        前交通動脈瘤에 對한 手術成績分析

        The authors attempted to analyse the factors influencing the mortality involved in aneurysm surgery based on 38 cases of intracranial surgery for anterior communicating aneurysms, and obtained the following conclusion. 1. The surgical results are much better when the aneurysm surgery is delayed over one week after the occurrence of aneurysmal rupture, if there is no evidence of intracerebral hematoma. Administration of a massive dosage of epsilon aminocaproic acid in the waiting period prior to aneurysm surgery seems to be effective for preventing recurrence of bleeding from the aneurysm. 2. The direction of the anterior communicating aneurysm should be clearly visualized on a cerebral angiogram so that the most effective aneurysmal approach can be selected in surgery. 3. Microsurgery and hypotension in aneurysm surgery minimize brain damage in the exposure of aneurysm and provide accurate isolation of the aneurysmal neck from the parent vessel in aneurysmal neck ligation. 4. Proximal ligation of the anterior cerebral artery is also an effective procedure to prevent recurrent hemorrhage from anterior communicating aneurysm.

        Hydroxyl Groups in Demineralized Bone Matrix

        <P>Human demineralized bone matrix (DBM) containing bone morphogenetic proteins (BMPs) is naturally biocompatible and can be remodeled by patients’ own bone. The major shortcoming of many of the currently used DBM gel formulations is that they have a tendency to flow, particularly if there is continuous bleeding at the application site. In this study, the physicochemical properties of human DBM were examined to improve the efficiency of DBM formulations. DBM remarkably showed higher water absorption than nondemineralized bone powder after 150 min. Hydroxyl groups in DBM appeared in fourier transform infrared analysis, although hydroxyl band in nondemineralized bone powder was not observed. The results suggested that hydrogels such as CMC, hyaluronic acid, or poloxamer as carriers can be applied for injectable DBM products, such as gel or putty types.</P>

      • Hydrogen peroxide-responsive copolyoxalate nanoparticles for detection and therapy of ischemia-reperfusion injury

        The main culprit in the pathogenesis of ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury is the generation of high level of hydrogen peroxide (H<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>2</SUB>). In this study, we report a novel diagnostic and therapeutic strategy for I/R injury based on H<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>2</SUB>-activatable copolyoxalate nanoparticles using a murine model of hind limb I/R injury. The nanoparticles are composed of hydroxybenzyl alcohol (HBA)-incorporating copolyoxalate (HPOX) that, in the presence of H<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>2</SUB>, degrades completely into three known and safe compounds, cyclohexanedimethanol, HBA and CO<SUB>2</SUB>. HPOX effectively scavenges H<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>2</SUB> in a dose-dependent manner and hydrolyzes to release HBA which exerts intrinsic antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities both in vitro and in vivo models of hind limb I/R. HPOX nanoparticles loaded with fluorophore effectively and robustly image H<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>2</SUB> generated in hind limb I/R injury, demonstrating their potential for bioimaging of H<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>2</SUB>-associated diseases. Furthermore, HPOX nanoparticles loaded with anti-apoptotic drug effectively release the drug payload after I/R injury, exhibiting their effectiveness for a targeted drug delivery system for I/R injury. We anticipate that multifunctional HPOX nanoparticles have great potential as H<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>2</SUB> imaging agents, therapeutics and drug delivery systems for H<SUB>2</SUB>O<SUB>2</SUB>-associated diseases.

        Sliding Mode Control for Continuous Casting Mold Oscillatory System Driven by Servo Motor

        This paper develops an extended-state-observer-based sliding mode control strategy for continuous castingmold oscillatory system driven by servo motor in the presence of matched and mismatched disturbance. Extendedstate observers are employed to estimate the compound disturbances, and the requirement of the derivativeof the compound disturbances to zero is avoided. In order to counteract the mismatched disturbance and attenuatethe chattering phenomenon, a novel sliding surface based on extended state observer is designed for the system. Simulation results illustrate that the proposed controller can achieve better tracking performance and robustness tothe compound disturbance.

