      • 吳德功《觀光日記》探析

        台灣彰化縣文人吳德功(1850-1924)所著《觀光日記》, 寫於明治三十三年(1900), 當時台灣兒玉源太郎總督擧辦了揚文會, 邀請全台灣具有生員(卽秀才)以上身分的台灣文人與會, 目的說要網羅台灣俊傑之才, 發揚儒家文明敎化, 這本《觀光日記》, 便是記載吳德功參與這場盛會的所見所聞。這本書除了是一本日記體遊記, 具有文學的價値外, 它的內容同時記錄了揚文會的點點滴滴, 以及日本政府爲了宣揚新敎育、新學術所安排的産業觀光活動, 從這些內容可以看到日本政府擧辦揚文會的政治目的與手段, 這是此書在史料上的另一項學術價値。此外, 吳德功在參與揚文會的去程與回程中, 記錄了交通輸運的工具和路線, 以及沿途的地理景觀和人文風情, 這有助於讀者了解日治時期台灣的民間風光與交通槪況, 這有地學上的助益和貢獻。綜合上述種種的特點, 此書的硏究有其必要性和價値性, 値得我們予以關注。 The sightseeing diary written by Te-kung Wu (1850-1924), a scholar in Changhua County, Taiwan, was written in 1900 when Kodama Gentaro, Governor of Taiwan held Yang Wen Hui (a conference to raise the profile of scholars and promote the civilization) and invited the scholars from Taiwan who were above the rank of Xiucai (i.e. the scholars who had passed the imperial examination at the county level). the purpose was to recruit Taiwan's outstanding talents and promote Confucian civilization. This Sightseeing Diary is a record of what Te-kung Wu saw and heard during this grand gathering.Apart from being a diary-style travel book with literary value, the contents of this book also record the little bits and pieces of the Yang Wen Hui and the industrial sightseeing activities arranged by the Japanese government to promote new education and new learning. From these contents, we can see the political aims and means of the Japanese government to hold the Yang Wen Hui, which is another academic value of this book in historical materials.In addition, Te-kung Wu recorded the transportation tools and routes, as well as the geographical landscape and cultural customs along the way during his trip and return trip to Yang Wen Hui, which helps readers to understand the folk scenery and traffic situation in Taiwan during the Japanese rule, and is of geological help and contribution. In view of the above-mentioned characteristics, the study of this book is of necessity and value and deserves our attention.

      • Research on Decoupling and Driving Factors of Industrial Ecosystem in Jiangsu Province

        Industrial sectors have resulted in a large amount of pollution. Environmental degradation problem requires more indepth research on relationships between different sectors’ economic output and pollutant emissions. This paper analyzes the relationship between industrial economy and ecology. On the basis of it, the driving factors of industrial sectors’ pollution emissions are analyzed. Firstly, decoupling elasticity of industrial sectors in Jiangsu province during 2004-2013 is analyzed by Tapio decoupling model. And then, the industrial sectors are classified into three types according to the different decoupling elasticity. Finally, the three types of industrial sectors’ driving factors of industrial solid waste output are decomposed by LMDI method. The results show that: industrial sectors in Jiangsu province are divided into strong decoupling sectors, weak decoupling sectors and expansive negative decoupling sectors; economic development significantly promotes the increase of industrial solid waste output of all sectors; technology improvement and industrial structure largely decrease industrial solid waste output of strong decoupling sectors and weak decoupling sectors; however, technology improvement accelerates industrial solid waste output of expansive negative decoupling sectors; the role of industrial structure factor changes from restraint to promotion of expansive negative decoupling sectors.

