      • Classification of Metro Station Areas Using Multi-Source Big Data: Case Studies in Beijing

        Large-capacity public transportation systems, represented by urban metro lines, are the key to alleviating the significant increase in urbanization and motorization in China. But to improve the agglomeration effect of metro stations in a more accurate and targeted way requires scientific evaluation and classification of the surrounding areas of metro stations. As spatial and functional design are the core factors for urban renewal design, this study took Beijing as an example, using multi-source data to evaluate the morphology and functional composition surrounding areas of metro stations, and the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) matrix was used to classify and characterize each type of surrounding areas from morphological-functional dimensions. It shows a negative correlation of the mix-use index with the floor area ratio, and only about 20% of the areas achieve the ideal situation of high construction intensity with high mix-use diversity. Hoping to provide a reference for city managers and designers in dealing with the surrounding metro stations with different construction intensities in a more precise way.

        LncRNA linc01194 promotes the progress of endometrial carcinoma by up-regulating SOX2 through binding to IGF2BP1

        Objective: Endometrial carcinoma (EC) is one of the most common gynecological malignanttumors. Our study showed that long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) linc01194 plays an importantrole in EC. We explored the mechanism of lncRNA linc01194 in EC. Methods: The expression of lncRNA linc01194 was detected in The Cancer Genome Atlasdatabase and starBase database. The potential targeted protein of linc01194 was predictedthrough the starBase database. To determine the role of linc01194 in EC, we downregulatedor upregulated the level of linc01194 in EC cell lines and analyzed the cell behaviors and thechanges of its potential target proteins. Results: The expression of linc01194 in EC tissues is higher than that in normal endometrialtissues. The knockdown of linc01194 inhibited the cell proliferation, invasion and migrationand promoted the apoptosis of EC cells, while overexpression of linc01194 promoted cellproliferation, invasion and migration and inhibited the apoptosis of EC cells. The starBasedatabase revealed that linc01194 could bind to insulin-like growth factor 2 binding protein 1(IGF2BP1). Previous results showed that in EC, IGF2BP1 could promote the expression of sex-determining region Y-box 2 (SOX2) by promoting the stability of SOX2 mRNA. Our resultsshowed that linc01194 regulate the expression of IGF2BP1 and SOX2. Conclusion: Linc01194 can promote the expression of downstream protein SOX2 throughbinding to IGF2BP1, thus promoting the occurrence and development of EC.

      • User Identification Design by Fusion of Face Recognition and Speaker Recognition

        Intelligent human-robot interface helps a mobile robot to extract external information and interact with a user. User identification information allows a robot to generate appropriate behaviors and make personalized human-robot interaction (PHRI) more natural and safe. Most of service robots move around in various application settings, and biometric features always change during relative movements. In this work, a fusion recognition system based on face and speaker classifiers is designed to achieve the user recognition in various environments. We propose a method to fuse face and speech recognition results based on the concept of confidence indices. Through the derived confidence indices, the system combines the two classifiers and gives improved recognition results. Experiments on a laboratory home service robot show that person recognition rates in 15 environmental situations all outperform those of using single modality.

        A new red-emitting phosphor of Eu3+-doped Sr2MgMoxW1−xO6 for solid state lighting

        The white light-emitting diode has recently attracted great attention as a promising candidate for next generation lighting. The solid solution of Sr1.80Eu0.10Li0.10MgMoxW1-xO6 was synthesized via hightemperature solid-state reaction and this solid solution is treated as a promising red emitting phosphor for white light-emitting diodes. In our cases, the X-ray diffraction, excitation spectra, emission spectra and decay curves of these solid solutions were measured as a function of the Mo/W ratio to characterize the structural and luminescent properties. The excitation bands of the series of phosphors are consistent well with the region of near ultraviolet light, and the phosphors present better color purity than the commercial phosphor Y2O2S:Eu3þ in current use. Taking these properties into consideration,this kind of material may find a great potential application as a red phosphor for near-ultraviolet excited white light-emitting diodes.

