      • Preparation and Properties Study of Composites

        Yi Xiaoou,Xiong Weihao,Li Jian 한국분말야금학회 2006 한국분말야금학회 학술대회논문집 Vol.2006 No.1

The particulate strengthened composites were prepared by a PM process to develop novel copper based composites with reasonable strength, high thermal conductivity and low thermal expansion coefficient. Microstructure of the composites was investigated by SEM; the tensile strength, elongation, thermal conductivity and thermal expansion coefficient (CTE) of the composites were examined. A comparative analysis of mechanical and thermal properties of various Cu-matrix composites currently in use was given and the strengthening mechanisms for the composites were discussed.

Synchronization of Ball and Beam Systems with Neural Compensation

Wen Yu,Xiaoou Li 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2010 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.8 No.3

Ball and beam system is one of the most popular and important laboratory models for teaching control system. It is a big challenge to synchronize ball and beam systems. There are two problems for ball and beam synchronized control: 1) many laboratories use simple controllers such as PD control, and theory analysis is based on linear models, 2) nonlinear controllers for ball and beam system have good theory results, but they are seldom used in real applications. In this paper we first use PD control with nonlinear exact compensation for the cross-coupling synchronization. Then a RBF neural network is applied to approximate the nonlinear compensator. The synchronization control can be in parallel and serial forms. The stability of the synchronization is discussed. Real experiments are applied to test our theory results.

Modular design and control of an upper limb exoskeleton

Javier Garrido,Wen Yu,Xiaoou Li 대한기계학회 2016 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.30 No.5

In this paper, we use modular design method to construct an upper limb exoskeleton. This new design method is more simple and easy for exoskeletons than the other techniques, and it is facility to be extended into more joints robots. We also propose a novel admittance control, which works in task space. The admittance control has PID form, and does not need the inverse kinematic and the dynamic model of the exoskeleton. The experimental results show that both the design and the controller work well for the upper limb exoskeleton.

Optimum design of a parallel robot using neuro-genetic algorithm

Erick García López,Wen Yu,Xiaoou Li 대한기계학회 2021 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.35 No.1

There are some advantages of parallel robots over serial ones, such as strong structure, big payload ratio with respect to the weight, and good dynamic response. The disadvantages of the parallel robots are the difficulty of solving the forward kinematics and the limited workspace. We apply the advantages of both neural networks and genetic algorithm, for the parallel robot design. With these two methods, we solve the problems of the maximum workspace and the forward kinematics. The design method we proposed in this paper uses the optimum algorithms such that the workspace volume of the robot is maximum. We successfully applied this method to the Stewart platform.

Homing and Restorative Effects of Bone Marrow-Derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells on Cisplatin Injured Ovaries in Rats

        Liu, Jiabin,Zhang, Haiying,Zhang, Yun,Li, Nan,Wen, Yuku,Cao, Fanglei,Ai, Hao,Xue, Xiaoou Korean Society for Molecular and Cellular Biology 2014 Molecules and cells Vol.37 No.12

Premature ovarian failure (POF) is a long-term adverse effect of chemotherapy treatment. However, current available treatment regimens are not optimal. Emerging evidence suggests that bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) could restore the structure and function of injured tissues, but the homing and restorative effects of BMSCs on chemotherapy injured ovaries are still not clear. In this study, we found that granulosa cell (GC) apoptosis induced by cisplatin was reduced when BMSCs were migrated to granulosa cells (GCs) in vitro. Chemotherapy-induced POF was induced by intraperitoneal injection of cisplatin in rats. BMSCs labeled with enhanced green fluorescent protein (EGFP) were injected into the rats via the tail vein to investigate the homing and distribution of BMSCs in vivo. The number of BMSCs in the ovarian hilum and medulla was greater than in the cortex, but no BMSCs were found in the follicles and corpus lutea. In addition, the BMSCs treatment group's antral follicle count and estradiol levels increased after 30 days, compared with the POF group. Hence, our study demonstrates that intravenously delivered BMSCs can home to the ovaries, and restore its structure and function in POF model rats.
