H∞ Exponential Synchronization of Switched Cellular Neural Networks Based on Disturbance Observer-based Control

        Linlin Hou,Pengfei Ma,Xuan Ma,Haibin Sun 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2024 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.22 No.4

The problem of H∞ exponential synchronization for switched cellular neural networks that are subjected to multiple exogenous disturbances is investigated. The exogenous disturbances are rejected and attenuated by combining disturbance observer-based control with H∞ control. Based on the admissible edge-dependent average dwell time scheme and the Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional technique, a synchronization criterion formulated by linear matrix inequalities is procured for switched cellular neural networks with external disturbances. Finally, the effectiveness of the obtained results is verified through a numerical simulation.

Ion Exchange Synthesis of Bi2MoO6/BiOI Heterojunctions for Photocatalytic Degradation and Photoelectrochemical Water Splitting

        Linlin Fan,Bo Wei,Lingling Xu,Yang Liu,Wanlu Cao,Ning Ma,Hong Gao 성균관대학교(자연과학캠퍼스) 성균나노과학기술원 2016 NANO Vol.11 No.8

In this study, flower-like Bi2MoO6/BiOI heterostructure photocatalysts were synthesized via an anion exchange method using BiOI as precursor. The composition of Bi2MoO6/BiOI can be easily controlled by adjusting the MoO2- 4 /I- molar ratio. Photocatalytic activity studies based on the degradation of Rhodamine B (RhB) show that Bi2MoO6/BiOI = 50% photocatalyst exhibited the best performance under visible light excitation. The radical scavengers test demonstrated that holes was the main reactive species for the degradation of RhB, and O2- also took part in the photodecomposition process. Photoelectrochemical measurement reveals that the Bi2MoO6/ BiOI = 50% exhibit enhanced carrier densities, charge separation and photocurrent compared with the original Bi2MoO6 and BiOI. Our results show that bismuth-based heterojunctions fabricated through the anion exchange method could be a cost-effective approach to improve the photocatalytic activity and photoelectrochemical performance of BiOI.

      • Approximate Bisimulations for Constrained Discrete-Time Linear Systems

        Guoqi Ma,Linlin Qin,Xinghua Liu,Chun Shi,Gang Wu 제어로봇시스템학회 2015 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2015 No.10

In this paper, we consider the problem of approximate bisimulations for constrained discrete-time linear systems. First, we develop a theory of approximation for transition systems with nondeterministic evolution. Then observation metrics are used to describe the bounded distance between system observations. Furthermore, we utilize a class of Lyapunov-like functions, called bisimulation functions, to characterize the approximate bisimulation relations. For the class of discrete-time linear systems with constrained inputs, we convert the problem of computing bisimulation functions to linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) and optimization problems. Finally, a numerical example is performed to verify the effectiveness of the approximation bisimulation framework design technique, and using multi-parametric toolbox (MPT), we also demonstrate the application to safety verification.

      • Short-Term Prediction of Disturbance Inputs of the Greenhouse System

        Guoqi Ma,Linlin Qin,Xinghua Liu,Chun Shi,Gang Wu 제어로봇시스템학회 2015 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2015 No.10

Greenhouse microclimate control system is a typical hybrid system, in which the discrete (or logical) variables and continuous variables interact. The existence of outside measurable but uncontrollable disturbance inputs including outside temperature, humidity, wind speed, solar radiation, and et al, makes the control problem of greenhouse microclimate a challenging one and some conventional control methods not applicable, which motivates us to investigate the prediction problem of disturbance inputs of greenhouse control system. First, grey prediction model GM (1, 1) and time series model ARIMA (p, d, q) are adopted to predict the outside humidity over the next four hours, respectively. Then, considering the nonstationary property of the humidity sequence, wavelet analysis theory is applied to decompose the humidity sequence into different scales in order to reduce the randomness of the original sequence. Furthermore, the low frequency signal and high frequency one are predicted by GM (1, 1) and time series model ARIMA (p, d, q), respectively. Finally, simulation studies are carried out to compare the three prediction methods.

Mechanistic Insight into Phenolic Compounds Toxicity and State-of-the-art Strategies for Enhancing the Tolerance of Escherichia coli to Phenolic Compounds

        Lina Liu,Xiaolong Ma,Muhammad Bilal,Linlin Wei,Shijie Tang,Hong-zhen Luo,Yuping Zhao,Xuguo Duan 한국생물공학회 2022 Biotechnology and Bioprocess Engineering Vol.27 No.4

Efficient use of lignocellulosic biomass is a prerequisite for sustainable biofuel production while simultaneously contributing to environmental protection. However, phenolic compounds produced during the chemical treatment of lignocellulose inhibit the growth and metabolism of microorganisms, such as Escherichia coli, which is one of the ideal strains for producing target products by microbial fermentation. To provide new ideas for studying microbial tolerance to environmental stress and providing technical support for constructing the engineering strains with high yields of phenolic compounds, this review elucidates the inhibition mechanism of phenols to E. coli. Secondly, a comprehensive and systematic review of current approaches for improving the phenolic-tolerance of E. coli is provided, including strain domestication, random mutagenesis, regulating the expression of outer membrane proteins, changing the composition of membrane fatty acids, accelerating the efflux of phenolic compounds, engineered bacterial biofloc formation, and transcriptome analysis. Finally, this review ends with some questions that still exist today, and prospective strategies are outlined for further improving the phenols-tolerance of E. coli. This review provided a theoretical basis for research into microbial tolerance to environmental stress and the development of engineered strains with high yield of phenolic compounds.

