        The Environmental Impact Assessment(EIA) has contributed to mitigating the negative effect of the adverse environmental impact of large-scale development projects. However, the reliability of the results of the EIA has been frequently controversial due to the insufficient investigation of the natural conditions for preparing Environmental Impact Statement(EIS). To restore EIA credibility, the Korean government has contrived the institutional establishment of the ‘EIA Depository System’. Various issues resulted from the insufficient environmental awareness of the project developers, and the boss-subordinate relationships between project developers and business agencies as subcontractor in EIS preparations was also studied. To reflect the appropriate expenses of EIS preparation subcontractors, and to compromise the conflicts of various stakeholders in EIA process,‘EIA Depository System’ can be applied to Korean EIA legislation system.

        The purpose of this study was to grasp the problem and suggest the answer in the landscape of Pulguksa Temple. The result of this study can be summarized as follows: 1. The oval Kupumryonji(ninth rank lotus pond) in Pulguksa temple is the lotus pond and shodow reflection pond. It was symbolized heavenly paradise and was reflected the shadows of Buddha, pagoda and mountain on its surfaces. It must be reconstruct for the identity of the landscape of Pulguksa Temple. 2. Although the stone platforms of Pulguksa temple were constructed with traditional construction method, particularly the one of west corridor in Kuekrakjon territory had many problems. It must be reconstruct with the traditional construction method. 3. It were 2 ponds differed with the traditional pond pattern in the entrance space from Iljumoon to main building. These must be reconstruct with the traditional pond pattern.

        0.412 MeV 감마선에 대한 원주형 NaI(Tl) 섬광체의 총 절대검출효율 계산

        Total absolute detection efficiencies of a 7.62 cm(dia.) and 7.62 cm(height) cylindrical NaI(Tl) crystal have been calculated for 0.412 MeV r -rays from a source(point, circular disk, square and line type). In this calculation the linear energy-absorption coefficients based on Hubbell's data have been considered and then calculated total absolute detection efficiencies compared with those from Grosjean and Bossaert. Besides, the source axis-to-detector axis shift distance which, could give rise to about 0.05% deviation in the total absolute detection efficiencies has been calculated for a line-type source of 0.5 cm in its length when a source-to-detector distance is 5 cm. It is revealed that the total absolute detection efficiencies obtained in this study are considerably different from those of Grosjean and Bossaert. In addition it is found that the deviation induced due to an imperfect center of a line type source may be within 0.05% if the shifted discrepancy is no larger than 1.74mm.

      • 衛生埋立地 粘土遮水膜에서 重金屬 分布 特性에 關한 硏究

        The purpose of this study is to analyse the concentration of heavy metals in leachate, effluent, stream and soil at Kimpo Metropolitan Landfill Site. The results are epitomized as follows; 1. Concentrations of heavy metals in leachate were, As 0.710ppm, Ni 0.377ppm, Cd 0.024ppm, Cr 0.937ppm, Cu 0.033, Pb 1.435 ppm and Zn 0.718ppm. 2. Concentrations of heavy metals in effluent were, As 0.530ppm, Ni 0.368pprn, Cd 0.0l8ppm, Cr 0.852ppm, Cu 0.039ppm, Pb 1.064ppm and Zn 0.838ppm. 3. Concentration ranges of heavy metals in the adjacent stream were, As 0.076~0.093ppm, Ni 0.0l8~0.059ppm, Cd N.D., Cr 0.038~0.096ppm, Cu N.D.~0.042, Pb 0.020~0.092ppm and Zn 0.093-0.230ppm. 4. Concentration ranges of heavy metals in soil were, As 1.329~1.609pprn, Ni 0.321~0.463 ppm, Cd 0.021~0.046ppm, Cr 0.503~0.954ppm, Cu 0.311~1.182ppm, Pb 1.729~2.945ppm and Zn 0.979~4.304ppm. 5. Concentrations of all analysed heavy metals except Cu and Zn in leachate were attenuated after passing through the leachate treatment facility. 6. Concentrations of all analysed heavy metals in soil decrease with soil depth.

        The Synchronous reluctance motor is a sinewave ac motor and it has cylindrical surfaces on both sides of teh air gap. The stator is conventional polyphase ac stator, while the rotor has internal flux barriers shaped to maximize the ratio of d-axis to g-axis reactance. This paper presents the finite element analysis and parameter measurement of the synchronous reluctance motor(SRM). The model motor is a 3-phase SRM with the segmental rotor and its rating is 0.175kw. The torque characteristic is analysed by finite element method and compared with that from measurement.

