Numerical Analysis of Flapping Wing
Hiroaki Matsutani,Etsuo Morishita,Hisao Koyama,Takeo Okunuki 한국항공우주학회 2008 한국항공우주학회 학술발표회 논문집 Vol.- No.-
Micro Air Vehicles (MAVs) are very small and fly at low speeds. Therefore, their wings are flat plates or membranes because the Reynolds number is very low. For MAVs, a flapping wing is proposed to generate lift and thrust simultaneously like birds and insects. In this study, the Immersed Boundary Method with the original ideas is used to analyze the airflow around stationary, heaving and feathering flat-plate numerically. The advantages of this method are easiness of the grid generation and less amount of calculation. The grid is not body-fitted but rectilinear. And the plate is expressed by the external force. The computational results are compared with the analytical solutions and the experimental photo. In the stationary plate, the drag coefficient and the velocity distribution agree with the Blasius solution. In the heaving plate, the lift and moment coefficients are close to the analytical solution with the Theodorsen function. And the pressure contours and the streamlines show the plate exists in the grid. In the feathering plate, the vorticity distribution and the experimental result show the similar trend.
Optimal control of PMSMs using model predictive control with integrator
Shintaro Matsutani,Tadanao Zanma,Yuji Sumiyoshi,Muneaki Ishida,Akihiro Imura,Masami Fujitsuna 제어로봇시스템학회 2009 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2009 No.8
Permanent magnet synchronous motors(PMSM) have been receiving much attention due to their high effi-ciency. Usually, an inverter is used to drive the PMSM. In conventional current control systems, the inverter is regarded as an ideal amplifier. However, there exist various constraints such as voltage saturation in current transient response and output nonlinearity in over modulation. Inaddition, an output of the inverter is limited to discrete values in aprecise sense. Thus, the system has an a ture of a hybrid dynamical system. In this paper, we propose a novel model predictive control(MPC) based current control system to improve performance in cases where the inverter can not provide the appropriate output. In MPC, a steady state error often occurs due to the modeling error. In order to over come the problem, we extend the model in which the accumulation of the steady state error is included. The effectiveness of the proposed method is shown through simulations and experiments.

We report an extremely rare case of primary squamous cell carcinoma of the stomach. A 69-year-old man was admitted to our hospital with a 2-month history of dysphagia and tarry stools. Endoscopic examination revealed a cauliflower-shaped protruding mass along the lesser curvature of the gastric cardia. Biopsy of the lesion revealed squamous cell carcinoma of the stomach. Computed tomography revealed a thickened stomach wall and a mass protruding into the gastric lumen. Total gastrectomy with splenectomy, distal pancreatectomy, and Roux-en-Y reconstruction was performed, together with a lower thoracic esophagectomy via a left thoracotomy. Histopathological examination of the specimen revealed well-differentiated squamous cell carcinoma of the stomach. Postoperative follow-up was uneventful for the first 18 months. However, multiple liver metastases and para-aortic lymph node metastasis developed subsequently. Despite systemic combination chemotherapy, the patient died because of progression of the recurrent tumors. Here, we review the characteristics of 56 cases of gastric squamous cell carcinoma reported in Japan.
Probing the Charge-Transfer Dynamics in DNA at the Single-Molecule Level
Kawai, Kiyohiko,Matsutani, Eri,Maruyama, Atsushi,Majima, Tetsuro American Chemical Society 2011 JOURNAL OF THE AMERICAN CHEMICAL SOCIETY - Vol.133 No.39

Photoinduced charge-transfer fluorescence quenching of a fluorescent dye produces the nonemissive charge-separated state, and subsequent charge recombination makes the reaction reversible. While the information available from the photoinduced charge-transfer process provides the basis for monitoring the microenvironment around the fluorescent dyes and such monitoring is particularly important in live-cell imaging and DNA diagnosis, the information obtainable from the charge recombination process is usually overlooked. When looking at fluorescence emitted from each single fluorescent dye, photoinduced charge-transfer, charge-migration, and charge recombination cause a “blinking” of the fluorescence, in which the charge-recombination rate or the lifetime of the charge-separated state (τ) is supposed to be reflected in the duration of the off time during the single-molecule-level fluorescence measurement. Herein, based on our recently developed method for the direct observation of charge migration in DNA, we utilized DNA as a platform for spectroscopic investigations of charge-recombination dynamics for several fluorescent dyes: TAMRA, ATTO 655, and Alexa 532, which are used in single-molecule fluorescence measurements. Charge recombination dynamics were observed by transient absorption measurements, demonstrating that these fluorescent dyes can be used to monitor the charge-separation and charge-recombination events. Fluorescence correlation spectroscopy (FCS) of ATTO 655 modified DNA allowed the successful measurement of the charge-recombination dynamics in DNA at the single-molecule level. Utilizing the injected charge just like a pulse of sound, such as a “ping” in active sonar systems, information about the DNA sequence surrounding the fluorescent dye was read out by measuring the time it takes for the charge to return.

Graphic Abstract

ACS Electronic Supporting Info

9L 쥐 뇌종양에 있어서 체내 BrdU 표식지표와 체외 BrdU 표식지표의 비교
어환,長島正,松谷雅生,高倉公朋 대한신경외과학회 1992 Journal of Korean neurosurgical society Vol.21 No.12
The study of in vivo bromodeoxyuridine labeling index(BrdU LI) has become an established method alongside conventional histopathologic study for more complete and reliable evaluation of the biological behavior of tumors. However, in vivo BrdU LI study was limited because of requiring patient selection and patient consent In order to compare in vitro BrdU LI with in vivo one, the authors used 15 rats whose brains were stereotactically implanted with 9L glioma cell suspension, and incorporated BrdU into tumors in vivo or in vitro. In vivo BrdU LI was 18.3± 2.1 % ; in vitro LI of tumors incorporated BrdU within 30 minutes after tumor removal was 11.8± 2.6% ; in vitro LI of tumors incorporated 2 hours after removal was 9.7± 0.8% ; in vitro LI of tumors incorporated 4 hours after removal was 6.5± 3.0%. In vitro LIs were significantly lower than in vivo LI(p<0.05), and in vitro LI decreased gradually as the time of BrdU labeling passed But there were not statistically significant among in vitro LIs. In conclusion, it is essential to incorporate BrdU into tumor cells as soon as possible after tumor removal for in vitro BrdU LI. and in vitro LI is considered to take the place of in vivo LI for the evaluation of proliferating activity of tumor cells.

A 3-month alcoholism rehabilitation program at psychiatric hospitals is common in Japan for patients with alcohol use disorder (AUD). However, many AUD patients are often hospitalized for the treatment of digestive disorders due to alcohol-related liver diseases and pancreatitis. In this sense, AUD patients need to be better supported by professionals and departments in general hospitals. Here we analyzed the problems in alcohol-related medical care in Japan and examined the measures to be taken at general hospitals.
