This study seeks to examine the relationship between business resources (through VRIN: Valuable - valuable, Rare - scarce; Inimitable - difficult to adapt, Irreplaceable - hard to replace), dynamic capability, external cooperation, and efficiency of startups operating in the seafood export sector. Research data was collected randomly and conveniently from 250 enterprises in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province, Vietnam, from October 2020 to December 2020. After excluding those ineligible, the remaining 204 enterprises meet the research conditions. With the support of SPSS-AMOS 22 dedicated software, using the 5-step Likert scale and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), the study conducted analysis steps such as verifying convergence, discriminant value, unidirectional and scale reliability when giving the components correlated freely in the critical model by Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) analysis. Results of the study have shown that the enterprise resource factor - VRIN has a positive impact on dynamic capability, and outside cooperation. However, in contrast to previous studies, we found that the relationship between enterprise resources - VRIN and performance as well as the relationship between dynamics capacity and performance is not clear. This shows that seafood exporters need to promote, exploit and effectively use this precious resource to improve business efficiency.
The Effectiveness of Financial Sources for Climate Change in Vietnam

This research aims to give information about the current situation of five financial sources for climate change in Vietnam, including (i) the State budget used by ministries; (ii) the State budget used by provinces; (iii) Bilateral funds; (iv) Multilateral funds; and (v) Private funds, and then classify them in line with the effectiveness. The working paper’s secondary data on spending on CC-related activities, collected from reports of six ministries and 29 provinces, show that the State budget has been crucial in subsidizing CC-related activities in Vietnam. Moreover, domestic investment has accounted for a major part of the total expenditure of ministries and provinces for climate change. In addition, by using primary data collected from surveys sent to twelve experts from 5 groups, such as researchers, practical experts, managers of private funding organizations (such as banks and enterprises), managers of international funding organizations and beneficiaries, and then analyzing the data through the AHP method, the study shows that all climate finance sources in Vietnam are still not very effective. However, private sector funds are considered the most effective financial source for responding to climate change.

Investment for battery energy storage systems (BESS) is rapidly growing. However, cost is still a major barrier. Since a retired battery pack from an electric vehicle can be re-utilized for BESS, second-life battery energy storage systems (SLBESS) have become a promising option. However, SL-BESS applications require more intensive care in terms of battery maintenance due to the increase in the characteristic differences of aged cells. Therefore, the SOC adjustment process is essential both for maintenance and shipping. This study proposed a coordinated operation algorithm for the calibration process with an optimal processing time. In addition, the effects of pack and cell currents on adjustment speed have been investigated. Experimental results verify the performance of the calibrator by a sequence of test scenarios. The battery cells are equalized and adjusted to the target SOC level within a 14 mV error, while the processing time is reduced by 20% when compared to the traditional method.
Shift of Vietnamese Consumer E-purchasing Behavior During and After Covid-19 Pandemic

Purposes: The study aimed at examining the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the shift of online consumer purchasing behavior and whether the new behaviors would be maintained after the epidemic season. The study also aims to investigate how online customers change based on perceived risks. Research design and Methodology: The study investigated purchasing behavior of the same 377 online Vietnamese consumers during two periods: (1) during the period of social distancing and (2) one and half year after that, allowing data to be collected in real time, so that consumers do not have to recall their behavior. Results: Purchasing behavior appeared to be more influenced by gender, age and household size. Aged consumers are more concerned about risks than those in the younger group, who only worry about the risks during the pandemic. Consumers in households with two or more people are more concerned about the risks than those living alone. Female appeared to be more influential in both during and after pandemic than male. Conclusions: The findings contribute to clarify shift of online consumer purchasing behavior, which helps business to develop effective marketing strategies and enhance their presence in the e-commerce sector.
Innovation Capacity of Student: A Case Study in Vietnam

