Influence of the optical output coupler on the long-term stable continuous variable entanglement generation

Yan Manjun,Ma Long 한국물리학회 2022 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.81 No.3

Continuous-variable entanglement plays a very important role in quantum information processes. In quantum information protocols based on continuous variable entanglement, long-term data acquisition and information processing are necessary, such as gate sequence for quantum computation and gravitational wave detection. The degree of entanglement is mainly afected by the coating parameters of the output coupler. In this paper, we theoretically analyze the efect of diferent transmittances of the output coupler on the degree of entanglement, which provides a theoretical basis for further realizing highdegree and long-term stable of entanglement

Oxygen-vacancy-rich spinel CoFe2O4 nanocrystals anchored on cage-like carbon for high-performance oxygen electrocatalysis

        Yan-Chun Li,Fan-Long Jin,박수진 한국화학공학회 2021 Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering Vol.38 No.10

We report spinel-type CoFe2O4 nanocrystals (NCs) synthesized through facile hydrothermal growth and their attachment on a cage-like carbon (CC) for efficient and durable oxygen evolution/reduction reaction (OER/ORR) performance. As a catalyst, the so-constructed CoFe2O4 NCs show significantly higher OER performance than bare CoFe2O4 and CC, leading to an overpotential of 1.59 V for the OER at a current density of 10mA/cm. Furthermore, CoFe2O4 NCs on CC electrodes also exhibit good ORR performance, which is comparable to Pt/C, significantly higher than that of bare carbon fiber paper, and acts as a bifunctional electrocatalyst. The CoFe2O4 NCs anchored on the CC electrodes exhibit remarkably long-term stability, which is evaluated by continuous cycling (over 5,000 cycles), without any morphological change, but preserving all the materials within the electrode. The results indicate that the CoFe2O4 NCs have a promising potential for efficient, cost-effective, and durable oxygen electrocatalysis at large scales using earth-abundant materials and low-cost fabrication processes.

        Yun-Li Cao,Lei Wang,Li-Long Zhou,Bao-Hua Xu,Yan-Yan Diao,Suojiang Zhang 한국공업화학회 2018 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.65 No.-

A novel type of heteropolyacids, CTAB-CsH3PMo11VO40 (CTA-CsPAV), was developed by a method of emulsion synthesis using cetyltrimethyl ammonium bromide (CTAB) as the structure promoter, which was applied as a catalyst in the oxidation of methacrolein (MAL) to methacrylic acid (MAA) with fixed-bed reactor. The structure and property of CTA-CsPAV were characterized by FT-IR, XRD, nitrogen adsorption-desorption, NH3-TPD, SEM, XPS, and so on. The structure-performance relationship of CTA-CsPAV was systematically studied, wherein the influence of surface area, acidity, redox property of CTA-CsPAV were focused and discussed. Importantly, the long-term performance of CTA-CsPAV was also investigated.

      • A Wearable ECG Acquisition System With Compact Planar-Fashionable Circuit Board-Based Shirt

        Yoo, J.,Long Yan,Seulki Lee,Hyejung Kim,Hoi-Jun Yoo IEEE 2009 IEEE transactions on information technology in bio Vol.13 No.6

<P>A wearable electrocardiogram (ECG) acquisition system implemented with planar-fashionable circuit board (P-FCB)-based shirt is presented. The proposed system removes cumbersome wires from conventional Holter monitor system for convenience. Dry electrodes screen-printed directly on fabric enables long-term monitoring without skin irritation. The ECG monitoring shirt exploits a monitoring chip with a group of electrodes around the body, and both the electrodes and the interconnection are implemented using P-FCB to enhance wearability and to lower production cost. The characteristics of P-FCB electrode are shown, and the prototype hardware is implemented to successfully verify the proposed concept.</P>

      • Changes in Markers of Liver Function in HCV 1b Patients with Compensated Cirrhosis Treated with Ombitasvir/Paritaprevir/ Ritonavir plus Dasabuvir with Ribavirin

        ( Jeong Heo ),( Yan Luo ),( Wan-long Chuang ),( Jidong Jia ),( Kwang-hyub Han ),( Ming-lung Yu ),( Hong Tang ),( Young-suk Lim ),( Cheng-yuan Peng ),( Min Xu ),( Maorong Wang ),( Bo Fu ),( Niloufar Mo 대한간학회 2017 춘·추계 학술대회 (KASL) Vol.2017 No.1

