The European Union has legislated the Corporate Due Diligence and Corporate Accountability (CDDCA) Act, which unified different contents among the members related to protecting human rights and the environment. CDDCA binds compulsorily and applies to the largest pool of firms. As CDDCA requires that the final-good manufacturers or service providers are responsible for the due diligence of the entire participants in the supply chain, the relevant firms should monitor and supervise tiers of suppliers and subcontractors. The CDDCA approach responds to the global pressure that calls for more than risk management. While human rights protection is being legislated globally, Korea has no legal guidance. While Korean firms need to prepare a code of behavior, the necessary legislation has been delayed, weakening the competitiveness of Korean exports.
정제소금 제조공정에서 다량 발생하는 액상 산업 부산물을 이용한 농업용 미네랄 영양제 개발

최근에는 친환경 농업의 일환으로 채소 및 과수 작물을 중심으로 해수를 직접 농작물에 살포하는 경우가 증가하고 있지만, 해수에 다량 함유된 염화나트륨(NaCl)이 토양에 침척되어 뿌리의 양분흡수를 억제하고 토양입자를 분산시켜 수분의 이동을 어렵게 하여 농작물 고사 또는 토양산성화를 일으키는 원인이 되고 있다. 이러한 염해피해를 방지하기 위해 유용미네랄을 농축시키고 염해물질인 나트륨(Na)제거가 필수적이다. 본 연구에서는 정제소금 제조공정에서 다량 발생하는 액상 산업 부산물을 활용하여 농업용 미네랄 영양제를 개발하고자 한다. 액상 산업 부산물은 중금속이 제거된 부산물로 해수와 같이 70~90여종의 미네랄(Mg, K, Ca 등)이 이온상태로 녹아있기 때문에 흡수가 빠르고, 해수보다 수십배 이상 고농축된 미네랄이 풍부하게 들어있으며, SAR(Sodium Adsorption Ratio)비 또한 낮기 때문에 100~1000배 희석할 경우 나트륨의 영향이 없으므로 비료로의 활용 가능성이 높다. 따라서 중금속 및 세균이 제거된 액상 산업부산물을 정제/여과 과정을 통해 불순물 제거 및 염분(NaCl)을 제거하고, 나트륨(Na)농도를 낮추기 위해 가열 온도와 시간에 따라 비중별 NaCl이 석출되는 지점과 그에 따른 미네랄 함량을 ICP분석을 통해 살펴보았으며, 작물별 처리구와 무처리구의 각 미네랄 함량 차이(Mg, Ca, Na)를 농촌진흥청 내 농업기술실용화재단(종합분석검정센터)에 의뢰하여 분석, 평가하였다.
The Effects of Managerial Tie Traits on Foreign-Market Commitment

Research on foreign entries stresses top management team (TMT) characteristics in decision-making. We select school tie, regional tie, coworker tie, and association tie as TMT characteristics. Resource-based and upper echelons theories suggest that TMT shares similar values and perceptions in its informal ties. At the same time, a lack of organizational diversity makes it difficult to acquire diverse resources in a dynamic environment. Thus, we hypothesize that the homogeneity of TMT informal ties reduces firms’ commitment to foreign markets. Also, we examine how inter-province networks moderate the relationship between informal ties and commitment. Our analysis of private-owned enterprises listed on the China Stock Exchange in Shanghai and Shenzhen from 2017 to 2019 shows that regional, coworker, and association ties negatively affect commitment to foreign markets. The negative impact of regional and association ties can be weakened through official connections outside the local province.

Equations of motions of a pretwisted rotating blade with a concentrated mass in an arbitrary position are derived. The flapwise and chordwise equations are coupled to each other due to the pretwist angle of the blade. As the angular speed, hub radius ratio, pretwist angle and concentrated mass vary, the vibration characteristics of the blade change. It is found that eigenvalue lociveering phenomena occur between two closing loci due to the pretwist angle. The effect of the pretwist angle on the critical angular speed and location of the concentrated mass on the natural frequencies are also investigated.

This study compares supplier relationship by multinational assemblers in China vis-à-vis the Chinese assemblers in the stage of product development. We surveyed seven automobile firms (four international joint ventures and three Chinese firms) during 2005-2007, when the Chinese automobile industry began to rear up. Based on the survey, we examined the roles of suppliers, which is one of the critical dimensions in product development of the automobile industry. Our findings suggest that, during this period, although supplier relationship between two groups did not differ remarkably, there existed subtle but substantial differences: Supplier relationship of the Chinese automakers was oriented with long-term learning. In contrast, supplier relationship of multinational automakers was oriented with short-term efficiency. Both learning and efficiency are key dimensions that determine competitiveness in the automobile industry and they suggest the strategic directions to which the two groups of firms were proceeding. We also discuss the methodological issues, the limitations, and the future research agenda.