This study aimed to explore the factors affecting the innovation capacity of students at the National Economics University, Vietnam. Researchers used the innovation capacity model based on six factors, including personality traits, future orientation, creative skills, social interaction, content knowledge, and management skills. The empirical analysis used data from the survey of 303 students at National Economics University, Vietnam, with reliable tools (SPSS 26.0 software). The data were analyzed by testing the reliability of the scales, correlation analysis, and Pearson’ Linear Correlation Coefficient, exploratory factor analysis, as well as regression model based on the survey data. The research results identified the following factors affecting innovation capacity of students: management skills, social interaction, and personality traits have the strongest impact on innovation capacity of students; content knowledge has the following strongest effects on innovation capacity of students; and finally the creative skills that affects on innovation capacity of students. There is also a positive relationship between all the factors and innovation capacity of students. The result can serve as useful reference sources for scholars who are interested in the innovation field. It also helps university’s managers and policymakers build the appropriate environment to improve innovation capacity of students.
Enzyme-mediated fabrication of an oxidized chitosan hydrogel as a tissue sealant

<P>Oxidized polysaccharide-based hydrogels have recently attracted much attention for tissue regeneration because of their biocompatibility and tissue-adhesive property. In this study, we introduce a new type of chitosan-based hydrogel as a tissue sealant, which was prepared by enzymatic mediation from periodate-oxidized chitosan–polyethylene glycol–tyramine. The oxidized chitosan backbone was expected to enhance the interconnection between the hydrogel layer and collagen in the tissues via the Schiff-base reaction. Proton nuclear magnetic resonance spectra indicated that tyramine-functionalized polyethylene glycol-nitrophenyl carbonate ester was conjugated to the oxidized chitosan. The degree of oxidation of the chitosan backbone was around 14% of the glucosamine units by proton nuclear magnetic resonance. The hydrogel was rapidly formed in situ (within a few seconds) in the presence of horseradish peroxidase and hydrogen peroxide. In vitro experiments with live/dead cell assays showed that the oxidized chitosan-based hydrogel was cytobiocompatible. The hydrogel exhibited high tissue adhesion strength on porcine skin models as well as good tissue-adhesive ability and wound healing properties on rabbit skin. These positive results could be promising for the application of oxidized chitosan-based hydrogels as a wound sealant.</P>

Purpose: Many concerns have appeared in banking sector in the digital era and one of them is that technology development will increase operation costs of banks. Motivated by this issue, our study aims to explore the effect of technological and digital investments on costeffectiveness of banking operation. Research design, data and methodology: To reach a clear answer, we use the data of 12 commercial banks spanning from 2011 to 2020 in Vietnam and employ multivariate regression analysis as well as perform various robustness tests. Results: Our regression result indicates that the adverse effect of technological spending on cost-effective operation. This finding still remains unchanged when we conduct different robust tests. Also, we find that this negative impact becomes more evident in large banks than in small ones. Conclusions: The paper provides one of the most important empirical results for mangers and policy-makers in banking sphere, especially in Vietnam where regulators have been calling for continuously investing into technological innovation in banks. The evidence confirms that banks should carefully consider an increase in spending on distribution information and communication technologies when constructing business strategies related to expanding digitalization. Our research is also useful for countries having similar financial structure to Vietnam.

The present paper introduces a facile and cost-effective route for the direct dispersion of multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) in DNA solution. Their application in detecting Escherichia coli O157:H7using DNA biosensorwas demonstrated. The dispersion state of theMWCNTswas characterized via UVeVis spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and field emission scanning electron microscopy. The interaction between DNA sequence and the MWCNTs was investigated using Raman spectroscopy and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. As-obtainedMWCNT solutionwas used in the preparation of DNA sensor. Results revealed that the developed DNA sensor can detect a DNA target as low as 1 nM in a buffer solution. The sensitivity of the DNA sensor reached approximately 0.19 nM/mV. The effect of dispersion parameters, including pH values, DNA concentration, ion strength, and sonication time, on sensor response was also studied. TheDNA sensor can respondwell to 120 min of sonication time, a pH value of 9, and 20 mM of DNA sequence concentration. The results of the present study showed a potential application of the DNA sensor in the detection of Escherichia coli O157:H7.
