      • Effect of Drying Agents and Ethyl Alcohol on Change of Flower Color of Gentian (Gentiana uchiyamai) in Pressed Flower

        The effects of drying agents and ethyl alcohol treatment on the flower color of Gentiana uchiyamai. The flower color was not much changed in flower sheet, in the case of absorbtion papers only. The color was least changed in Korean and China hwasunjis, in the case of absorbtion papers and silica gel treatment. The color was less changed in flower sheets, window papers, and China hwasunjis, and was most changed in newspapers, in the case of absorbtion papers and Na2SO4 수식 이미지 treatment. The color was least changed in China hwasunjis, and most changed in dampened papers, in the case of absorbtion papers and CaO treatment. The color tended to change far from the original one, as treatment time got longer, in the case of 0.01M and 0.lM of tartaric acid. The longer the treatment time and the bigger the concentration of ethyl alcohol, the bigger flower color.

      • Plant Regeneration and Bulblet Formation of Allium wakegi Araki

        Allium wakegi was cultured shoot tip in the condition of light culture. The Allium wakegi added plant growth regulator was observed of plant regeneration and bulblet formation. Callus Induction and growing rate was the best of 78% when added alone 2,4-D 0.5mg/L. In the formation of shoot, its regeneration rate was 96% when added BA 0.5mg/L in the light culture condition. When BA 0.5mg/L and NAA 0.5mg/L mixed and BA 0.5 mg/L and NAA 1.0mg/L mixed, the rates were 99% and 97% respectively, and these conditions were suitable for forming shoot. In the formation of roots, when added NAA 2.0mg/L in the light culture condition, the regeneration rate was 90.6 % and the roots were abnormal. When added NAA 1.0mg/L, the rate was 82 % and the highest. In the formation of bulbs, when BA 05mg/L and NAA 1.0mg/L mixed, the root generantion and its size in the bulbs was the best compare to other treatment experiments.

      • Constituents Analysis of Amino Acid and Antioxidative Activity from Cultivated Callus and Rhizome in Rhodiola sachalinensis

        The material of Rhodiola sachatinensis collected from an alpine region of the west-northern China. For analysing the effect, 1 used Rhodiola sachatinensis s rhizome and cultivated callus. In EtOAc, BuOH, H₂0separation the plant showed strong antioxidative activity, but not in Hexane. The radical scavenging effect of EtOAc(RC50, 35(g), BuOH(RC50, 43(g), H₂0(RC50, 50(g) fraction and MeOH extract(RC50, 50(g) of the Rhodiola sachatinensis was comparable to that of synthetic antioxidant BHA(RC50, 14(g) and α-Tocopherol(RC50, 12(g). Total amino acid concentration of plant of In nature condition were 18,009ppm, and major components were arginine, glutamic acid, aspartic acid and valine. The ratio of essential/total amino acid on plant of In nature condition was 46.93%. Total amino acid concentration of callus of In vitro condition were 32,435ppm, and major components were valine, histidine, lysine and leucine. The ratio of essential/total amino acid on callus of In vitro condition was 56.07%. was 56.07%.

        Meteorogical Mechanisms Associated with Long-range Transport of Asian Dust Observed at the West Coast of North America in April 2001

        Meteorological mechanisms in association with long-range transport of Asian dust in April 2001 have been investigated using weather maps, satellite images, TOMS and surface PM_10 data, backward trajectories, plus modeling output results (geopotential heights, horizontal wind vectors, potential temperatures, and streamlines). The results indicated that long-range transport of Asian dust to the west coast of North America was associated with strong westerlies between the Aleutian low and the Pacific high acting as a conveyor belt. Accelerating westerly flows due to cyclogenesis at the source regions over East Asia transported pollution from the continent to the central Pacific. When the system reached the Aleutian Islands, the intensity of troughs and the westerlies were amplified in the North Pacific. Thereafter the winds between the Aleutian Islands and the Pacific Ocean were more intensified from the air flow transport of the conveyor belt. Consequently, the strong wind in the conveyor belt enhanced the dust transport from the Pacific Ocean to the west coast of North America. This was evidenced by PM_10 concentration (maximum of about 100㎍m­³) observed in California. Further evidence of the dust transport was found through the observation of satellite images, the distribution of TOMS aerosol index, and the analyses of streamlines and backward trajectories.

