Honeypot game‐theoretical model for defending against APT attacks with limited resources in cyber‐physical systems

        Wen Tian,Xiaopeng Ji,Weiwei Liu,Jiangztao Zhai,Guangjie Liu,Yauwei Dai,Shuhua Huang 한국전자통신연구원 2019 ETRI Journal Vol.41 No.5

A cyber‐physical system (CPS) is a new mechanism controlled or monitored by computer algorithms that intertwine physical and software components. Advanced persistent threats (APTs) represent stealthy, powerful, and well‐funded attacks against CPSs; they integrate physical processes and have recently become an active research area. Existing offensive and defensive processes for APTs in CPSs are usually modeled by incomplete information game theory. However, honeypots, which are effective security vulnerability defense mechanisms, have not been widely adopted or modeled for defense against APT attacks in CPSs. In this study, a honeypot game‐theoretical model considering both low‐ and high‐interaction modes is used to investigate the offensive and defensive interactions, so that defensive strategies against APTs can be optimized. In this model, human analysis and honeypot allocation costs are introduced as limited resources. We prove the existence of Bayesian Nash equilibrium strategies and obtain the optimal defensive strategy under limited resources. Finally, numerical simulations demonstrate that the proposed method is effective in obtaining the optimal defensive effect.

      • Overexpression of Phospholipase A2 Group IIA in Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma and Association with Cyclooxygenase-2 Expression

Zhai, Yan-Chun,Dong, Bin,Wei, Wen-Qiang,He, Yan,Li, Xin-Qing,Cormier, Robert T.,Wang, Wei,Liu, Fen Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2014 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.15 No.21

Background: Esophageal cancer is one of the most frequently occurring malignancies and the seventh leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the world. The esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) is the most common histological type of esophageal cancer worldwide. Materials and Methods: Our goal in this study was to detect phospholipase A2 Group IIA (PLA2G2A) and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) immuno-expression in ESCC in a high-risk population in China. Results: Positive expression of PLA2G2A protein was observed in 57.2% (166/290) of the cases, while COX-2 was found in 257 of 290 samples (88.6%), both PLA2G2A and COX-2 being expressed in 153 cases (52.8%), with a significant agreement (Kappa=0.091, p=0.031).Overexpression of PLA2G2A was significantly correlated with the depth of invasion (p=0.001). Co-expression of PLA2G2A and COX-2 not only significantly correlated with the depth of invasion (p=0.004) but also with TNM stage (p=0.04). Conclusions: Our results showed that in patients with ESCC, PLA2G2A overexpression and PLA2G2A co-expression with COX-2 is significantly correlated with advanced stage. The biological role and pathophysiologic regulation of PLA2G2A and COX-2 overexpression in ESCC deserve further investigation.

      • An electrostatic discharge based needle-to-needle booster for dramatic performance enhancement of triboelectric nanogenerators

        Zhai, Cong,Chou, Xiujian,He, Jian,Song, Linlin,Zhang, Zengxing,Wen, Tao,Tian, Zhumei,Chen, Xi,Zhang, Wendong,Niu, Zhichuan,Xue, Chenyang Elsevier 2018 APPLIED ENERGY Vol.231 No.-

Abstract

There is plenty of exploitable energy in the ambient environments. Triboelectric nanogenerator is an innovative electricity generation technology to convert the wasted mechanical energy into electrical energy. However, the output of conventional triboelectric nanogenerators cannot be employed efficiently because their tremendous internal resistance limits the current of electrons. Inspired by the principle of lightning rods, for the first time we propose the utilization of electrostatic discharge to improve the performance of triboelectric nanogenerators, which is realized by an opposite needles structure enclosed in an inert atmosphere. When this structure is connected in series with a vertical contact-separation triboelectric nanogenerator, the strong electric field near tips of two needles ionizes the gas around them, forming a conductive plasma channel between the tips, and releasing a mass of free charges. As a result, some exciting performances are obtained in triboelectric nanogenerator. The output peak-to-peak voltage is increased from 300 V to 1300 V, and the equivalent impedance of energy harvesting circuit is reduced from 100 MΩ to 10 kΩ. Especially in the optimal conditions, the maximum continuous power can even be significantly improved by 330.76%. Therefore, this work provides a new strategy for the energy conversion technology, which is significant for the advancement and application of triboelectric nanogenerators.

