스테인레스 강(304) 표면의 부동상태 성질을 규명하기 위해서 "as received" 상태 표면과 CrO_3/H_2SO_4 용액으로 활성화시킨 표면을 Ar이온으로 깍아 내려가면서 ESCA로 표면원소들의 조성 및 산화상태를 측정하였다. 지금까지의 많은 보고와는 달리 "as received" 상태에서는 O₂분자가 표면층에 깊숙히 침투되어 있음을 발견하였다. 이것은 부동상태 산화피막의 형성과정이 크롬과 철의 상대적 확산 속도차에 의해서도 다르지만, bulk 속으로 산소가 확산되어 들어가는 정도에도 의존함을 나타내는 것이다. In order to study the passive state of stainless steel(304, austenite), the depth profile of surface composition as well as its oxidation state has been investigated by means of X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The study has been carried both on a "as received" state surface and surface activated in CrO_3/H_2SO_4 solution. Its has been found contrary to the previous works that a considerable molecular oxygen are penetrated deep into the oxide layer. This is an indication that the passive state oxide- film formation depends not only on the relative diffusion rates of chromium and iron, but also on the diffusion rate of oxygen into the hulk.

We studied runoff characteristics of combined sewer overflows in a city while it was raining. The event mean concentration (EMC) of biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), chemical oxygen demand (COD_(cr)), suspended solids (SS), total nitrogen (TN), and total phosphorus (TP) in one of the combined sewer sites in Chuncheon was 63.5-211.6 mg/L, 114.9-523.8 mg/L, 70.3-436.4 mg/L, 6.4-33.0 mg/L, and 1.09-6.81 mg/L, respectively, In another combined sewer, the EMC of BOD, COD, SS, TN, and TP was 42.1-131.4 mg/L, 107.7-256.5 mg/L, 33.7-221.1 mg/L, 7.9-26.4 mg/L, and 1.16-3.91 mg/L, respectively. The ratio of the cumulative pollutant mass and the cumulative discharged volume determined using all parameters (BOD, COD_(cr), SS, TN, and TP was over 1.0, which shows the first flush effect. Relationships between flow and loadings of BOD, C0D_(cr), SS, TN, and TP were 0.90, 0.89, 0.88, 0.89, 0.92, respectively. Although the size of two areas was almost same, Pollutant concentration and loading were different because of the amount of rainfall, rainfall intensity and basin area.

목적: To compare the efficacy of progesterone versus cervical cerclage in preventing preterm birth in twin pregnancies with a history of preterm birth or presentation of a short cervix 방법: This was a retrospective study of twin pregnancies managed at Obstetrics and Gynecology, CHA Bundang Medical center from December 2007 to April 2016 using medical records. We included 432 patients with 28weeks of gestation or less who were diagnosed with a cervical length less than 25 mm or who had history of preterm birth. The study population were devided 4 groups including progesterone group (n=138), cervical cerclage group (n=21), progesterone with cerclage group (n=78) and conservative treatment group (n=195) and outcomes were compared among 4 groups. The primary outcome measures were spontaneous birth at <28, 32, 34, or 36 weeks of gestation. The secondary outcome measures included hospitalization for tocolytics, antenatal corticosteroids and small for gestational age. 결과: Incidence of spontaneous delivery at <34 weeks of gestation was 26.9% (21/78) and 13.8% (27/195) in the progesterone with cerclage group and conservative treatment group, respectively (OR 36.9, 95% CI 5.45-250.24, p<0.001). There was statistically significant differences received antenatal corticosteroid between two groups. (OR 4.39, 95% CI 1.29-14.98, p=0.018) 결론: In twin pregnancies where patients are diagnosed with short cervical length or with a prior preterm birth history, treatment of cervical cerclage with progesterone showed significantly greater occurrence of delivery before 34 weeks compared to conservative management.
국내 유통 농산물 중 과채류와 근채류의 잔류농약 모니터링 및 위해성 평가

전국 6개 도시에서 유통되고 있는 농산물 중 과채류인 토마토와 참외, 근채류인 마늘, 감자 및 양파에 대한 농약잔류실태와 위해성을 평가하였다. 수집된 250점의 시료는 GC/ECD, GC/NPD 및 HPLC/UVD을 이용한 다성분 동시분석법으로 잔류농약을 분석하였다. 분석 결과 42점 시료에서 17종의 농약이 검출되었으며, 관행농산물 32점, 유기농산물 1점, 무농약농산물 4점, 저농약농산물 5점에서 검출되었다. 1점의 관행농산물 감자에서 검출된 myclobutanil, 8점의 관행농산물 및 2점의 저농약농산물 참외에서 검출된 procymidone은 작물에 대한 농약 잔류허용기준이 설정되어 있지 않은 농약이었으며, 관행농산물 감자에서 검출된 fenbuconazole 1점과 관행농산물 토마토에서 검출된 phorate 1점의 검출량은 잔류허용기준치를 초과하여 부적합 농산물로 분류되었다. 검출된 농약과 그 검출량을 토대로 농약의 1일 섭취허용량을 산출하여 식품을 통해 매일 섭취되는 농약이 인간에게 미치는 위해도를 평가한 결과 ADI 대비 최저 0.0064%에서 최고 4.6035%로 낮은 %ADI 값을 보였고 5종의 농산물 섭취에 의한 위해성은 낮은 것으로 판단되었다. BACKGROUND: This study was conducted to monitor the residue of pesticides and to assess their risk in domestic agricultural products, such as fruit vegetables, tomatoes, oriental melons and root vegetables, garlic, potatoes and onions. METHODS AND RESULTS: 250 samples containing both general and environment-friendly certified agricultural products were collected from traditional markets and supermarkets in 6 cities. 132 pesticides except for herbicides were analysed using the multi-residue methods by GC/ECD, GC/NPD and HPLC/UVD. 17 kinds of pesticides were detected from 42 samples, which were 32 general, 1 organic, 4 pesticide-free and 5 low pesticide agricultural products. Among those, myclobutanil detected in 1 potato and procymidone detected in 10 oriental melons were unregistered pesticides for using in Korea, Fenbuconazole detected in 1 potato and phorate detected in 1 tomato were exceeded over the MRLs established by Korea Food and Drug Administration, CONCLUSION: Based on these results, a risk assesment was conducted using a percentage of acceptable daily intake (%ADI). %ADI ranged from 0.0064% to 4.6035%, and showed these values have no effect on human health.

Oligodendrocyte precursor cells (OPCs) are most susceptible to oxidative stress in the brain. However, the cause of differences in susceptibility to oxidative stress between OPCs and mature oligodendrocytes (mOLs) remains unclear. Recently, we identified in vivo that αB-crystallin (aBC) is expressed in mOLs but not in OPCs. Therefore, we examined in the present study whether aBC expression could affect cell survival under oxidative stress induced by hydrogen peroxide using primary cultures of OPCs and mOLs from neonatal rat brains. Expression of aBC was greater in mOLs than in OPCs, and the survival rate of mOLs was significantly higher than that of OPCs under oxidative stress. Suppression of aBC by siRNA transfection resulted in a decrease in the survival rate of mOLs under oxidative stress. These data suggest that higher susceptibility of OPCs than mOLs to oxidative stress is due, at least in part, to low levels of aBC expression. [BMB Reports 2013; 46(10): 501-506]