        Analysis of China’s Total Factor Productivity Performance Based on Cross-economy Comparison

        본 연구는 1992년부터 2018년까지의 기간에 대하여 중국의 총요소생산성에 대한 성장률 및 수준, 그리고 총요소생산성의 경제 성장에 대한 기여도를 분석하였다. 첫째로, 총요소생산성의 성장률은 성장회계 프레임워크를 통해 솔로우 잔차를 이용하여 추정하였다. 이에 대한 분석 결과, 총요소생산성의 증가가 중국 경제 성장의 중요한 요인으로 작용하였지만, 최근 몇 년 동안에는 총요소생산성의 성장이 다소 둔화된 것으로 확인되었다. 둘째로, 국가 간 비교분석에서는 중국의 총요소생산성의 증가가 다른 국가들과 비교하여 매우 빠르고 경제성장에 훨씬 큰 역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 더불어, 중국의 총요소생산성 수준이 현재는 다른 국가들과 비교하여 상대적으로 낮으나 향후 상당히 더 높은 수준에 도달할 잠재성을 갖추고 있음을 보여주었다. 마지막으로, 본 연구의 실증분석 결과에서는 중국의 총요소생산성 성장이 장기적으로 지속가능하나 이와 더불어, 총요소생산성 수준의 향상이 필수적이고 장기적인 과업이라는 것을 보여주었다. This study aims to investigate China’s total factor productivity (TFP) growth rate, TFP level, and TFP growth’s contribution to the country‘s economic growth over the 1992-2018 period. Applying the growth accounting framework, the TFP growth rate is estimated by using the Solow residual. The results show that TFP growth has become an important source of China’s economic growth but there has been a mild slowdown in China’s TFP growth in recent years. A cross-economy comparison shows that TFP growth in China is both much faster and plays a more significant role in its economic growth, as compared with other noteworthy economies. The results also indicate that China’s TFP level, while still being relatively low, has the potential to reach significantly higher levels in the future. The empirical analysis in this study tends to support the argument that China’s growth is sustainable in the long run, but also indicates that improving its TFP level will be a necessary and long-term task.

        Copper as an Antimicrobial Agent against Opportunistic Pathogenic and Multidrug Resistant Enterobacter Bacteria

        Infections by Enterobacter species are common and are multidrug resistant. The use of bactericidal surface materials such as copper has lately gained attention as an effective antimicrobial agent due to its deadly effects on bacteria,yeast, and viruses. The aim of the current study was to assess the antibacterial activity of copper surfaces against Enterobacter species. The antibacterial activity of copper surfaces was tested by overlying 5×106 CFU/ml suspensions of representative Enterobacter strains and comparing bacterial survival counts on copper surfaces at room temperature. Iron, stainless steel, and polyvinylchloride (PVC) were used as controls. The mechanisms responsible for bacterial killing on copper surfaces were investigated by a mutagenicity assay of the D-cycloserin (cyclA gene), single cell gel electrophoresis,a staining technique, and inductively coupled plasma mass spectroscopy. Copper yielded a significant decrease in the viable bacterial counts at 2 h exposure and a highly significant decrease at 4 h. Loss of cell integrity and a significantly higher influx of copper into bacterial cells exposed to copper surfaces, as compared to those exposed to the controls,were documented. There was no increase in mutation rate and DNA damage indicating that copper contributes to bacterial killing by adversely affecting cellular structure without directly targeting the genomic DNA. These findings suggest that copper’s antibacterial activity against Enterobacter species could be utilized in health care facilities and in food processing plants to reduce the bioburden, which would increase protection for susceptible members of the community.

      • ADPRT Val762Ala and XRCC1 Arg194Trp Polymorphisms and Risk of Gastric Cancer in Sichuan of China

        Objective: Gastric cancer remains a major health problem in China. We hypothesized that XRCC1 Arg194Trp and ADPRT Val762Ala may be associated with risk. Methods: We designed a multicenter 1:1 matched case-control study of 307 pairs of gastric cancers and controls between October 2010 and August 2011. XRCC1 Arg194Trp and ADPRT Val762Ala were sequenced, and demographic data as well as lifestyle factors were collected using a self-designed questionnaire. Results: Individuals carrying XRCC1 Trp/Trp or Arg/Trp variant genotype had a significantly increased risk of gastric cancer (OR, 1.718; 95% CI, 1.190-2.479), while the OR for ADPRT Val762Ala variant genotype (Ala/Ala or Val/Ala) was 1.175 (95% CI, 0.796-1.737). No gene-gene or gene-environment interactions were found. In addition, family history of cancer and drinkers proportion were higher among cases than among controls (P<0.05). Conclusions: XRCC1 194 Arg/Trp or Trp/Trp genotype, family history of cancer, and drinking are suspected risk factors of gastric cancer from our study. Our findings may offer insight into further similar large gene-environment and gene-gene studies in this region.