Highlights

A strategy is proposed to improve the performance of triboelectric nanogenerators.

The maximum continuous power can be boosted dramatically by electrostatic discharge.

This design reduces the optimal impedance that is important for circuit matching.

With this design triboelectric nanogenerators can directly drive low-power devices.

This work is also significant for macro-energy conversion, such as ocean energy.

Graphical abstract

[DISPLAY OMISSION]

Alloying Behavior and Properties of FeSiBAlNiCox High Entropy Alloys Fabricated by Mechanical Alloying and Spark Plasma Sintering

        Wen Wang,Boyu Li,Sicheng Zhai,Juan Xu,Zuozhe Niu,Jing Xu,Yan Wang 대한금속·재료학회 2018 METALS AND MATERIALS International Vol.24 No.5

In this paper, FeSiBAlNiCo x ( x = 0.2, 0.8) high-entropy alloy (HEA) powders were fabricated by mechanical alloying process, and the powders milled for 140 h were sintered by spark plasma sintering (SPS) technique. The microstructures andproperties of as-milled powders and as-sintered samples were investigated. The results reveal that the fi nal milling products(140 h) of both sample powders present the fully amorphous structure. The increased Co contents obviously enhance theglass forming ability and thermal stability of amorphous HEA powders, which are refl ected by the shorter formation time offully amorphous phase and the higher onset crystallization temperature, respectively. According to coercivity, the as-milledFeSiBAlNiCo x ( x = 0.2, 0.8) powders (140 h) are the semi-hard magnetic materials. FeSiBAlNiCo 0.8 HEA powders possessthe highest saturation magnetization and largest remanence ratio. The SPS-ed products of both bulk HEAs are composedof body-centered cubic solid solution, and FeSi and FeB intermetallic phases. They possess the high relative density above97% and excellent microhardness exceeding 1150 HV. The as-sintered bulks undergo the remarkable increase in saturationmagnetization compared with the as-milled state. The SPS-ed FeSiBAlNiCo 0.8 HEA exhibits the soft magnetic properties. The electrochemical corrosion test is carried out in 3.5% NaCl solution. The SPS-ed FeSiBAlNiCo 0.2 HEA reveals the betterpassivity with low passive current density, and the higher pitting resistance with wide passive region.

Study on the Cyclic Behavior of an UPPC Beam with an Energy Dissipator and a Conventional UPPC Beam

        Xiaoying Wen,Yanhe Li,Jianlei Zhai,Yue Liu 대한토목학회 2018 KSCE JOURNAL OF CIVIL ENGINEERING Vol.22 No.9

In this study, low reversed cyclic loading experiments were performed on an Unbonded Partially Prestressed Concrete (UPPC) beam with an energy dissipator and a conventional UPPC beam to investigate the seismic performance of the beams, including displacement restoration, energy dissipation capacity, ductility, and failure patterns. Studies have shown that UPPC beams with energy dissipators are superior to conventional UPPC beams in terms of displacement restoration, energy dissipation capacity, and ductility and are inferior to conventional UPPC beams in terms of failure patterns. The results of this investigation can help us to improve the poor energy dissipation capacity and lack of displacement restoration in UPPC beams. The contact relationship between the unbonded prestressed tendon and the concrete was simulated using the coupling interaction method, The hysteresis curve based on the calculations was close to the hysteresis curve obtained experimentally. The ultimate bearing capacity and ultimate displacement are highly similar.

