To assess the occurrence of high-risk human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and p53 alterations in minimal deviation adenocarcinoma (MDA) of the uterine cervix, paraffin sections were used to investigate the presence of HPVs 16 and 18 and p53 expression and mutation in six cases of MDA. By polymerase chain reaction, only one case was positive for HPV 16 and none was positive for HPV 18. By in situ polymerase chain reaction in the case positive for HPV 16, HPV 16 was detected in a low-grade squamous intraepithelial lesion overlying the MDA but not in the MDA itself. All of the MDAs were negative or only focally positive for p53 by immunohistochemistry. Our polymerase chain reaction DNA sequencing study failed to detect p53 mutation in exons 5 to 8 in those cases focally positive for p53 expression. These results suggest that MDA may be associated only occasionally with the high-risk HPVs or with p53 gene alterations (International Journal Gynecologic Pathology 18:215-219, (1999)
Surface Pion Condensation of Finite Nuclei in Relativistic Mean Field Theory
Hiroshi Toki,Kiyomi Ikeda,Satoru Sugimoto 한국물리학회 2003 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.43 No.I
We have not considered the pion in the relativistic mean field theory until now due to the parity conservation of the intrinsic single particle states. We discuss here the possible occurrence of surface pion condensation in finite nuclei, which breaks the parity intrinsically. We show the argument for this possibility by the recent ndings in few body calculations and the spin- ip experiments. We show the calculated results on various N = Z nuclei using the relativistic mean eld theory with a pion. We will discuss also the recent development of using the chiral Lagrangian for nuclear many body system.
Analyzing dynamic characteristics of nonlocal porous graded beams under impulse and thermal loading
Al-Toki, Mouayed H.Z.,Fenjan, Raad M.,Ahmed, Ridha A.,Faleh, Nadhim M.,Abdullah, Wael Najm Techno-Press 2021 Advances in computational design Vol.6 No.4
In the framework of nonlocal strain gradient theory, the dynamic responses of a porous functionally graded (FG) nano-size beam under half-sine impulse load and thermal environment. The half-sine impulse load has been modeled as a point load located on the top surface of the nano-size beam. The exerted impulse load leads to the transient vibrations of the nano-size beam at a prescribed time. The porous beam has been described with two pore distributions named even-type and uneven-type pores. The formulation has been developed based upon the refined beam model while the equations will be solved numerically using differential quadrature (DQ) method. Finally, the dynamic deflections in transient region will be derived with the usage of Laplace transform technique. It will be indicated that temperature variation, pore distribution and nano-scale factors have remarkable influences on dynamic resonse of the nano-size beam subjected to sine-type impulse loads.

Background/Aims Although risk factors of reflux esophagitis (RE) have been investigated in numerous cross-sectional studies, little is known about predictive factors associated with future onset of RE. We investigated time courses of clinical parameters before RE onset by a longitudinal case-control study using health checkup records. Methods We used health checkup records between April 2004 and March 2014 at 9 institutions in Japan. A multivariate logistic regression analysis was performed to evaluate associations of baseline clinical parameters with RE. The time courses of the clinical parameters of RE subjects were compared with those of non-RE subjects by the mixed-effects models for repeated measures analysis or longitudinal multivariate logistic analysis. Results Initial data were obtained from 230 056 individuals, and 2066 RE subjects and 4132 non-RE subjects were finally included in the analysis. Body mass index, alanine aminotransferase, smoking, acid reflux symptoms, hiatal hernia, and absence of atrophic gastritis at baseline were independently associated with RE. The time courses of body mass index, fasting blood sugar, triglyceride, aspartate aminotransferase, alanine aminotransferase, γ-glutamyl transpeptidase, percentages of acid reflux symptoms, feeling of fullness, and hiatal hernia in the RE group were significantly worse than in the non-RE group. Conclusions The RE group displayed a greater worsening of the clinical parameters associated with lifestyle diseases, including obesity, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, and fatty liver for 5 years before RE onset compared with the non-RE group. These results suggest that RE is a lifestyle disease and thus lifestyle guidance to at-risk person may help to prevent RE onset. (J Neurogastroenterol Motil 2022;28:86-94)

Numerical investigation on dynamic characteristics of sandwich plates under periodic and thermal loads has been presented by assuming that the plate has three layers which are a foam core and two skins. The foam core made of Aluminum has porosities with uniform and graded dispersions. The sandwich plate has been supposed to be affected by periodical compressive loads. Also, temperature variation causes uniform thermal load. The formulation has been established based upon a higher-order plate theory and Ritz method has been used to solve the equations of motion. The stability boundaries have also been obtained performing Bolotin’s method. It will be indicated that stability boundaries of the sandwich plate depend on periodical load parameters, porosities, skin thickness and temperature.
A numerical study on vibration behavior of fiber-reinforced composite panels in thermal environments

This paper is devoted to the presentation of a numerical study on vibration behavior of composite panels reinforced by glass fibres and carbon nanotubes (CNTs) subjected to thermal environments. The effect of temperature variation has been included as thermal load acting on in-plane direction of the panel. To model the composite material, a micromechanical model which contains random dispersion of nanotubes and single-direction fibers has been selected. The geometry of the panel has been considered to have a single curveture along its width. Based on the above assumptions, the governing equations have been derived by using thin shell theory capturing the panel curveture and also nonlinear deflections. Finally, the panel dependence on various factors such as the curveture, nanotube amount, fiber volume, fiber direction and temperature variation has been researched.