        Experimental and numerical study on the fracture coalescence behavior of rock-like materials containing two non-coplanar filled fissures under uniaxial compression

        In this research, experimental and numerical simulations were adopted to investigate the effects of ligament angle on compressive strength and failure mode of rock-like material specimens containing two non-coplanar filled fissures under uniaxial compression. The experimental results show that with the increase of ligament angle, the compressive strength decreases to a nadir at the ligament angle of $60^{\circ}$, before increasing to the maximum at the ligament angle of $120^{\circ}$, while the elastic modulus is not obviously related to the ligament angle. The shear coalescence type easily occurred when ${\alpha}$ < ${\beta}$, although having the same degree difference between the angle of ligament and fissure. Numerical simulations using $PFC^{2D}$ were performed for flawed specimens under uniaxial compression, and the results are in good consistency with the experimental results. By analyzing the crack evolution process and parallel bond force field of rock-like material specimen containing two non-coplanar filled fissures, we can conclude that the coalescence and propagation of crack are mainly derived from parallel bond force, and the crack initiation and propagation also affect the distribution of parallel bond force. Finally, the displacement vectors in ligament region were used to identify the type of coalescence, and the results coincided with that obtained by analyzing parallel bond force field. These experimental and numerical results are expected to improve the understanding of the mechanism of flawed rock engineering structures.

        Analysis of Total Factor Productivity in the Chinese Manufacturing Sector: Focusing on Firm Ownership Types

        This study reinvestigates Total Factor Productivity (TFP) growth in the Chinese manufacturing sector from 1999 to 2016 and estimates TFP growth in different ownership types over the period 2004 to 2011. First, this study employs the Malmquist index since it is possible to compare TFP growth among manufacturing sectors and identify the main source of TFP growth. The estimated results show that the average TFP growth among Chinese manufacturing industries is 6.4% per year, and technical progress is found to be the main source of TFP growth. The efficiency change in the Chinese manufacturing sector is poor due to research and development effects, and there is a significant disparity in terms of TFP growth among the 28 manufacturing industries in China. Second, although the estimated results show that TFP growth in all ownership types is positive, there is a significant disparity among different ownership types due to various causes. Overall, the findings from this study provide an optimistic expectation for the future development of the Chinese manufacturing sector based on technical progress, while Chinese manufacturing firms need to pay much attention to promoting their efficiency in the future.

        Honeypot game‐theoretical model for defending against APT attacks with limited resources in cyber‐physical systems

        A cyber‐physical system (CPS) is a new mechanism controlled or monitored by computer algorithms that intertwine physical and software components. Advanced persistent threats (APTs) represent stealthy, powerful, and well‐funded attacks against CPSs; they integrate physical processes and have recently become an active research area. Existing offensive and defensive processes for APTs in CPSs are usually modeled by incomplete information game theory. However, honeypots, which are effective security vulnerability defense mechanisms, have not been widely adopted or modeled for defense against APT attacks in CPSs. In this study, a honeypot game‐theoretical model considering both low‐ and high‐interaction modes is used to investigate the offensive and defensive interactions, so that defensive strategies against APTs can be optimized. In this model, human analysis and honeypot allocation costs are introduced as limited resources. We prove the existence of Bayesian Nash equilibrium strategies and obtain the optimal defensive strategy under limited resources. Finally, numerical simulations demonstrate that the proposed method is effective in obtaining the optimal defensive effect.
