Paraquat (N,N'-dimethy 1-4,4'bipyrydinium : Gramoxone^(R), a widely used herbicide, is extremely toxic to all green plants and many eukaryotic organisms. In human, paraquat intoxication leads to multiple organ failure, it preferentially damages the lung, kidney and liver and may result in death. The participation of superoxide in initiating tissue damage by administration of paraquat is well known in which one electron reduction of paraquat leads to the formation of radical species which react with molecular oxygen to give superoxide. This process initiates immunological changes with the activation of neutrophilic leukocytes, which is related to further production of superoxide. In this experiment, therapeutic effects of cyclophosphamide and dexamethasone on blood cell count, malondialdehyde as a indicator of lipid peroxidation, and antioxidant enzymes levels in the lung, liver and kidney of paraquat intoxicated rats were inbestigated. The WBC count were significantly decreased by combined treatment of cyclophosphamide and dexamethasone in paraquat intoxicated rats at 3 and 5 days but RBC count were not changed. The contents of malondialdehyde were significantly decreased in the lung and Kidney by combined treatment at 10 days after paraquat intoxication. The catalase acitvities were markedly increased in the lung and liver of rats at 10 days after paraquat intoxication, and superoxide dismutase activities showed minimal changes in the lung, liver and kidney of rats by combined treatment. These results suggest that paraquat induced tissue damage in rats can be redeced by combined administration of cyclophosphamide and dexamethasone.

최근 초고속 네트워크 인프라가 빠른 속도로 발전하고 PDA, 핸드폰 등 무선 단말의 사용이 증대됨에 따라 이들 유·무선 망을 통합하고 연동하는 다양한 응용 서비스가 대두되고 있다. 또한 기존의 가전기기들이 디지털화 되고 네트워크로 연동됨으로써 인터넷 정보가전기기로 진화되고 있다. 따라서 이들 기기들을 댁내에서 이더넷, 전력선, 전화선 및 IEEE 1394로 연결함으로써 기기들 상호 간에 데이터 전송과 공유를 가능케 하여 다양한 서비스를 제공하고자 하는 홈 네트워크의 구축이 활발히 진행되고 있다. 그리고 홈 네트워크와 초고속 네트워크 인프라를 연동하여 인터넷상에서 정보가전기기들을 제어하고 모니터링 하는 인터넷 정보가전에 관한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 효과적으로 유·무선 통신망을 결합하여 댁내·외에서 홈 네트워크로 연결된 각 정보가전기기들에 접근하고 제어하는 무선 통합 홈 서버를 설계 구축한다. 또한 정보가전기기 시뮬레이터를 만들어 실제 동작을 테스트해 본다. As there have recently been a rapid development in a supercomputer network infrastructure and an increase in the use of wireless terminals such as a PDA and cellular phone, people realize that it is highly required that they develope a various types of application services to integrate wireless network and engage them. On top of that, because current appliances are being converted into digital domestic appliances, and network and such appliances react upon each other, domestic appliances are now evolving to Internet appliances. Thus, people eager to establish a home network, which can offer a various sorts of services to customers because such appliances can share and send the data when such appliances are connected to power lines, telephone wires, and IEEE 1394. Along with this, people are also enthusiastically conducting a study on Internet Application, which monitor and control the internet appliances triggered by connecting home network and supercomputer network. This study focuses on designing and developing an integrated wireless home server by effectively integrating wire and wireless network: It can approach and control each internet appliance connected with the home network inside and outside the house. In this study we also test it with an internet appliance simulator.

고성능 마이크로프로세서에서 값 예측기는 한 명령어의 결과를 미리 예측하여 명령들 간의 데이터 종속관계를 극복하고 실행함으로써 명령어 수준 병렬성(Instruction Level Parallelism, ILP)을 향상시키는 기법이다. 본 논문에서는 ILP 프로세서 명령어 수준 병렬성의 성능향상을 위하여 값을 미리 예측하여 병렬로 이슈하고 수행하는 값 예측기를 비교 분석하여 각 테이블 갱신 시점에 따른 예측기별 평균 성능향상과 예측률 및 예측정확도를 측정하여 평가한다. 이러한 타당성을 검증하기 위해 실행구동방식 시뮬레이터를 사용하여 SPECint95 벤치마크를 시뮬레이션하여 비교한다. Value prediction in high performance micro processors is a technique that exploits Instruction Level Parallelism(ILP) by predicting the outcome of an instruction and by breaking and executing true data dependences. In this paper, the mean performance improvements by predictor according to a point of time for update of each table as well as prediction accuracy and prediction rate are measured and assessed by comparison and analysis of value predictor that issues in parallel and run by predicting value, which is for performance improvements of ILP in micro processor. For the verification of its validity the SPECint95 benchmark through the simulation is compared by making use of execution driven system.

<P>Carboxylate-functionalized polymers of intrinsic microporosity (PIMs) are promising materials for gas separation application. However, highly carboxylate-functionalized PIMs (HCPIMs) have not been reported owing to overlooked intermediate products. Herein, we successfully prepared HCPIMs (similar to 92 mol % of carboxylic acid group) through a prolonged alkaline hydrolysis process (360' h). HCPIMs were found to be soluble in various organic solvents, such as tetrahydrufuran and ditnethyl sulfoxide, and then freestanding HCPIM membranes could be prepared by the common solution casting method: The. HCPIM membranes were found to have smaller interchain distances and higher CO, affinity than original PIM-1 films. For example, small gas molecules,:such as carbon.dioxide, were effectively separated due to the, enhanced diffusivity selectivity combined with the smaller cavity size. Further, strong interactions between carbon dioxide and the carboxylic acid groups increased solubility selectivity. These:synergetic effects endowed the HCPIM membrane with a selectivity of 53.6 for CO2/N-2 separation, the highest among reported chemically modified PIMs.</P>
호염성 세균 Micrococcus sp.가 생산하는 RNase의 특성

The halophile, Micrococcus sp. which produces RNase was isolated from salted and fermented food. The optimum growth condition of the Micrococcus sp. in pH 7.0 of complex medium containing 2M NaCl, and at 35℃. Optimum condition for enzyme production by this strain was when it was grown in the CM medium . containing 2% yeast extract, 1.5% casamino acid and 2M NaCl in the initial pH 8.5 for 2 days. The maximal RNase activity was observed at pH 8.0 and 55℃. The Km value for RNA was determined to be 5㎎/㎖ by Lineweaver-Burk plot. The RNase activity in the absence of NaCl was maximum, but it. was completely lost by adding of 1.25M NaCl and it, was increased above 1.25M to 2.5M NaCl. When 2.5M NaCl was added, the activity of RNase showed 45% of maximum value.

배전 가공선로 유지보수 점검 및 순시에 적용 가능한 영상인식 기술을 적용한 추적순시장치에 대하여 설명한다. 특히, 전력설비를 대상으로 하는 고속 자동추적 촬영방법, 배전설비의 고속인식과 설비자산의 식별방법을 적용한 자동화된 영상취득 솔루션의 응용으로 인력기반의 순시, 점검 등의 설비운영 분야에 AI기술을 활용한 자율처리 가능성을 검증하였다. 본 연구에서는 차량을 통한 전력설비 순시실증 사례를 통해 주행중 배전설비 고속인식기술과 영상기반 전력설비 관리기술 적용에 대한 내용을 설명한다.