Enhanced Electrochromic Performance of Film Based on Preyssler-Type Polyoxometalate and Tungsten Oxide

        Yanyan Yang,Yue Qi,Wenli Zhai,Jianing Tan,Suyang Feng,Jie Zhang,Mengxiao Shen,Liuding Wang,Xiaoyang Yu,Xiaoshu Qu 대한금속·재료학회 2020 ELECTRONIC MATERIALS LETTERS Vol.16 No.5

Tungsten oxide (WO3) has received attention as an electrochromic material because of its excellent properties. However, the long switch time and low coloration efficiency of WO3film limit its use. Herein, a nanocomposite film containingPreyssler-type polyoxometalate (POM) K12.5Na1.5[NaP5W30O110]·15H2O (P5W30) and WO3nanoparticles has been fabricatedby layer-by-layer (LbL) self-assembly methods and characterized by UV-Vis spectra, scanning electron microscopy, X-rayphotoelectron spectroscopy and electrochemical workstation. Compared to the pure WO3film, the [P5W30/WO3]20 filmhas better electrochromic properties. Then, the electrochromic properties of [P5W30/WO3]20 film were studied in differentelectrolyte. The results indicated that the composite film show high coloration efficiency (191.62 cm2C−1), fast switch time(2.58 s, 1.48 s), good CV stability (500 th) in 0.5 M LiClO4/PC electrolyte, and successfully assembled of an electrochromicdevice. These advantages can make the nanocomposite film become a promising candidate for potential application inelectrochromic devices.

Prevalence and Genetic Characterization of Toxoplasma gondii in Pet Dogs in Central China

        Wei-Feng Qian,Wen-Chao Yan,Tian-Qi Wang,Kai Zhai,Li-Fang Han,Chao-Chao Lv 대한기생충학열대의학회 2015 The Korean Journal of Parasitology Vol.53 No.1

The prevalence and genotype of Toxoplasma gondii infection in dogs in Henan Province, Central China was investigated. A total of 125 blood samples were collected from pet dogs during April to June 2013, and all samples were examined by indirect hemagglutination antibody test (IHA) and nested PCR. The overall T. gondii prevalence in pet dogs was 24.0% (30/125), with 20.8% (26/125) in IHA and 10.4% (13/125) in PCR, respectively. No statistical associations were found between animal gender and age and the prevalence of T. gondii infection. Thirteen positive DNA samples were genotyped using 11 PCR-RFLP markers, including SAG1, (3’+5’) SAG2, alt.SAG2, SAG3, BTUB, GRA6, c22-8, c29- 2, L358, PK1, and Apico. Of these, only 2 samples were genotyped with complete data for all loci, and a novel genotype (type III at SAG3 and GRA6 loci, and type I at other loci) was identified. This is the first report of genetic characterization of T. gondii infection in dogs in China.

Aperiodically Intermittent Adaptive Event-triggered Control for Linear Multi-agent Systems

        Yunlong Zhang,Guoguang Wen,Ahmed Rahmani,Xiaoqin Zhai 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2023 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.21 No.1

This paper investigates the aperiodically intermittent adaptive event-triggered control strategy for general linear multi-agent systems. The aperiodically intermittent adaptive event-triggered control inherits the respective advantages of aperiodically intermittent control strategy, event-triggered control strategy and adaptive control strategy, which improves communication efficiency, reduces control update frequency and is closer to the practical situations. Firstly, to reach leader-following consensus and save more control resources, a distributed aperiodically intermittent event-triggered scheme is devised, in which the transmission channels among agents only open if the local event-trigger condition is satisfied in predefined time intervals. Then, in order to get rid of continuous inter-agent communication for monitoring the triggering condition, a more general triggering mechanism is presented, in which discrete-time combinational measurement is adopted instead of using continuous-time tracking error directly. Next, to overcome the unexpected large feedback gains in real applications and appropriately tune the feedback gains, the aperiodically intermittent adaptive event-triggered controller is further devised. With aid of the matrix theory, stability theory of switching systems and Lyapunov function, some sufficient criteria are deduced. Moreover, the analyses of excluding the Zeno behavior are included, and explicit positive lower bounds between any two consecutive time intervals are rigorously guaranteed. Finally, the effectiveness for the designed control strategies is validated by simulations.
