Recently, an increasing number of studies have focused on the effects of CD4+ T cell on cognitive function. However, the changes of Th2 cytokines in restricted CD4+ T cell receptor (TCR) repertoire model and their effects on the adult hippocampal neurogenesis and memory are not fully understood. Here, we investigated whether and how the mice with restricted CD4+ repertoire TCR exhibit learning and memory impairment by using OT-II mice. OT-II mice showed decreased adult neurogenesis in hippocampus and short- and long- term memory impairment. Moreover, Th2 cytokines in OT-II mice are significantly increased in peripheral organs and IL-4 is significantly increased in brain. Finally, IL-4 treatment significantly inhibited the proliferation of cultured adult rat hippocampal neural stem cells. Taken together, abnormal level of Th2 cytokines can lead memory dysfunction via impaired adult neurogenesis in OT-II transgenic.

Human adipose tissue–derived mesenchymal stem cells (ASCs) stimulate regeneration of injured tissues by secretion of various cytokines and chemokines. Wound healing is mediated by multiple steps including inflammation, epithelialization, neoangiogenesis, and proliferation. To explore the paracrine functions of ASCs on regeneration of injured tissues, cells were treated with tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), a key inflammatory cytokine, and the effects of TNF-α-conditioned medium (CM) on tissue regeneration were determined using a rat excisional wound model. We demonstrated that TNF-α CM accelerated wound closure, angiogenesis, proliferation, and infiltration of immune cells into the cutaneous wound in vivo. To assess the role of proinflammatory cytokines IL-6 and IL-8, which are included in TNF-α CM, IL-6 and IL-8 were depleted from TNF-α CM using immunoprecipitation. Depletion of IL-6 or IL-8 largely attenuated TNF-α CM-stimulated wound closure, angiogenesis, proliferation, and infiltration of immune cells. These results suggest that TNF-α-activated ASCs accelerate cutaneous wound healing through paracrine mechanisms involving IL-6 and IL-8.
The Lipopolysaccharide from Porphyromonas gingivalis Induces Vascular Permeability

Porphyromonas gingivalis, one of the major periodontal pathogens, is implicated in the initiation and progression of periodontal disease. The initial stages of periodontal inflammation are accompanied by vascular hyperpermeability. In our present study, we report that the P. gingivalis lipopolysaccharide (LPS) increases the mRNA expression of interleukin-8 (IL-8), a major inducer of vascular permeability, in vascular endothelial cells. P. gingivalis LPS also stimulated the induction of IL-8 secretion in endothelial cells. The P. gingivalis LPS-induced expression of IL-8 was primarily modulated by nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB). P. gingivalis LPS significantly enhanced the vascular permeability both in vitro and in vivo, and a blockade of the IL-8 receptor decreased the P. gingivalis LPS-induced vascular permeability. Taken together, these results suggest that P. gingivalis LPS increases vascular permeability through the NF-κBdependent production of IL-8 in vascular endothelial cells.

In order to understand chemical characteristics and dewfall formation in western Busan area, we analysed monthly distribution of dewfall, and investigated the correlation between dewfall formation amount and meteorological factors. This study used the modified teflon plate (1m×1m) at Silla university in Busan from August 2002 to April 2003. In order to estimate qualitatively water soluble components, IC, ICP and UV methods for water soluble ions are also used respectively. Dewfall amount of sampling periods (47 day) collected 3.8 mm. Meteorological conditions for the formation of dewfall above 50 g/m² showed that temperature diurnal range(r) was 5.6℃ above, cloud amounts (1/10) at dawn of the sampling day was 7/10 below, mean wind speed at dawn (0~6hr) of the sampling day was 4.4 m/sec below, and mixing ratio at 6hr of the sampling day was 3.2 g/kg above. Distribution of water soluble ions in dewfall founded the highest concentration (206.1 μeq/ℓ for SO₄^(2-), 42.4 μeq/ℓ for NH₄^(+), 249.2 μeq/ℓ for Cat+, and 42.0 μeq/ℓ for Mg^(2+)) during the March, the lowest concentration (73.0 μeq/ℓ for SO₄^(2-), 4.6 μeq/ℓ for NH₄^(+) and 72.7μeq/ℓ for Ca^(2+)) during the August. Monthly equivalent ratio of [SO₄^(2-)]/[NO₃] showed the highest value (4.99) during the October, the lowest value (1.84) during the August, and the mean value was 3.45.