Aims: Patients chronically infected with HCV are at risk of developing extrahepatic manifestations of HCV as well as progressing to compensated or decompensated cirrhosis and HCC. Although current treatments have high rates of SVR, relatively little is known about possible regression of liver fibrosis after achieving an SVR. The ONYX-II trial examined the efficacy and safety of ombitasvir/paritaprevir/ritonavir plus dasabuvir + ribavirin (RBV) in Asian patients with HCV genotype 1b infection and compensated cirrhosis. Here we report changes in key markers of liver fibrosis and function. Methods: Patients with chronic HCV GT1b infection and compensated cirrhosis were enrolled in China, South Korea and Taiwan and received 12 weeks of OBV/PTV/r (25 mg/150 mg/100 mg once daily) and DSV (250 mg twice daily) with weight-based RBV. The primary objective of ONYX-II was to assess efficacy (SVR12) and safety of the regimen. Changes in markers of liver fibrosis and function between baseline (BL) and post-treatment week (PTW) 12 are presented. Results: Overall, 104 patients were enrolled and treated in ONYX-II. All patients (104/104, 100%) achieved SVR12. BL and PTW12 data for FibroTest score, alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), total bilirubin, albumin, platelet count and alpha fetoprotein (AFP) are shown in Table 1. All selected parameters showed numerical improvements between BL and PTW12. Mean ALT and AST levels returned to within normal range and FibroTest scores demonstrated a numerical improvement, suggesting improvement in liver status. The complete set of data between BL and PTW12 will be presented for these parameters and other liver composite parameters at the conference. Conclusions: Measurement of key liver function markers during the ONYX-II trial showed a numerical improvement within 12 weeks of completion of treatment in HCV GT1b-infected patients with compensated cirrhosis. Further follow-up of these patients will determine the long-term durability of these changes.

Temporal expression profiling of long noncoding RNA and mRNA in the peripheral blood during porcine development

        Gu, Yiren,Zhou, Rui,Jin, Long,Tao, Xuan,Zhong, Zhijun,Yang, Xuemei,Liang, Yan,Yang, Yuekui,Wang, Yan,Chen, Xiaohui,Gong, Jianjun,He, Zhiping,Li, Mingzhou,Lv, Xuebin Asian Australasian Association of Animal Productio 2020 Animal Bioscience Vol.33 No.5

Objective: We investigated the temporal expression profiles of long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) and mRNA in the peripheral blood of pigs during development and identified the lncRNAs that are related to the blood-based immune system. Methods: Peripheral blood samples were obtained from the pigs at 0, 7, 28, and 180 days and 2 years of age. RNA sequencing was performed to survey the lncRNA and mRNA transcriptomes in the samples. Short time-series expression miner (STEM) was used to show temporal expression patterns in the mRNAs and lncRNAs. Gene ontology and Kyoto encyclopedia of genes and genomes analyses were performed to assess the genes' biological relevance. To predict the functions of the identified lncRNAs, we extracted mRNAs that were nearby loci and highly correlated with the lncRNAs. Results: In total of 5,946 lncRNA and 12,354 mRNA transcripts were identified among the samples. STEM showed that most lncRNAs and mRNAs had similar temporal expression patterns during development, indicating the expressional correlation and functional relatedness between them. The five stages were divided into two classes: the suckling period and the late developmental stage. Most genes were expressed at low level during the suckling period, but at higher level during the late stages. Expression of several T-cell-related genes increased continuously during the suckling period, indicating that these genes are crucial for establishing the adaptive immune system in piglets at this stage. Notably, lncRNA TCONS-00086451 may promote blood-based immune system development by upregulating nuclear factor of activated T-cells cytoplasmic 2 expression. Conclusion: This study provides a catalog of porcine peripheral blood-related lncRNAs and mRNAs and reveals the characteristics and temporal expression profiles of these lncRNAs and mRNAs during peripheral blood development from the newborn to adult stages in pigs.

Collateral Flow in Magnetic Resonance Angiography: Prognostic Value for Vertebrobasilar Stenosis With Stroke Recurrence

        Long Yan,Ying Yu,Kaijiang Kang,Zhikai Hou,Min Wan,Weilun Fu,Rongrong Cui,Yongjun Wang,Zhongrong Miao,Xin Lou,Ning Ma 대한신경과학회 2022 Journal of Clinical Neurology Vol.18 No.5

Background and Purpose Intracranial vertebrobasilar atherosclerotic stenosis (IVBAS) is a major cause of posterior circulation stroke. Some patients suffer from stroke recurrence despite receiving medical treatment. This study aimed to determine the prognostic value of a new score for the posterior communicating artery and the P1 segment of the posterior cerebral artery (PCoA-P1) for predicting stroke recurrence in IVBAS. Methods We retrospectively enrolled patients with severe IVBAS (70%–99%). According to the number of stroke recurrences, patients were divided into no-recurrence, single-recurrence, and multiple-recurrences groups. We developed a new 5-point grading scale, with the PCoA-P1 score ranging from 0 to 4 based on magnetic resonance angiography, in which primary collaterals were dichotomized into good (2–4 points) and poor (0 or 1 point). Stroke recurrences after the index stroke were recorded. Patients who did not experience stroke recurrence were compared with those who experienced single or multiple stroke recurrences. Results From January 2012 to December 2019, 176 patients were enrolled, of which 116 (65.9%) had no stroke recurrence, 35 (19.9%) had a single stroke recurrence, and 25 (14.2%) had multiple stroke recurrences. Patients with single stroke recurrence (odds ratio [OR]= 4.134, 95% confidence interval [CI]=1.822–9.380, p=0.001) and multiple stroke recurrences (OR=6.894, 95% CI=2.489–19.092, p<0.001) were more likely to have poor primary collaterals than those with no stroke recurrence. Conclusions The new PCoA-P1 score appears to provide improve predictions of stroke recurrence in patients with IVBAS