        문화지 『현대』와 대전문학

        해방직후 대전에서 발행된 『현대』는 한국 현대문학의 한 단면을 성찰할 주요한 내용들을 담고 있다. 해방 직후라는 거대한 역사적 상황, 좌익계라는 민감한 이념적 범주, ``문화지``라 표방된 편집에의 정향, 그리고 대전에서 발행되었다는 지역적 조건 등이 여기에는 전제되어야 한다. 그러면서도 『현대』에서 무엇보다도 주목하게 되는 것은 대전문학의 형성을 밝힐 주요한 내용을 담고 있다는 점이다. 문학은 『현대』에 가장 비중 있게 다루어진 내용인데, 이는 당대 지역문학이 중앙문단과 어떤 관계에서 출발하였는가를 실증적으로 확인할 자료적 가치를 지니고 있다. 당대 정치의 동향이나 문단 사정을 확인할 수 있는 것도 이 잡지가 담보하고 있는 무시할 수 없는 자료로서의 가치이다. 문화단체총연맹이나 조선 문학가동맹의 가장 시급한 현안 과제였던 문화대중화 운동이 각 지역의 지부와 연계하여 수행된 사례를 이 잡지는 기록으로 남겨두고 있다. 대전지역의 대표적인 문인인 박용래와 박희선, 정치적인 여건에 의해 사라져간 염인수와 이병권 등의 활동을 살펴볼 수 있는 것도 『현대』가 지니고 있는 중요한 면모라 할 것이다. 문화지를 표방했듯이, 해방직후 지역문화의 한 단면을 엿볼 수 있는 점도 『현대』를 통해서 엿볼 수 있는 자료의 측면이라 할 것이다. Culture journal Hyundae and Daejeon literature Song, Ki-Seob Hyundae[現代] is a culture journal published in 1947. Hyangto[鄕土] was published in 1945, right after independence. They traced the origin of Daejeon literature. Local literature is literature which made by local people. Hyundae showed local literature`s characteristic and limitation. Its characteristic is that it was published by writers in Daejeon. The limitation was that it didn`t have its own literary identity that is distinctive from Seoul`s. The limitation was not overcome, and Hyundae was discontinued due to political and economic reasons. Daejeon culture journal Kyungin[耕人] was published in 1920s. It was made by Japanese, so actual Daejeon local literature began after the Independence. Hyundae was published as the branch of ``Blindness`` in Daejeon. Hyundae conducted its role as a local organization related to the central organization. It vividly recorded how culture organizations popularized cultures. This is material value that only Hyundae possesses as a local journal. Although Hyundae was turned away by history of Daejeon literature, it`s hard to deny that it contributed to form of local literature. It can be easily understood considering Park Yongrae and Park Heesun, the representative local writers. They participate in Hyundae following Hyangto and Dongbaek[冬栢]. Park Heesun also participate in Hoseo Literature[湖西文學], which occupy mainstream of Daejeon literature later. Among modern public journals, Hyundae is first to stimulate young writers and satisfy their passion for literature. It can be said that Hyundae is the internal source of energy that developed the potential of local literature.

        Regulator of G-protein signaling 4 suppresses LPS-induced MUC5AC overproduction in the airway.

        <P>Mucus overproduction and airway obstruction are common features in airway mucosal inflammation. The mechanism by which LPS induces MUC5AC overexpression, however, has not been fully explored. The aims of this study were twofold: first, to examine the ATP-dependent mechanism by which LPS induces MUC5AC gene expression, and second, to identify specific molecules that could suppress LPS-induced MUC5AC expression at a G-protein-coupled receptor level. Here, we suggest that LPS from Pseudomonas aeruginosa induces MUC5AC overproduction by both an ATP-dependent pathway and an ATP-independent pathway. In addition, we showed that Regulator of G-protein signaling (RGS) 4 plays as a suppressor for ATP-induced MUC5AC expression by interacting with G alpha q in a GTP-dependent manner in vivo. These results give additional insights into the molecular mechanism of negative regulation of mucin overproduction and enhance our understanding of mucus hypersecretion during airway mucosal inflammation.</P>

        Determination of Algerian Weighted Mean Temperature Model for forthcoming GNSS Meteorology Application in Algeria

        Since the accuracy of precipitable/integrated water vapor estimates from GNSS measurements is proportional to the accuracy of water vapor Weighted Mean Temperature Model (WMTM), the WMTM is a significant formulation in the retrieval of precipitable water vapor from zenith wet delay of GNSS signal. The purpose of this paper is to develop available the WMTM to apply for GNSS meteorology in the region of Algeria, by using the Algerian radiosonde network in the World Meteorological Organization (WMO). It can be concluded that the available GNSS precipitable water vapor which is retrieved by the developed Algerian Weighted Mean Temperature Equation (AWMTE) can be useful technique for sensing of water vapor in the Algeria, after Algerian Continuously Operating Reference System (CORS) will be constructed.
