Young‑Seok Oh,Ho Won Lee,Kook‑Chae Chung,Duck‑Young Hwang,Seong‑Hoon Kang,Jeong Whan Yoon 대한금속·재료학회 2022 METALS AND MATERIALS International Vol.28 No.7
Numerical modeling was conducted to investigate the deformation behavior of powder mixture during multi-pass drawingprocesses for multi-filamentary MgB2wire. A modified Drucker-Prager Cap (DPC) model with an elliptical cap surface usingthe new material characterization method was developed to capture the anisotropic hardening behavior and hydrostatic effectof the powder mixture. A number of uniaxial die compaction, cold isostatic pressing, diametrical compression, and uniaxialcompression tests were conducted using different powder densities to characterize the modified DPC model. A commercialfinite element software ABAQUS with a user subroutine was used to simulate the drawing of the MgB2wire. The densityand area fraction of the powder mixture during the wire-drawing process were verified with experimental results. The differencein packing density at the inner and outer filaments of the MgB2wire was successfully captured by simulation. Inaddition, the effect of the initial packing density on the superconducting properties of MgB2wire was numerically studied. It is shown that the increase in the superconducting area, which results from a high initial packing density, should be moreeffective compared to the increase in the grain connectivity in enhancing the critical current properties for the MgB2wirewhen the final packing density is saturated after a number of drawing processes.

The purpose of this study is to develop an air-passing soundproofing panel with more improved structure to reduce the CO2 emission and installation cost. To reduce the emission of CO2 ; it is suggested to choose low CO2 emission material relative to the aluminum and to reduce the materials by developing a specially designed air-passing soundproofing panel structure. First of all, we performed the flow analysis to predict the wind pressure according to the open angle of the air-passing soundproofing panel and the noise level analysis at the receiver point. To verify the simulation, a prototype of the soundproofing panel was made. The flow test in the wind tunnel and load test were performed. The economic evaluation for the installation of the air-passing soundproofing panel was performed and specifications of the installation was prepared. As the results of this research, it was verified that the wind load was reduced about 40% to that of the conventional one at 25m/s wind speed in the wind tunnel test. By applying the 4m span soundproofing wall with air-passing soundproofing panel and under the cost of 250 thousand won/m2 instead of the conventional 2m span panel, the installation cost will always be lowered than the conventional one in the combination of (60:40~50:50) conventional to air-passing soundproofing panel from the economic evaluation. The 20% reduction of CO2 was found by changing the 50% of aluminum soundproof panel to air-passing soundproofing panel.

고성보(Ko, Seong-Bo),현창석(Hyun, Chang-Seok),강경원(Kang, Kyung-Won) 한국산학기술학회 2011 한국산학기술학회논문지 Vol.12 No.5
The environment of the health food in the world has been changed very rapidly. The world market volume of functional drinks in 2012 will be estimated at $ 26.9 billion, and Asia-Pacific market is expected to be $ 13.6 billion. The domestic market volume of bottled water in 2008 was 440 billion won, and "Jeju Samdasu" sales was 89.1 billion won. But the brand of "Jeju Samdasu" has the limits. As a solution, the comprehensive advertising of the excellence quality of Jeju water is required. To increase the likelihood of success in development of functional and mixed drinks by the water is necessary to develop a global integrated brand. In developing the functional and mixed drinks by the water, we apply the functionality of the Jeju agricultural products actively, and connect Jeju Water industry with Jeju agricultural industry, which promote the overproduction control and the high value- added agricultural products.
Magnetic Resonant Wireless Power Transfer with Rearranged Configurations
Seok Hyon Kang,Chang Won Jung 한국전자파학회JEES 2017 Journal of Electromagnetic Engineering and Science Vol.17 No.2
We investigate the indirect-fed magnetic resonant wireless power transfer (MR-WPT) system for wireless charging for mobile devices by rearranging the loops and coils. Conventional MR-WPT is difficult to apply to consumer electronic products because of the arrangement of the resonators. In addition, there are restrictions for charging using a wireless technology, which depend on the circumstances of the usage scenarios. For practical applications, we analyzed the transfer efficiency of the MR-WPT system with various combinations and positions of resonators. Three rearranged configurations (Out-Out, Out-In, In-In) have been considered and experimentally investigated using hollow pipe loops and wire copper coils. There were four types of loops and two types of coils; each one had a different diameter and thickness. The results of the measurements show that the trends of the transfer efficiencies for the three configurations were similar. A transfer efficiency of 82.5% was achieved at a 35-cm distance between the 60-cm diameter transmitter (Tx) and receiver (Rx) coils.