Polyacrylamides which have different molecular weight and poly (acrylamide-co-methacrylamide)s which have different composition ratio were prepared. And the interaction of these polymers with methyl orange was studied by an equilibrium dialysis method in buffer solution (pH7) at 10, 20, 30, 40℃, respectively. The first binding constants and thermodynamic parameters in the course of the binding were calculated. The favorable free energy of the binding of methyl orange seems to be a result of the entropy change rather than the enthalpy change. The binding ability of methyl orange by poly(acrylamide-co-methacrylamide) was higher than that of methyl orange by polyacrylamide. The result is likely to be due to the hydrophobic property of methyl group in copolymer. However, the binding ability of methyl orange by poly (acrylamide-co-methacrylamide) of which composition ratio was 1:1 was lower than that of methyl orange by poly(acrylamide-co-methacrylamide) of which composition ratio was 2:1. This result is likely to be due to the conformation of the polymer. The thermodynamic parameters obtained were also discussed.
.NET Compact Framework를 활용한 SOA 환경 기반의 임베디드 RFID 미들웨어 시스템 설계 및 구현

본 연구에서는 PXA255 임베디드 보드를 이용하여, Windows CE를 운영체제를 기반으로 .NET Compact Framework 플랫폼을 기반으로 동작하는 새로운 형태의 RFID 미들웨어 시스템을 설계하고 구현하였다. 제안한 임베디드 RFID 미들웨어 시스템은 RS-232를 인터페이스로 하는 다수의 RFID 센서를 LAN을 통해 제어하며, RFID 미들 웨어의 필요한 각각의 기능에 따른 컴포넌트 기반으로 설계하였다. SOA 환경에서 동작하는 애플리케이션 모듈은 임베디드 RFID 미들웨어를 통해 RFID 센서들이 감지한 데이터를 전송받아 분석하고, 이에 따라 적절한 비즈니스 로직을 수행한다. 최종 사용자가 사용하게 되는 클라이언트 모듈은 애플리케이션의 웹 메소드 호출을 통해 데이터베이스로부터 RFID 관련 정보를 이용할 수 있다. This study designed and realized a new type of RFID middle-ware based on .NET Compact Framework platform using PXA255 embedded board and Windows CE as operating system. The proposed embedded RFID middle-ware system controls via LAN a number of RFID sensors using RS-232 as interface and was designed on the basis of components of each function necessary RFID middle-ware. Application module operating in the SOA environment analyzes the data received from the RFID sensors with the embedded RFID middle-ware and in turn performs appropriate business logic. Client module to be used by end users can use RFID information in database, by web method call of application.

다단연소 사이클 로켓엔진용 산화제과잉 예연소기 연소성능 평가를 위해 점화시험을 수행하였다. 산화제과잉 예연소기는 혼합비 60, 20 ㎫의 연소압에서 작동하도록 설계되었다. 케로신과 액체산소의 일부는 혼합헤드를 통해 연소실로 공급되어 산화제과잉 환경에서 연소되며 나머지 액체산소는 연소실 중앙에 위치한 분사구를 통해 연소실에 주입되어 기화된다. 접촉발화성 연료로 별도의 점화용 분사기 없이 전체 분사기를 통해 점화용 추진제를 공급하여 점화하는 방식을 사용하였다. 안정적 점화를 위해 각각의 추진제를 2단으로 공급하여 점화할 수 있도록 하였다. 시험결과 설계유량의 45% 이하의 저유량 점화구간에서 저주파 진동이 발생하였다. 저주파 진동을 피하기 위해 저유량 구간을 최소화하는 방식으로 설계 연소압까지 안정적 점화를 유도할 수 있었다. Ignition tests of an oxidizer rich preburner for a staged combustion cycle liquid rocket engine were performed to evaluate combustion performance. Design operation conditions of the tested oxidizer rich preburner are about 60 of OF ratio and 20 ㎫ of combustion pressure. The entire kerosene and some LOx injected into the mixing head is burned in combustion chamber and the remaining LOx injected through center holes of combustion chamber is vaporized. Full flow ignition method with hypergolic fuel was used. Each propellant was supplied in two stages for soft ignition. Test results, low frequency oscillation was occurred in low flow rate conditions under 45% of design flow rate. Stable ignition in the course of design combustion pressure was able to induce by minimization of low flow rate ignition region to escape low frequency oscillation.