Developmental Effects of Dietary Nucleotides in Second-Generation Weaned Rats

        Meihong Xu,Yi Ma,Linlin Xu,Yajun Xu,Yong Li 한국식품영양과학회 2013 Journal of medicinal food Vol.16 No.12

The aim of the present study was to evaluate dietary effects of dietary nucleotides (NTs) on developmental parameters in second-generation Sprague-Dawley rats. Experimental design was set up as six groups, including one control and five nucleotide administered groups, doses ranged from 0.01% to 1.28% nucleotides. First-generation (F0) rats were divided into two terms: (1) fed for 90-day study; (2) mated for offspring (F1). After weaning, each group of second-generation F1 rats was fed the control diet. Evaluating parameters were weight gain and food utilization ratios of rats, hematological and biochemical parameters, and organ pathology. The results showed that there was a greater weight gain and food utilization ratio in weaned rats (F0 and F1). Furthermore, weight gain and food utilization ratios were increased in the first 2 weeks of F1 male and the first week of F1 female rats. There were no significant changes in blood indicators of NT groups with the exception of decrease in aspartate aminotransferase and serum uric acid levels. Overall, it was demonstrated that NT supplements could promote the early growth and development at a 0.01% dose. Although NTs may have cumulative reproductive effects, they were safe even at a high-dose supplementation. Additionally, NT supplementation could promote restoration and optimize liver function.

Seismic Performance of Steel Joints Between Double Beams and Column in Chinese Traditional Style Buildings

        Jian-yang Xue,Linlin Ma,Zhanjing Wu 한국강구조학회 2018 International Journal of Steel Structures Vol.18 No.2

This paper presents experimental study and fi nite-element analysis (FEA) on seismic performance of steel joints between double beams and column (DBC) in Chinese traditional style buildings. Eight 1/2-scaled DBC joints were designed according to the principle of “strong-member and weak-joint” and tested under low cyclic reversed loading. The failure modes, hysteresis loops, skeleton curves, ductility and energy-dissipation capacity of the joints were analyzed. It is shown that the failure modes of the joints were shear buckling at lower panel zone, bending failure at middle panel zone, and welds fracturing at the panel zone of the joints. The section types of beams, axial compression ratio, and joint forms between double beams and column had signifi cant impacts on the bearing capacity of the joints. The bearing capacity of the joints decreased as the axial compression ratio increased. Moreover, the bearing capacity of the joints with box beams was larger than that of the joints with H-section beams. Elaborate FEA models of the joints were presented, and a preliminary FEA was fi rst performed to predict the mechanical properties and hysteretic behaviors of the joints. The results of FEA were correlated well with those of test, and the eff ect of the panel zone thickness on mechanical behaviors of the joints was analyzed, which indicated that the simplifi ed FEA model could provide a powerful tool for future research in design methods of DBC joints in Chinese traditional style buildings.

Experiment and bearing capacity analyses of dual-lintel column joints in Chinese traditional style buildings

        Jian-yang Xue,Linlin Ma,Zhanjing Wu,Lei Zhai,Xin Zhang 국제구조공학회 2018 Steel and Composite Structures, An International J Vol.28 No.5

This paper presents experiment and bearing capacity analyses of steel dual-lintel column (SDC) joints in Chinese traditional style buildings. Two SDC interior joints and two SDC exterior joints, which consisted of dual box-section lintels, circular column and square column, were designed and tested under low cyclic loading. The force transferring mechanisms at the panel zone of SDC joints were proposed. And also, the load-strain curves at the panel zone, failure modes, hysteretic loops and skeleton curves of the joints were analyzed. It is shown that the typical failure modes of the joints are shear buckling at bottom panel zone, bending failure at middle panel zone, welds fracturing at the panel zone, and tension failure of base metal in the heat-affected zone of the joints. The ultimate bearing capacity of SDC joints appears to decrease with the increment of axial compression ratio. However, the bearing capacities of exterior joints are lower than those of interior joints at the same axial compression ratio. In order to predict the formulas of the bending capacity at the middle panel zone and the shear capacity at the bottom panel zone, the calculation model and the stress state of the element at the panel zone of SDC joints were studied. As the calculated values showed good agreements with the test results, the proposed formulas can be reliably applied to the analysis and design of SDC joints in Chinese traditional style buildings.

      • Numerical analysis of the seismic performance of RHC-PVCT short columns

        Xue, Jianyang,Zhao, Xiangbi,Ke, Xiaojun,Zhang, Fengliang,Ma, Linlin Techno-Press 2019 Advances in concrete construction Vol.8 No.4

This paper presents the results of cyclic loading tests on new high-strength concrete (HC) short columns. The seismic performance and deformation capacity of three reinforced high-strength concrete filled Polyvinyl Chloride tube (RHC-PVCT) short columns and one reinforced high-strength concrete (RHC), under pseudo-static tests (PSTs) with vertical axial force was evaluated. The main design parameters of the columns in the tests were the axial compression ratio, confinement type, concrete strength, height-diameter ratio of PVCT. The failure modes, hysteretic curves, skeleton curves of short columns were presented and analyzed. Placing PVCT in the RHC column could be remarkably improved the ultimate strength and energy dissipation of columns. However, no fiber element models have been formulated for computing the seismic responses of RHC-PVCT columns with PVT tubes filled with high-strength concrete. Nonlinear finite element method (FEM) was conducted to predict seismic behaviors. Finite element models were verified through a comparison of FEM results with experimental results. A parametric study was then performed using validated FEM models to investigate the effect of several parameters on the mechanical properties of RHC-PVCT short columns. The parameters study indicated that the concrete strength and the ratio of diameter to height affected the seismic performance of RHC-PVCT short column significantly.
