports. Using a total of 311 samples, this study found that the link between the attitude of esports shows a positive effect on the tourism intention of the venue. Also, esports attributes have a positive relationship with the attitude of the venue.
Enhanced postoperative cancer therapy by iron-based hydrogels

Surgical resection is a widely used method for the treatment of solid tumor cancers. However, the inhibition of tumor recurrence and metastasis are the main challenges of postoperative tumor therapy. Traditional intravenous or oral administration have poor chemotherapeutics bioavailability and undesirable systemic toxicity. Polymeric hydrogels with a three-dimensional network structure enable on-site delivery and controlled release of therapeutic drugs with reduced systemic toxicity and have been widely developed for postoperative adjuvant tumor therapy. Among them, because of the simple synthesis, good biocompatibility, biodegradability, injectability, and multifunctionality, ironbased hydrogels have received extensive attention. This review has summarized the general synthesis methods and construction principles of iron-based hydrogels, highlighted the latest progress of iron-based hydrogels in postoperative tumor therapy, including chemotherapy, photothermal therapy, photodynamic therapy, chemo-dynamic therapy, and magnetothermal-chemical combined therapy, etc. In addition, the challenges towards clinical application of iron-based hydrogels have also been discussed. This review is expected to show researchers broad perspectives of novel postoperative tumor therapy strategy and provide new ideas in the design and application of novel iron-based hydrogels to advance this sub field in cancer nanomedicine.
