The purpose of this study was to analyze the economic impact of sports event as a part of sports marketing strategies of local city. To reach the purpose, Index of S city for 6 years - number of the sports events, public investment, survey for consumption, and Input-Output analysis. - were researched. S city held most sports event with 8 in 2001 and invested 14.8 million won. The most investment was 39.6 million won with 4 Sports events in 2003. The Production inducing effect reached 2,019 million won in 2001, 3,054 million won in 2002, 3,091 million won in 2003, 538 million won in 2004, 542 million won in 2005 and 1,548 million won in 2006. The highest income inducing effect was 862 million won in 2002 with 7 sports events, the employment inducing effect was calculated to 95 persons in 2002 and 94 persons in 2003, and the valued-added inducing effect was 1,738 million won in 2002. The most economic effects were higher than the average effects of whole other industries in Gangwondo which imply that the in S city held sports events contribute to regional development and more regional sports marketing.

Objectives : To see if there were any differences in waist circumference reduction when certain variable such as age, sex, BFR(BFR; Body Fat Rate), PIBW(PIBW; Percent Ideal Body Weight), WHR(WHR; Waist Hip Ratio) and BMI(BMI; Body Mass Index) were given. Methods : Among outpatients who admitted to department of Oriental Rehabilitation Medicine, Jeon-Ju Oriental Medicine Hospital, Won-kwang University from August 2003 to september 2004, 89 obese patients were chosen and electroacupunture was practiced to these groups in order to treat abdominal obesity and waist circumference reduction. Results : There were no significant correlation between sex, age and waist circumference reduction. Compared to groups who had shown lower BMI, higher BMI groups have shown greater change in waist circumference reduction. As BFR increase waist circumference reduction tended to increase as well. Conclusions : From the above results, higher BMI groups had shown greater change in waist circumference reduction compared to lower BMI groups.

<P>TALLYHO/Jng (TH) mice reveal hypercholesterolemia at an early age before their plasma glucose levels have increased. The increased plasma cholesterol should be related to bile acids (BAs) metabolism, because cholesterol is the precursor of BAs and BAs change cholesterol metabolism in a feedback manner. We analyzed the BAs pool size, BAs composition, and expression levels of several proteins that have key roles in BAs synthesis, excretion, and reabsorption and compared them to those of C57BL/6 (B6) mice to study BAs metabolism in TH mice. TH mice exhibited an increased total BAs pool size, increased BAs content in the cecum feces, and an increased ratio of muricholic acid (MCA)/cholic acid (CA). The mRNA and protein levels of cholesterol 7 alpha-hydroxylase (Cyp7a1) and the ATP-binding cassette sub-family G member 5 (Abcg5) were elevated in the liver but not in the apical sodium bile acid transporter (Asbt) and organic solute transporters (Osts) in the ileum. These results indicate that synthesis and the excretion of BAs from the liver to the gallbladder might be elevated, but the reabsorption rate of BAs in the ileum might be reduced. The declined expression of fibroblast growth factor 15 (Fgf15) and fibroblast growth factor receptor 4 (Fgfr4) was respectively identified in the ileum and the liver, indicating the disrupted feedback inhibition of Cyp7al. Consequently, hypercholesterolemia in TH mice might increase the BAs amounts via the interrupted Fxr/Fgf15/Fgfr4-mediated feedback regulation of Cyp7a1.</P>

Carbon nanotubes were deposited directly on SUS304 plates by PECVD with acetylene and hydrogen as precursors under various deposition conditions. Raman spectroscopy showed that carbon nanotubes were not fully graphitized at the deposition temperatures, 600 to 750℃, although defects decreased with increase of deposition temperature. SEM microscopy showed that carbon nanotubes were not straight, but their growth followed the tip growth model. Pretreatment of the substrate such as polishing and dipping in HF solution was required for the successful deposition. Using non-aqueous electrolyte we fabricated electrical double layer capacitance (EDLC) with SUS304 plates, on which carbon nanotubes were deposited, without any treatment, and measured charge/discharge characteristics. Discharge capacitance decreased with cycles from initial value of 128 F/g, but stabilized at 58 F/g after 50 cycles.
Discovery of an integrative network of microRNAs and transcriptomics changes for acute kidney injury

The contribution of miRNA to the pathogenesis of acute kidney injury (AKI) is not well understood. Here we evaluated an integrative network of miRNAs and mRNA data to discover a possible master regulator of AKI. Microarray analyses of the kidneys of mice treated with cisplatin were used to extract putative miRNAs that cause renal injury. Of them, miR-122 was mostly downregulated by cisplatin, whereas miR-34a was upregulated. A network integrating dysregulated miRNAs and altered mRNA expression along with target prediction enabled us to identify Foxo3 as a core protein to activate p53. The miR-122 inhibited Foxo3 translation as assessed using an miR mimic, an inhibitor, and a Foxo3 3′-UTR reporter. In a mouse model, Foxo3 levels paralleled the degree of tubular injury. The role of decreased miR-122 in inducing Foxo3 during AKI was strengthened by the ability of the miR-122 mimic or inhibitor to replicate results. Increase in miR-34a also promoted the acetylation of Foxo3 by repressing Sirt1. Consistently, cisplatin facilitated the binding of Foxo3 and p53 for activation, which depended not only on decreased miR-122 but also on increased miR-34a. Other nephrotoxicants had similar effects. Among targets of p53, Phlda3 was robustly induced by cisplatin, causing tubular injury. Consistently, treatment with miR mimics and/or inhibitors, or with Foxo3 and Phlda3 siRNAs, modulated apoptosis. Thus, our results uncovered an miR integrative network regulating toxicant-induced AKI and identified Foxo3 as a bridge molecule to the p53 pathway.
Final Settlement Prediction Methods of Embankments on Soft Clay

Analyses, in which load was regarded as instant load and gradual step load, respectively, were performed with data measured on a gradually loaded field, and the results were inspected to find the effect of load conditions, and the final settlements which were predicted by Hyperbolic, Tan's, Asaoka's, and Monden's methods were compared with each other. Settlement curves in which load was regarded as instant load and gradual step load begin to coincide at twice the time of duration of embankment. On the ground installed vertical drain, from the results of Hyperbolic, Tan's, Asaoka's, Monden's, Curve fitting I, and Curve fitting II (simple, carrillo) methods it was concluded that Asaoka, Curve fitting I, and Curve fitting II methods are reliable for prediction final settlement with back analysis.

Persistent mode HTS pancake coil has been fabricated using a coated conductor by a "wind-and-flip" method. A coated conductor with the length of 1.2 meters was divided at the center along the length. The sliced coated conductor was wound on a pair of bobbins with a diameter of around 4 cm and two pancake coils connected superconductively without a resistive joint were prepared. By flipping one of the pancake coils, the magnetic field generated by each coil is to be aligned to the same direction and generate meaningful magnetic field while the magnetic fields of two spit coils are canceled without flipping. Permanent current was induced by flowing current to the coil immersed in liquid nitrogen pool using a power supply. A magnetic field of 48.8 Gauss was generated when 20 A of current was flowing in the pancake coils. The "Wind and flip" method can be applied for the fabrication of a long solenoid magnet by winding a sliced coated conductor on a cylindrical bobbin. It is also introduced that the construction of multiple sets of pancake (or solenoid) coils is possible by a "wind-and-flip" method using a wide coated conductor.
