Cost-effective single board PDP sustaining driver with dual resonant method

A new plasma display panel sustaining driver using single side sustaining technique with the dual resonant method is proposed. Since this circuit enables to reduce switches in energy recovery circuit with keeping voltage stress like that of prior circuit, it can be low cost circuit comparing with a conventional driver. To integrate sustain function into one side with single power source in the driver, a charge pump method is adopted to make negative sustaining voltage and achieve dual resonant energy recovery on sustaining modes.
Safety and Efficacy of Single-Port Laparoscopic Ileostomy in Palliative Settings

Purpose: Single-port laparoscopic techniques can be optimized with confined incisions. This approach has an intraoperative advantage of excellent visualization of the correct intestinal segment for exteriorization, along with direct visual control of the extraction to avoid twisting. However, only a few studies have verified the efficacy of the technique. Thus, this study assessed the results of single-port laparoscopic stoma creation for fecal diversion, specifically focusing on feasibility, safety, and efficacy. Methods: Patients who underwent single-incision enterostomy performed by a single surgeon were included. Data on demographics, indications for and chosen procedure, and operation results were retrospectively collected and analyzed. Results: Between April 2015 and January 2018, a total of 13 patients (8 males, 5 females) with a mean age of 57.7 years (range, 41–83 years) underwent single-port ileostomy creation. The most common reason for diversion was palliative ileostomy for colon obstruction or fistula from peritoneal malignancy (n = 12), followed by colonic fistula with necrotizing pancreatitis (n = 1). There were no cases of conversion to open or multiport laparoscopic surgery. The mean operative time was 54 minutes (range, 37–118 minutes), and the median length of hospital stay was 8 days (range, 2–211 days). A postoperative complication, aspiration pneumonia, was documented in 1 patient and treated conservatively. The mean duration of bowel movement was 0.7 days (range, 0–4 days). All stomas had good function, and there was no 30-day mortality. Conclusion: Single-port laparoscopic ileostomy in patients with a palliative setting could be a safe and feasible option for fecal diversion.

This paper discloses Model-based design (MBD) and auto code generation for power electronics applications to show work flow, computation comparison, and test results. The tool can support design, simulation and code generation, so anticipation of the verification and validation stage and implementation of the processor are much convenient in the MBD work flow. Vienna rectifier design is chosen for the design example. The experimental test shows different switching frequency and abnormal grid condition tests using the generated code.
A Capacitor Current Control for Stand-alone Inverters Using an Inductor Current Observer

This paper discussed an inductor current observer design that employs a capacitor current control model for single-phase stand-alone inverters. The singlephase stand-alone inverter is analyzed via modeling. The proposed solution is able to guarantee a fast dynamic response and also a precise compensation of a distortion load. Moreover, with a proper design of observer parameters, it is possible to build a precise inductor current information without the inductor current sensor. The simulation and experimental results show that the performance of the proposed controller.

Sebaceous carcinoma is a malignant neoplasm frequently classified as periocular or extraocular. Extraocular sebaceous carcinoma is a relatively rare tumor commonly appearing in the head and neck region. Furthermore, extraocular sebaceous carcinoma limited to the epithelium, which is called ‘extraocular sebaceous carcinoma in situ’ is extremely rare with less than 10 cases reported in the literature. Herein, we present the case of a 93-year-old female who diagnosed as extraocular sebaceous carcinoma in situ occurring concurrently with actinic keratosis. In the present case, extraocular sebaceous carcinoma in situ as identified without any connection to an adnexal component but concurrent with actinic keratosis. This case is evidence that extraocular sebaceous carcinoma can arise from the epidermis and the tumor cells of intraepidermal squamous neoplasia can differentiate toward malignant sebocytes. In this paper, a single current sensor technique (SCST) is proposed for single-phase full-bridge inverters. The proposed SCST measures the currents of multiple branches at the same time, and reconstructs the average inductor, capacitor, and load current in a single switching cycle. Since all of the branches’ current in the LC filter and the load are obtained using the SCST, both the inductor and the capacitor current feedback schemes can be selectively applied while taking advantages of each other. This paper also analyzes both of the current feedback schemes from the view point of the closed-loop output impedance. The proposed SCST and the analysis in this paper are verified through experiments on a 3kVA single-phase uninterruptible power supply (UPS).
Benefit Analysis of CNG as an Automobile Fuel

전 세계적으로 급성장하고 있는 자동차연료로 압축천연가스(CNG)의 사용이 일반화되고 있다. 1996년도에 100만 대이던 CNG자동차가 2006년도에는 5배가 증가하였으며, 지금도 계속 증가하고 있는 추세이다. CNG연료는 가솔린 및 디젤연료에 비하여 효율적이고 완전연소에 가까워 청정연료로서 적합하다. 또한 배출 가스로서 일산화탄소, 탄화수소 및 질소산화물 등이 다른 연료에 비하여 유리하며, 경제적인 변에서도 투자가치가 있다. 본 연구에서는 천연가스자동차의 환경적인 특성과 효율적이고 경제적인 면에서 고찰하고자 한다. The adoption of compressed natural gas (CNG) as a vehicle fuel is a common phenomenon as it is accelerating worldwide. Increasing number of CNG driven vehicles around the world has jumped up from one million in 1996 to five million in 2006. CNG as a vehicle fuel is very popular to the end users because of its clean-burning properties and cost effective solution compared to other alternative fuels like diesel and gasoline. The use of CNG as a fuel reduces vehicular emission that is consisted of carbon monoxide (CO), hydrocarbons (HC), oxides of nitrogen (NO,), carbon dioxide (CO₂) etc. This research highlights the characteristics of CNG vehicles, CNG arrangement in the vehicles, CNG fueling procedures and most importantly the environmental and economic factors that are highly considered as cost effective solution for the flexibility of using CNG in the automobiles.
