본 연구는 U형 복합보의 단부형태에 따른 구조성능을 비교하기 위한 것이다. U형 복합보는 강재의 재료물량 감소로 경제적이지만 철골기둥과의 접합에 대해서는 별도의 노력이 필요하다. 이에 본 연구에서는 U형 복합보 단부에 H형강을 접합시킨 실험체, H형강을 접합하지 않고 U형 복합보 만으로 된 실험체, 그리고 U형 복합보 단부에 H형강을 접합시킨 실험체에 데크스팬을 결합시킨 실험체를 제작하여 실험을 실시하였다. 실험결과, U형보 단부에 H형강을 접합한 실험체의 구조성능이 가장 우수하게 나타났으며, 실험체의 실험값과 이론값의 비율(M<sub>test</sub>/M<sub>theo.</sub>)은 각각 1.06배, 1.16배, 1.13배로 나타났다.

현존하는 정보처리 시스템 중에서 가장 뛰어난 성능을 지니고 있는 것은 인간의 두뇌라고 할 수 있다. 두뇌의 정보처리 메커니즘을 보다 정확하게 구현할 수 있는 시스템은 입력에 대한 정확한 인지 능력, 상황 판단 능력, 학습 및 추론 능력, 출력의 결정 능력 등의 성능 구현은 물론이며, 감정과 비교될 수 있는 시스템의 상태를 평가하여 판단 및 결정에 적용함으로써 매우 뛰어난 지능형 시스템이 될 수 있다. 이러한 뇌 정보처리 시스템의 구현에 앞서 본 논문에서는 생물학적인 대뇌 피질의 구조를 살피고 정보의 처리 영역을 고찰하고 정보의 흐름을 소개하였으며 이를 바탕으로 뇌 정보처리 메커니즘을 공학적인 측면에서 해석해 보았다. 특히, 뇌 영역의 기능 및 구조적인 특징, 정보의 처리과정 등을 공학적으로 해석하였으며 이는 뇌의 기능을 모방한 공학적인 모델을 구현하는데 있어서 기초가 될 것이다.

This study was conducted to investigate the effects of various mulching materials on growth and yield of okra (Abelmoschus esculentus L. Moench). Three kinds of polyethylene (PE) mulching materials were used which are: black (Black), green (Green), and white and black on both sides (White), black non-woven fabric (Fabric), and barley straw (Straw) and the control plot (Control) were also used in this study. The change of soil temperature was observed in various mulching materials with Green showing the highest average temperature of 24.4o, followed by Black > Fabric > Control > White > Straw. The variation of plant length,, aboveground weight, and root weight were constant in the order of Green > Black > White > Fabric > Control > Straw. Total yield (number of fruits) were 281,000 in Green which was the highest yield, and the least was from Straw which was 62.3% of Green. Total weight of fruits in Green was 395 kg which was the heaviest, and in Straw was least with 226 kg Hence, the weight of fruits

Reliability plays a pivotal role in the development of medical instruments. A hyperbaric oxygen chamber, as a medical/health device, is known to help medical therapy for diversity of diseases through provision of high purity oxygen. The use of hyperbaric oxygen chamber is expected to increase in the future and study to examine reliability and safety is needed. We have performed reliability assessment for a newly developed hyperbaric oxygen chamber in this study. We first briefly discussed the system structure and mechanism. We then performed FMEA (Failure Mode and Effect Analysis) for the chamber. We drew major failure modes affecting the system performance and performed in depth analysis for measuring the expected effects.

Treatment with removable partial denture is effective for partially edentulous patients who are unable to obtain sufficient retention and stability for functional and esthetic restoration. There are several cases reporting the improvement of retention and stability of the partial denture using a small number of implants. However, there are limited studies on the implant-assisted removable partial denture using a small number of remaining teeth and the bar locator system. The bar locator system has an advantage in that it could compensate the angle of insertion of removable prosthesis on implant with inconsistent placement angle due to anatomical constraints compared to when using the locator only. This case report describes the patient with Parkinson°Øs disease who was treated with the Locator bar system using two previously placed implants and two remaining teeth on maxilla. No additional implants could be placed because of the medical and economic condition of the patients, and the angle of one of two implants could not be matched with the direction of the removable partial denture insertion. Considering the angle of the implants, the patient was treated with implant-assisted RPD using the Locator bar system and had satisfactory results in the aspect of esthetics, masticatory function, and oral hygiene maintenance.