        Prescribed Performance Adaptive Neural Tracking Control for Strict-feedback Markovian Jump Nonlinear Systems with Time-varying Delay

        A prescribed performance adaptive neural tracking control problem is investigated for strict-feedbackMarkovian jump nonlinear systems with time-varying delay. First, a new prescribed performance constraint variableis proposed to generate the virtual control that forces the tracking error to fall within prescribed boundaries. Combining with the approximation capability of neural networks and backstepping design, the adaptive trackingcontroller is designed. The designed controller is independent on time delay by constructing appropriate Lyapunovfunctions to offset the unknown time-varying delays. It is proved that the closed-loop system is uniformly ultimatelybounded in probability, and that both steady-state and transient-state performances are guaranteed. Finally,simulation results are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

        장기내에서 Zinc 의 이동 메캐니즘

        The effects of prostaglandin El [PGE1], testosterone, 17β-estradiol and indomethacin on the zinc flux rate across the jejunal segements isolated from rats of each sex were determined using the Ussing chamber technique. Addition of PGE1 [5.0 μM] to the segment bathing medium significantly stimulated the zinc flux rate from mucosa-to-serosa [J_(ms)] of the jejunal segements isolated from male rats and inhibited it in those from female rats. 17β-estradiol [10 nM] inhibited J_(ms) of jujunal segments isolated from male rats, but testosterone stimulated those from female rats. To confirm that testosterone stimulates and 17β-estradiol inhibits J_(ms), the effects of testosterone on the zinc flux rates of segments isolated from male rats and 17β-estradiol on those from female rats were determined. In those experiments, both testosterone and 17β-estradiol inhibited J_(ms) without affecting the zinc flux rate from serosa-to-mucosa [J_(sm)]. However, when rats were ovariectomized, both of these steroid hormones stimulated J_(ms). Interestingly neither PGE1 nor steroid sex hormones produced any effect on the J_(sm), although indomethacin stimulated the J_(sm) of segments from male rats. These results suggest that steroid sex hormones interact with PGs in influencing the intestinal zinc transport and that endogenous PGs and steroid sex hormones augment the effects of exogenous hormones and PGs.

        성별에 따른 아리키돈산에 의한 장관내 칼슘 흡수의 차이

        Based on the finding arachidonic acid (AA) stimulates, and prostaglandin (PGE₂) inhibits calcium absorption in female rats in vivo, we examined whether or not arachidonic acid also stimulates calcium absorption in male rats in vivo as well as in vitro. When 1 ㎎ of AA was given to male rats two times via gastric intubation, 24 and 4 h before sacrifice, and 20 μCi of ^(45)Ca (10 μCi/㎎) 1 h before sacrifice, organ ^(45)Ca contents significantly decreased compared with control rats. When the same amount of AA and ^(45)Ca were given to female rats, organ ^(45)Ca contents significantly increased compared with control rats. When duodenal segments from the same experimental rat groups studied in vivo were mounted to Membrane Ion Transport Chambers to measure the net ^(45)Ca absorption rates in the male rats, there was no significant difference between the control rats and those treated with AA, while the net ^(45)Ca absorption rate was significantly higher for AA-treated female rats compared with control rats. In contrast, when 10 μM AA was added to the duodenal segment bathing medium in the Membrane Ion Transport Chamber experiments, the net ^(45)Ca absorption rate significantly decreased for male rats, but there was no discernible effect on female rats. These data demonstrate that the modulation of intestinal calcium absorption with AA added exogenously in vivo and in vitro is dependent on the sex of the animals. They also suggest that AA inhibits and AA metabolites other than PGE₂ stimulate the absorption of calcium, and these reactions are mediated by female sex hormones.

      • Molecular marker evaluated for heat tolerance in wheat

        High temperature is one of major environmental stress. Some of molecular markers related heat stress or tolerance have been reported by many researchers. Heat tolerance managing is difficult through the phenotypic selection, so marker assistant selection (MAS) using molecular markers like as RAPD, SSR ect. was tried to selection of useful traits for heat tolerance. Fourteen SSR markers reported by previous research were selected for this research. These markers were linked to important traits including grain filling duration, HIS (Heat susceptibility index) grain filling duration. In this study, we tried to evaluate 14 SSR markers for MAS using 31 useful wheat resources including 24 crossing line from Turkey and six Korean wheat cultivars using 14 SSR markers. The average of the number of alleles and PIC values in this study were 6.14 and 0.63, respectively. Two major clades and six sub clades were grouped by phylogenetic tree using UPGMA program. Six Korean wheat cultivars were distinct from other Turkey resources in the phylogenetic dendrogram. From the results, we expected that these markers were able to adapt to screening wheat genotyping for heat tolerance.
