        The purpose of the present study is to analyse the content of astronomy in the earth science taught in high school, and to systematize it according to the sequence of basic physical concepts in order to raise the clear understanding of astronomical phenomena as a whole rather than in parts. The astronomical content was developed on the basis of observations as follows. 1) In the unit of the solar system, the celestial mechanics, solar physics and the origin of the solar system were dealt with using observational quantities, i.e., distance, velocity, mass, size, and periodic motion, etc. 2) In the unit of the stellar system, the physical evolution, dynamical motion, the Galaxy and the Galactic force field were dealt with using observational quantities,i.e., spectrum, distance, brightness, proper motion, mass, size,etc. 3) In the unit of galaxies and the universe, the formation and evolution of galaxies, the expansion of the universe and the origin of the universe were dealt with using observational quantities, i.e., spectrum, space motion, distribution of hydrogen gas, mass, size, luminosity, rotational velocity of galaxies, etc.

        In the celestial coordinate system, in order to choose a reference plane and a reference point on it, we have to investigate astronomical phenomena on the celestial sphere which are commonly observed by all observers on the earth; that is, common movements of stars or planets and their geometrical relations with the celestial sphere. These observations are necessary to understand the importance of celestial coordinate system and its applications. In most of textbooks the determination of the celestial coordinate system is too simply treated like a coordinate system using in mathematics books. This paper is attempted to give one method how the celestial coordinate system is taught especially to high school students.

      • 잔차신호를 이용한 개별 피치추출 방법에 관한 연구

        In order to realize a speech coding at low bit rates, a pitch information is useful parameter. In case of extracting an average pitch information from continuous speech, the several pitch errors appear in a frame which consonant and vowel are coexistent; in the boundary between adjoining frames and beginning or ending of a sentence. In this paper, I propose an Individual Pitch (IP) extraction method using residual signals of the STREAK digital filter in order to restrict the pitch extraction errors. This method is based on not averaging pitch intervals in order to accommodate the changes in each pitch interval. As a result, in case of IP extraction method using STREAK digital filter, I can't find the pitch errors in a frame which consonant and vowel are coexistent; in the boundary between adjoining frames and beginning or ending of a sentence. This method has the capability of being applied to many fields, such as speech coding, speech analysis, speech synthesis and speech recognition.

        In a speech coding system using excitation source of voiced and unvoiced, it would be involves a distortion of speech waveform in case coexist with a voiced and an unvoiced consonants in a frame. This paper present a new method of TSIUVC(Transition Segment Including UnVoiced Consonant) approximate-synthesis by using Least Mean Square. The TSIUVC extraction is based on a zero crossing rate and IPP(Individual Pitch Pulses) extraction algorithm using residual signal of FIR-STREAK Digital Filter. As a result, This method obtain a high quality approximation-synthesis waveform by using Least Mean Square. The important thing is that the frequency signals in a maximum error signal can be made with low distortion approximation-synthesis waveform. This method has the capability of being applied to a new speech coding of Voiced/Silence/TSIUVC, speech analysis and speech synthesis.