Cucumber Growth and Nitrogen Uptake as Affected by Solution Temperature and NO3-:NH4+ Ratios during the Seedling

        Yan, Qiu-Yan,Duan, Zeng-Qiang,Li, Jun-Hui,Li, Xun,Dong, Jin-Long Korean Society of Horticultural Science 2013 원예과학기술지 Vol.31 No.4

The effect of solution temperature and nitrogen form on cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) growth, photosynthesis and nitrogen metabolism was investigated in hydroponic culture. Cucumber plants were grown for 35 days in a greenhouse at three constant solution temperatures ($15^{\circ}C$, $20^{\circ}C$, and $25^{\circ}C$) within a natural aerial temperature ($15-30^{\circ}C$). Four nitrate:ammonium ($NO{_3}^-:NH{_4}^+$) ratios (10:0, 8:2, 5:5, and 2:8 $mmol{\cdot}L^{-1}$) at constant nitrogen (N) concentration of $10mmol{\cdot}L^{-1}$ were applied within each solution temperature treatment. Results showed an increasing solution temperature enhanced plant growth (height, dry weight, and leaf area) in most N treatments. Dry weight accumulation was greatest at the 10:0 $NO{_3}^-:NH{_4}^+$ ratio in the $15^{\circ}C$ solution, the 5:5 ratio in the $20^{\circ}C$ solution and the 8:2 ratio in the $25^{\circ}C$ solution. Photosynthetic rate (Pn) response to solution temperature and $NO{_3}^-:NH{_4}^+$ ratio was similar to that of plant growth. Probably, the photosynthate shortage played a role in the reduced biomass formation. Increasing solution temperature enhanced the nitrate reductase (NR) activity, and further reduced shoots nitrate content. Our results indicate that the optimal ratio of nitrate to ammonium that promotes growth in hydroponic cucumber varies with solution temperature.

Challenges for QTL Analysis in Crops

Long, Yan,Zhang, Chunyu,Meng, Jinling The Korean Society of Crop Science 2008 Journal of crop science and biotechnology Vol.11 No.1

Quantitative trait loci, a genetic concept for explaining the inheritance of non-Mendelian traits in 1940s, have been realized as particular fragments of chromosome even unique genes in most crops in 21st century. However, only very a small portion of QTL has been screened out by geneticists comparing to a great number of genes underneath the quantitative traits. These identified QTL even have been seldom used into breeding program because crop breeders may not find the QTL in their breeding populations in their field station. Several key points will be proposed to meet the challenges of QTL analysis today: a fine mapping population and the related reference genetic map, QTL evaluation in multiple environments, recognizing real QTL with small genetic effect, map integration.

A 3.9 mW 25-Electrode Reconfigured Sensor for Wearable Cardiac Monitoring System

        Long Yan,Joonsung Bae,Seulki Lee,Taehwan Roh,Kiseok Song,Hoi-Jun Yoo IEEE 2011 IEEE journal of solid-state circuits Vol.46 No.1

<P>A low power highly sensitive Thoracic Impedance Variance (TIV) and Electrocardiogram (ECG) monitoring SoC is designed and implemented into a poultice-like plaster sensor for wearable cardiac monitoring. 0.1 Ω TIV detection is possible with a sensitivity of 3.17 V/Ω and SNR > 40 dB. This is achieved with the help of a high quality (Q-factor > 30) balanced sinusoidal current source and low noise reconfigurable readout electronics. A cm-range 13.56 MHz fabric inductor coupling is adopted to start/stop the SoC remotely. Moreover, a 5% duty-cycled Body Channel Communication (BCC) is exploited for 0.2 nJ/b 1 Mbps energy efficient external data communication. The proposed SoC occupies 5 mm × 5 mm including pads in a standard 0.18 μm 1P6M CMOS technology. It dissipates a peak power of 3.9 mW when operating in body channel receiver mode, and consumes 2.4 mW when operating in TIV and ECG detection mode. The SoC is integrated on a 15 cm × 15 cm fabric circuit board together with a flexible battery to form a compact wearable sensor. With 25 adhesive screen-printed fabric electrodes, detection of TIV and ECG at 16 different sites of the heart is possible, allowing optimal detection sites to be configured to accommodate different user dependencies.</P>