<P>A phospholipase that functions as a nodal modifier of colon cancer susceptibility mediates the cross-talk between two major tumor suppressor and oncogenic pathways, with implications for disease-selective therapeutic targeting.</P><P>The RB1/E2F1 signaling pathway is frequently deregulated in colorectal cancer and has been suggested to intersect with Wnt/β-catenin and PI3K/Akt pathways, but molecular evidence for this link is lacking. In this study, we demonstrate that phospholipase D1 (PLD1), a transcriptional target of β-catenin/TCF4, orchestrates functional interactions between these pathways during intestinal tumor development. Overexpression of PLD1 in intestinal epithelial cells protected cells from apoptosis induced by PLD1 ablation in the <I>Apcmin/+</I> mouse model of intestinal tumorigenesis. Mechanistic investigations revealed that genetic and pharmacologic targeting of PLD1 promote the E2F1-dependent apoptotic program via both miR-192/4465–mediated downregulation of RB1 and inhibition of Akt–TopBP1 pathways. Moreover, the miRNA–RB1 axis and Akt pathway also contributed to the PLD1-mediated self-renewal capacity of colon cancer–initiating cells. Finally, PLD1-driven E2F1 target gene expression positively correlated with tumor stage in patients with colorectal cancer. Overall, our findings suggest that PLD1 mediates cross-talk between multiple major signaling pathways to promote the survival and malignancy of colon cancer cells and may therefore represent an ideal signaling node for therapeutic targeting. <I>Cancer Res; 77(1); 142–52. ©2016 AACR</I>.</P>

Kang,Yong-Koo,Kim,Hyoung-Min,Bahk,Won-Jong,Lee,Seong-Koo,Kim,Yun-Sil,Kim,Jung-Mang,Moon,Myung-Sang,Woo,Young-yun,Chang,Jee-Young,Yoon,Se-Chul,Song,Seok-Whan 가톨릭중앙의료원 가톨릭암센터 1994 암심포지움 Vol.- No.2
To evaluate the role of radiation and chemotherapy after limb-saving operation in the management of soft tissue sarcoma, the authors analysed retrospectively 33 patients treated in Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Radiation Therapy, Catholic University Medical College, in terms of survival rate, local recurrence and prognostic factors. The sex distribution was 16 males and 17 females. The age distribution ranged from 16 to 81 year old with mean age of 48. The follow-up period ranged from 1 year to 10 years with average of 5.5 years. The histologic diagnoses were 9 liposarcoma(27.2%), 8 MFH(24.2%), 7 unclassifiable(21.2%), 3 rhabdomyosarcoma(9.1%), and 3 fibrosarcoma(9.1%) in orders. While marginal and intralesional margins were gained in 24 patients(72.2%), wide and radical margins were obtained only in 9 patients(27.3%). On postoperative 3 weeks, local irradiation of 5000-7000 cGy was delivered to all patients by shrinking field technique for 5-8 weeks. Of 33 patients, 16(45.5%) patients were recieved adjuvant chemotherapy in combination of adriamycin, cyclophosphamide & vicristine, or VP16 & ifosfamide based on histologic type and obtained surgical margin. The survival rates at 2 years and 5 years were 58% and 37% respectively. Local recurrences occured in 15 patients(45.5%) at average 16 months after operation. In addition, the authors considered surgical margin, presence of local recurrence and tumor size as a significant prognostic factors.
Magnetic Resonant Three-Coil WPT System Between Off/In-Body for Remote Energy Harvest
Kang, Seok Hyon,Choi, Jung Han,Harackiewicz, Frances J.,Jung, Chang Won THE INSTITUTE OF ELECTRICAL ENGINEERS 2016 IEEE Microwave and Wireless Components Letters Vol. No.
<P>In this letter, the effect of the human body in a magnetic resonance wireless power transfer (MR-WPT) system for wearable and implantable devices is studied. To implement the experiment, muscle-mimicking liquid is configured with parameters similar to those of the human body. The transmitter part is located outside the human body (in the air), and the receiver part is implanted in the liquid. The proposed 3-coil MR-WPT system, which operates at 6.78 MHz shows effectively higher transfer efficiencies compared with a 4-coil MR-WPT system at near transfer distance which is the predicted position for a pacemaker. The results indicate that the proposed system with optimized receiver using air-pocket has potential applications in off/in-body devices that benefit from remote energy harvesting, especially at near distances such as pacemakers.</P>