        Evaluation and Comparation of a Novel Surgical Technique and Hemivertebra Resection to the Correction of Congenital Cervical Scoliosis in Lower Cervical and Cervicothoracic Spine

        Objective: To report concave-side distraction technique to treat congenital cervical scoliosis in lower cervical and cervicothoracic spine. To evaluate and compare clinical and radiographic results of this procedure with classic hemivertebra resection procedure. Methods: This study reviewed 29 patients in last 13 years. These patients were divided into convex-side resection group (group R) and concave-side distraction group (group D). Radiographic assessment was based on parameter changes preoperatively, postoperatively and at last follow-up. Demographic data, surgical data and complications were also evaluated and compared between the 2 groups. Results: In group R, mean age was 8.9 ± 3.3 years and follow-up was 46 ± 18 months. Operation time and blood loss averaged 500 ± 100 minutes, 703 ± 367 mL. In group D, mean age was 9.9 ± 2.8 years and follow-up was 34 ± 14 months. Operation time and blood loss averaged 501 ± 112 minutes, 374 ± 181 mL. Structural Cobb angle was corrected from 29.4° ± 12.5° to 5.3° (2.1°–18.1°) (p = 0.001) and 33.7° ± 14.1° to 12.8° ± 11.4° (p < 0.001) in groups R and D. Compensatory Cobb angle had a spontaneous correction rate of 59.6% (40.0%–80.8%) and 59.7% ± 23.0% in groups R and D. Mandibular incline, clavicle angle and spine coronal balance were significantly improved at last follow-up in both groups. All correction rates were not statistically different between groups. However, group D had significant less blood loss (p < 0.001) and operation time (p = 0.004) per vertebra than group R. Seven patients developed C5 nerve root palsy and recovered by 6 months of follow-up. Conclusion: Both surgical procedures are safe and effective in correcting congenital cervical scoliosis. But concave-side distraction technique has less blood loss and time-consuming during surgery, which provides a better option for the treatment of congenital cervical scoliosis.

        An Ideal Two-dimensional Porous B4O2 as Anode Material for Enhancing Ion Storage Performance

        The utilization of two-dimensional porous materials as anodes in ion batteries has garnered signifi cant interest within thefi eld of clean energy because of their fl exible architecture, high conductivity, rapid diff usion process and high specifi c ioncapacity. Herein, we developed a new metal-free 2D porous compound, namely, B 4 O 2 . The stability of the B 4 O 2 monolayerwas verifi ed through the ab-initio molecular dynamics simulations and phonon spectrum calculations. The results demonstratethat the adsorption of K, Na, and Li atoms onto the B 4 O 2 monolayer surface is remarkably stable, with all three speciesexhibiting a shared diff usion path. Specifi cally, we found that the adsorption of K atoms on the B 4 O 2 monolayer surpassesthat of Na and Li atoms, and the diff usion of K atoms occurs at a faster rate than Na and Li atoms on the same monolayersurface. The maximum theoretical specifi c capacity of K + , Na + and Li + is calculated to be 626.1 mAh/g. In addition, the B 4 O 2monolayer retains good electronic conductivity and electron activity during the atomic adsorption processes. Based on ourfi ndings, the B 4 O 2 monolayer exhibits signifi cant potential as anode material for ion batteries. This study paves the way fora novel approach in designing new 2D porous materials specifi cally tailored for energy storage and conversion applications.

        Grey fuzzy PI control for packing pressure during injection molding process

        This study presents a grey fuzzy PI (GFPI) controller for packing pressure control during the injection process. The novel controller was designed for solving the problems of large overshoot, static error, and long delay time on servo motor-driven injection molding machines. Based on reasonable assumptions, a mathematical model of injection system was established. According to the nonlinear, severe interferences, and long delay time characteristics in injection process, this paper integrates predictive grey system, robust fuzzy ratiocination,and PI control. Using these mathematical model and control algorithms, a GFPI controller is implemented into an MCU using C programming techniques. The integral discrete PID controller and solid fuzzy controller were realized for contrast experiments. The experimental results show that GFPI controller had better performance on reducing overshoot and static error, increasing both response rate and repeatable accuracy. Such a developed technology would provide helpful references for designing the controller of energy-saving servo motor-driven injection molding equipment.

        OsHIPP24 is a Copper Metallochaperone Which Affects Rice Growth

        Copper (Cu) is a trace mineral nutrient essential for plant growth; consequently, its uptake, trafficking, and redistribution are precisely controlled. Currently, little is known about the underlying regulatory mechanisms in rice. In this work, we identified OsHIPP24 as a Cu metallochaperone in rice. Heterologous expression of OsHIPP24 in wild-type yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) strain BY4741 increased accumulation of Cu, as well as cadmium (Cd). OsHIPP24 was expressed constitutively in most tissues of rice, including root, stem, leaf, leaf sheath, internode, rachis, and spikelet, and particularly high in root stele along with the vascular bundle of the shoot. Overexpression or knockout of OsHIPP24 in rice led to stunted growth and reduced plant height, regardless of Cu levels in the growth medium. Taken together, these observations indicated that the physiological roles of OsHIPP24 involve the delivery of metal micronutrients via vascular tissues, and that OsHIPP24 plays a crucial role in the growth of rice.