We have evaluated the thermal stability or LaMgAl(11)O(19):Eu(2+)(LAM:Eu(2+)) phosphor synthesized by a conventional solid-state reaction method for plasma display panel application. Variation in the concentration quenching process was observed depending upon the excitation source, i.e., 147 and 370 nm, and the critical transfer distance was calculated as 20.1 and 16.4Å, respectively. When both LAM:Eu(2+) and BaMgAl(10)O(19):Eu(2+)(BAM) were baked in air at 500℃ for 30 min, the relative decrease of photoluminescence (PL) intensity of LAM:Eu(2+) was much lower than that of BAM. Due to structure factor of LAM:Eu(2+) around Eu(2+) ions, Eu(2+) ions were protected from outer oxidizing atmosphere. Analysis of thermal stability revealed that the differences in thermal stability between LAM:Eu(2+) and BAM could be ascribed to crystal structure of LAM:Eu(2+), which shields for Eu(2+) ions from the oxidizing atmosphere.
베체트병의 심혈관 침범 환자의 재발에서 면역억제제의 효과

Objective: Despite the high risk for disease-related morbidity and mortality in Behcet`s disease (BD) with cardiovascular (CV) manifestations, only a few studies concerning BD with CV involvements are available. We conducted study to evaluate the clinical manifestations of CV BD (cardiovascular Behcet`s disease) and the clinical outcome according to the different treatment modalities, especially focusing on the immunosuppressive agents. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed 1,812 patients diagnosed with BD at tertiary hospital. All patients with vascular involvements were classified into three groups by lesion site. We assessed clinical characteristics, treatments, outcome and recurrence in each group. Results: Of 1,812 patients, 79 patients showed CV involvements. Male to female ratio was 65 (82.3%) to 14 (17.7%). Venous involvements occurred in 57 cases (72.2%), arterial lesions in 22 (27.8%), cardiac involvements 16 (20.3%). In clinical manifestation, only hypertension and arthritis were more frequently found in cardiac lesion than in venous lesion (p=0.01, p=0.01, respectively). CV lesions recurred in 16 patients (20.3%), mostly at the same sites as previous involvements. There was no association of recurrence with site of lesion (p=0.49). Recurrent rate was significant different in three medication group (p=0.028). Recurrences were more frequent in patients treated with no immunosuppressive agent and colchicines only or colchicines with prednisolone than in patients treated with additional immunosuppressive agent (p=0.024, R.R, 7.16 (95% CI, 1.55 to 32.99)). Conclusion: Recurrence rate was lower in patients with aggressive immunosuppressive treatment. Although most of patients improved, more efforts to decrease the relatively high rate of the recurrence (20.3%) would be needed.

최근 위성 시스템의 전력분배는 기존의 퓨즈와 릴레이로 구성된 것과는 달리 LCL(Latching Current Limiter) 회로로 구현되어, 각각의 부하전원을 단속한다. LCL은 부하에서 생기는 과전류를 제한함으로서 고장 의심이 있는 부하를 물리적으로 차단하는 기존 방법에 비하여 고장의 원인을 분석하고, 일시적인 고장인 경우 부하를 재사용할 수 있는 장점이 있다. 그러나 LCL 회로는 전자소자로 구현되는 만큼 주변회로(부하회로)와의 연동성과 회로자체의 특성을 이해해야 하며, 무엇보다 과전류를 차단하기 위하여 설정하는 LCL 동작 파라미터의 정의를 위한 기술적인 접근이 요구된다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 전력분배 모듈의 LCL 동작 파라미터를 정의하기 위한 분석을 수행했고, 회로구현 및 특성 시험결과를 나타냈다. In this paper, the characteristics of LCL set-up parameters for the satellite load distribution are analyzed under the electrical system environment, implemented the LCL circuits and evaluated the performance and its behaviour. Recently, it is implemented the load distribution circuit by latching current limiter(LCL) rather than conventional fuse and relay for the protection of the satellite power system from a fault load. The LCL circuit is composed of the electrical components, not mechanical parts with the fuse and relay. When detected the over current on a fault load, it is activated to maintain the trip-off level for set-up time and then cut-off the load power by the active control. It is more flexible and provided a chance to reuse of the load in case of temporarily event, but the fuse and relay can’t be used again after activating due to the physical disconnection. However, for implementation of LCL circuit, it should be carefully considered the behavior of the LCL circuit under the worst electrical system environment and applied it to define the set-up parameters related with over-current inhibition.