      • 이성대상포진의 증상에 따른 안면신경마비의 정도와 예후

        연구목적: 이성대상포진에 동반되는 안면신경마비는 Bell's palsy와는 달리 예후가 더 나쁘고 그 마비가 완전히 회복되지 않는 경우가 더 많다.본 연구에서는 이성대상포진에서 발현되는 증상들의 유무가 치료 전 안면신경마비의 정도 및 치료 후 예후와 상관관계가 있는지를 관찰하여 예후의 예측인자에 대해 분석하였다. 재료 및 방법: 지난 1992년 1월부터 1999년 6월까지 이성대상포진으로 진단받고 본원에 입원하여 고용량 부신피질호르몬제와 항바이러스제인 acyclovir의 병합투여로 동일한 치료를 받은 30명의 환자를 대상으로 후향적으로 의무기록을 분석 및 고찰하였으며, 치료 전 안면마비의 정도와 치료 후 마비의 회복 정도를 이통, 이명, 난청, 현훈 등의 증상의 유무와 치료 시작 시기, 그리고 안면신경의 electroneuronography(ENoG) 값에 따라 비교하였다. 결과: 이성대상포진수포가 안면신경마비 보다 먼저 발현된 경우에 안면신경마비의 치료 전 grade가 통계적으로 유의하게 좋았다(p<0.05).이통, 청력손실, 그리고 현훈의 유무에 따른 안면신경마비의 정도는 상관관계가 없었고 예후에도 차이가 없었다.이명의 유무에 따른 치료 전 안면신경마비의 정도는 상관관계가 없었으나 치료 후 완전회복율은 이명이 있었던 군에서 통계적으로 유의하게 높았다(p=0.003<0.05).완전회복군과 불완전회복군 사이의 치료 전 ENoG의 수치는 통계적으로 유의하게 예후와 상관이 있었다(p=0.037<0.05). 결론: 좀더 많은 수의 환자를 연구에 포함하여 증상에 따른 예후의 차이를 연구하는 것이 필 요하며 또한 ENoG 값이 10%에서 40% 사이인 환자들의 치료 방법에 대한 고려와 이성대상포진수포가 안면신경마비보다 먼저 생긴 환자에서 치료 전 마비정도가 경미했던 이유에 대한 연구가 필요할 것으로 생각된다. Purpose: Herpes zoster oticus generally has a poor prognosis, leaving many patients with permanent facial nerve dysfunction, compare to Bell's palsy.Acyclovir and prednisolone have been widely used for the treatment of herpes zoster oticus.This retrospective study was conducted to suggest the prognostic factors according to various symptoms. Materials and Methods : Clinical studies were retrospectively performed on 30 patients with herpes zoster oticus who were treated with acyclovir and prednisolone in the Chungbuk National University Hospital between 1991 and 1999.The authors analyze the pre-treatment grade and prognosis of facial nerve palsy according to symptoms(the existence of otalgia, tinnitus, hearing loss, and vertigo), the treatment onset, and electroneuronography ( ENoG ). Results : Of thirty patients who have been diagnosed as herpes zoster oticus, there is no significant difference in the pre-treatment grade of facial nerve palsy according to the existence of vesicle, otalgia, tinnitus, vertigo, and hearing loss.Of 25 patients who have facial nerve palsy, the recovery from the palsy is complete in 14 patients(56%).There is no significant difference in the pre-treatment grade of facial nerve palsy according to the existence of otalgia, tinnitus, vertigo, and hearing loss.The pre-treatment grade of facial palsy is better when the vesicles precede facial in the group with tinnitus than without tinnitus.A significant difference of the prognosis according to the onset of treatment and other symptoms are not found.ENoG is better in the group that facial nerve palsy is completely recovered than incomplete recovery group. Conclusion : Reliable prognostic factor according to symptoms is not found, ENoG is the only prognostic factor.

        Cosmological Scale과 Atomic Scale의 相互 關聯性

        Physical laws and quantities derived from the observed macroscopic universe and microscopic atomic structure are compared with each other for the purpose of examining the interrelation between cosmological and atomic scales. The numerical ratios are derived for some parameters as follows;(ⅰ) effective force ranges between intergalaxies and of nucleus (ⅱ) radius of the universe and atom. In these calculations, the present results are found to be about 10^3 times smaller than Dirac's results. By appling the relationship between nuclear radius and mass number to the universe, the theoretical radius of the universe is obtained to be 6.5×10^27㎝ which is three times smaller than that derived from the assumption of the bound universe. These results suggest that there are some structural similarities between the two extreme scales, and that microphysical approach to the cosmology is valuable to a certain extent.

        Nitrosourea derivatives(18) containing nitroxyl radicals as a carriers of alkylating agents were synthesized by a conventional route via carbamoylation of isocyanate and nitrosation, respectively. The intermediate isocyanate(16) required for the synthesis of carbamoylated derivatives was obtained through Curtius rearrangement reaction of carbonylazide. Thin layer chromatography, determination of melting point, lnfrared spectroscopy and Nudeas Magnetic Resonomce spectroscopy were used in idchtifying the suructure of those compounds.

        PHOTOMETRIC OBSERVATIONS OF BW VUL

        We present the data of photoelectric photometric observations of BW Vul carried out for four nights during the period of $1982{\sim}1984$. The light curves with asymmetric shape show a stillstand on the ascending branch at phase of ${\phi}{\approx}0.85$ just before the maximum light, and also the ampitude and shape of light curves are changed from night to night. Using all the published data, a new ephemeris of maximum time is derived, in which the period of light variation is $P=0^d.20102977$ and its increasing rate is 2.2 see/century.