        이라크전과 새로운 군사안보패러다임

        Iraqi war, conducted by the U.S. as a part of counter-terrorism strategy, has demonstrated the rise of a new military security paradigm. With disapproval of the UN and strong antiwar demonstration worldwide, the U.S. started war against Iraq under a very difficult situation, However, the U.S. won a victory against Iraq with a dominantly superior military power in an unprecedentedly rapid offensive campaign for three weeks after successfully defeating intermittent resistances from the Iraqi Republican Guards. Throughout the Iraqi war, we witnessed several emerging military security paradigms as follows: 'Shock and Awe' that paralyze enemy in a rapid offensive air campaign with superior air and space power; Rapid Decisive Operations (RDO) that ground campaign carried out at almost same time with air campaign; Effect-Based Operations (EBO) that focussed on paralyzing the enemy's system rather than destroying all the enemy military power; Long range precision strikes with newly advanced precision guided munitions; and network-centric warfare with enhanced C4ISR capability. Iraqi war influenced Korea's security environment. First, the U.S. raised the possibility of partial reduction and redeployment of the U.S. forees in Korea as part of U.S. Foreign military policy Second, the U.S. also raised the possibility of military sanctions against North Korea's nuclear initiatives. And finally Korea should cope with the newly emerging international security order. In conclusion, ROK military should actively pursue revolution in military affairs (RMA) to actively cope with these shifts in war paradigm. The final goal of the RMA is to raise quality elite military forces and to equip them with advanced weapon s'ystems. In particular, quantitative reduction of the military can be a determining solution for all accumulated problems in the ROK military. It cannot be done in a day, rather it should be pursued gradually as a long-term plan. In audition, Korea should strengthen the U.S.-ROK alliance to cope with the newly emerging international security order and to enhance combined military operations capability with the U.S. forces, And ultimately, Korea should build up self-defense forces in order to defend the nation through Its own defense capability.

        Storage stability of UV curable unsaturated polyester was studied in accordance with synthesis process and inhilitor charging. When resin was synthesized at 160∼170℃, storage stability was mainly influencd by reaction time. THQ showed best storage stability among inhibitors. Appropriate charge of THQ was 150ppm in initial of first reaction, 350ppm in initial of second reaction and 350ppm in SM thinning.

        자가 Fibrin Glue와 연골세포를 이용한 연골조직 공학 기법에 관한 연구

        Neomorphogenesis of cartilage using chondrocyte-polymer constructs is a potential source for development of cartilage reconstruction. Current tissue engineering techniques of neocartilage rely on in vivo implantation of polymer-chondrocyte constructs. The purpose of this study was to find a way to bioengineer cartilage in vitro by entrapping chondrocytes in a molded autologous fibrin glue. Chondrocytes isolated from the cartilage of rabbit joints were combined with fibrinogen extracted by a single cryoprecipitation of autologous plasma, and they were then polymerized with thrombin to create a fibrin glue with a final cell density of 2.5x10?? cells/ml. The collagen for a control study was used as a polymer. The polymer-chondrocyte constructs were cultured for 4 weeks and the fibrin-chondrocyte constructs molded in the shape of a human ear were cultured for 6 weeks in vitro. Morphometric, histochemical, and histomorphometric analysis including glycosaminoglycan quantitation confirmed the following results: 1) Highly-concentrated autologous fibrinogen was easily extracted by a single cryoprecipition of autologous olasma. 2) The fibrin-chondrocyte constructs demonstrated the presence of actively proliferating chondrocytes with the production of cartilaginous matrix(collagen and glycosaminoglycan) at 1 week after culture, as well as gross and histologic evidence similar to those of normal cartilage at 3∼4 weeks after culture. 3) The collagen-chondrocyte constructs demonstrated lower degrees of hardness and transparency, as well as a lower density of cells and glycosaminoglycan during the culture period. 4) Neocartilage generated from fibrin-chondrocyte constructs in the shape of a human ear nearly retained their original configuration and size without degeneration for 6 weeks of culture in vitro. This study demonstrated a novel method for bioengineering the molded cartilage in vitro using autologous fibrin glue as a matrix scaffold. The generated cartilage showed gross and histologic evidence similar to those of normal cartilage, retaining the original gross dimension. With further refinement, this may be a new application of tissue engineering for the reconstruction of cartilage.

        LHR(Landfill Site Hazard Ranking Model)was developed for assessing the relative hazard of landfill sites by using the method of value-structured approach. LHR consists of combining a multiattribute decision-making method with a qualitative risk assessment approach. AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process)based on the pairwise comparison method was applied to determine weights of landfill site factors related. To determine the relative hazard of landfill sites evaluated, hydrogeological factors, waste characteristics factors and recptors factors were evaluated by LHR. LHR can help decision-makers prioritization of remediation of landfill sites through the relatively convenient and concise evaluation metl10d of landfill site features related. LHR focuses mainly on pathways of groundwater and surfacewater for evaluating landfill hazard to receptors including humans. To validiate the applicability of LHR, Nanjido Landfill site, Metropolitan Landfill site, and Hwasung Landfill site were evalulated. LHR scores of the above-mentioned landfills were 55, 19, and 7 respectively.
