A delay-differential equation model of HIV infection
Xinyu Song,Shuhan Cheng 대한수학회 2005 대한수학회지 Vol.42 No.5
In this paper, we introduce a discrete time to the model todescribe the time between infection of a CD4^+ T-cells, and theemission of viral particles on a cellular level. We study theeffect of the time delay on the stability of the endemicallyinfected equilibrium, criteria are given to ensure that theinfected equilibrium is asymptotically stable for all delay. Wealso obtain the condition for existence of an orbitally asymptotically stable periodic solution.

Background: Xylazole (Xyl) is a veterinary anesthetic that is structurally and functionally similar to xylazine. However, the effects of Xyl in vitro remain unknown. Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the anesthetic mechanism of Xyl using fetal rat nerve cells treated with Xyl. Methods: Fetal rat nerve cells cultured for seven days were treated with 10, 20, 30, and 40 μg/ mL Xyl for 0, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 45, 60, 90, and 120 min. Variations of amino acid neurotransmitters (AANTs), Nitric oxide-Cyclic GMP (NO-cGMP) signaling pathway, and ATPase were evaluated. Results: Xyl decreased the levels of cGMP and NO in nerve cells. Furthermore, Xyl affected the AANT content and Na+-K+-ATPase and Ca2+-Mg2+-ATPase activity in nerve cells. These findings suggested that Xyl inhibited the NO-cGMP signaling pathway in nerve cells in vitro. Conclusions: This study provided new evidence that the anesthetic and analgesic effects of Xyl are related to the inhibition of the NO-cGMP signaling pathway.

STABILITY PROPERTIES OF A DELAYED VIRAL INFECTION MODEL WITH LYTIC IMMUNE RESPONSE
Song, Fang,Wang, Xia,Song, Xinyu The Korean Society for Computational and Applied M 2011 Journal of applied mathematics & informatics Vol.29 No.5
In this paper, a class of more general delayed viral infection model with lytic immune response is proposed by Song et al.[1] ([Journal of Mathematical Analysis Application 373 (2011), 345-355). We derive the basic reproduction numbers $R_0$ and $R_0^*$ 0 for the viral infection, and establish that the global dynamics are completely determined by the values of $R_0$ and $R_0^*$. If $R_0{\leq}1$, the viral-free equilibrium $E_0$ is globally asymptotically stable; if $R_0^*{\leq}1$ < $R_0$, the immune-free equilibrium $E_1$ is globally asymptotically stable; if $R_0^*$ > 1, the chronic-infection equilibrium $E_2$ is globally asymptotically stable by using the method of Lyapunov function.
ANALYSIS OF A STAGE-STRUCTURED PREDATOR-PREY SYSTEM WITH IMPULSIVE PERTURBATIONS AND TIME DELAYS
Song, Xinyu,Li, Senlin,Li, An Korean Mathematical Society 2009 대한수학회지 Vol.46 No.1
In this paper, a stage-structured predator-prey system with impulsive perturbations and time delays is presented to investigate the ecological problem of how a pest population and natural enemy population can coexist. Sufficient conditions are obtained using a discrete dynamical system determined by a stroboscopic map, which guarantee that a 'predator-extinction' periodic solution is globally attractive. When the impulsive period is longer than some time threshold or the impulsive harvesting rate is below a control threshold, the system is permanent. Our results provide some reasonable suggestions for pest management.

EXTINCTION AND PERMANENCE OF A KIND OF PEST-PREDATOR MODELS WITH IMPULSIVE EFFECT AND INFINITE DELAY
Song, Xinyu,Guo, Hongjian Korean Mathematical Society 2007 대한수학회지 Vol.44 No.2
In this paper, a kind of pest-predator model with impulsive effect and infinite delay is considered by the method of chain transform. By using Floquet's theorem, it is shown that there exists a globally asymptotically stable periodic pest eradication solution when the impulsive period is less than or equal to some critical value which is a directly proportional function with respect to the population of release. Furthermore, it is proved that the system is permanent if the impulsive period is larger than some critical value. Finally, the results of the corresponding systems are compared, those results obtained in this paper are confirmed by numerical simulation.

A bimodal grain distribution is generated in the Al-6.5Mg alloy deformed by high strain rate rolling (HSRR) at 320 °C, inwhich the fine grains with the average size of 2.1 μm and the coarse grains with the size of hundreds of microns containingultrafine sub-grains are developed. The deformed microstructures are detected by transmission electron microscopy, X-raydiffraction and electron backscattered diffraction. High strength and considerable ductility are achieved in the HSRRed alloyand the high strength is ascribed to solution strengthening, grain (sub-grain) strengthening and dislocation strengthening. The grain (sub-grain) strengthening is the dominant contributor (~ 146 ± 6 MPa) for yield strength. The generation of newfine grains is primarily observed along the deformation bands related to the high Mg solid content and the high strain rate at320 °C. The dynamic recrystallization related to the deformation bands is proposed to build the bimodal grain distributionfor achieving high strength and considerable ductility.
