<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>End-group cross-linked sulfonated poly(arylene ether sulfone) (SPAES) membranes were prepared using thiol capped SPAES (SH-SPAES) with different amounts of vinyl polysulfone (VPSf) as a polymeric cross-linker. The cross-linked membranes showed remarkably improved physicochemical stabilities compared to the corresponding linear SPAES membrane. Although the proton conductivity of the SPAES membrane composed of SPAES with the degree of sulfonation (DS) as 70 mol% could not be measured due to its low physical stability under the measurement condition, those of the cross-linked membranes were repeatedly evaluated due to the enhanced stability through the formation of cross-linked structures. The obtained proton conductivity values from cross-linked membranes are larger than those of the linear SPAES membrane which composed of SPAES with DS of 50 mol% having the ion exchange capacity (IEC) similar to that of the cross-linked membranes, especially at relative low humidity conditions. Furthermore, the fuel cell performance of the membrane electrode assembly (MEA) prepared with the cross-linked membrane, showing the optimized physicochemical stabilities and proton conductivity exhibited a maximum power density of 692 mW cm<SUP>−2</SUP>, which was larger than that with Nafion 212 (603 mW cm<SUP>−2</SUP>) at 80 °C under fully humidified H<SUB>2</SUB>/Air condition.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Thiol group capped highly sulfonated poly(arylene ether sulfone) and vinyl group containing poly sulfone were synthesized. </LI> <LI> End group cross-linked membranes were prepared by thiol-ene click reaction using polymeric cross-linker. </LI> <LI> Excellent physicochemical stability of end group cross-linked membranes. </LI> <LI> High proton conductivity of end group cross-linked membranes in low humidity condition. </LI> <LI> Outstanding cell performance of MEA prepared with end group cross-linked membrane. </LI> </UL> </P>

Autoimmune polyendocrine syndrome type 1 (APS-1), or autoimmune polyendocrinopathy-candidiasis-ectodermal dystrophy is a rare, autosomal recessive autoimmune disease caused by a mutation of the autoimmune regulator (AIRE) gene. The main symptom triad in APS-1 comprises chronic mucocutaneous candidiasis, adrenal insufficiency, and hypoparathyroidism. Various autoimmune diseases and ectodermal abnormalities are also commonly associated with the syndrome. The treatment of APS-1 includes hormone replacement and symptom control. It is important to monitor such patients for clinical manifestations of their disease through regular follow-up. We report the case of a 10-year-old Korean girl with APS-1 due to a novel compound heterozygous mutation of the AIRE gene. This patient's main clinical manifestations were adrenal insufficiency and chronic mucocutaneous candidiasis. The patient had a previously known pathogenic variant of c.1513delG (p.Ala505ProfsTer16), and a newly discovered variant of c.1360dupC (p.His454ProfsTer50).
Numerical analysis on thermal deformation of automobile hood made of polymer

In the automobile industry, the polymer like PP (Polypropylene), ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) and PC (Polycarbonate) is widely used in exterior and interior parts. In particular, the use of polymer is increasing to replace the steel currently used in door panel, hood and tail gate for the weight reduction of the vehicle because of the low density and high mechanical strength thanks to the compound and alloy. However, even though the polymer with these aspects is more competitive than the metal, its behavior in the thermal condition, especially at high temperature, is deformed much bigger. Through the research, we have carried out the numerical analysis of plastic hood with temperature change to clarify the thermal effects and thus in this paper, it presents the relation between the deformation and shape of structure and the optimized shape of reinforcement structure against the thermal load.

The purpose of this study is to minimize operating noise of Motor-on-Caliper (MoC) type Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) system. The acoustic radiation analysis model is developed based on the finite element method. This model is applied to derive an internal force from surface vibration by using an inverse load identification method and to predict the radiation noise by using a boundary element method. According to the experiments, gear meshing frequency for reduction gear is a main source of radiated noise. But, it is very difficult to find a reduction gear combination which can meets a low noise radiation and mechanical performance at the same time. Therefore, we focused on the exterior design to cut operating noise down by CAE technology. To verify the results from acoustic radiation analysis, an experiment was conducted under the same condition as numerical simulation, and their results were compared.

Daylighting has an considerable advantage of the high effectiveness and the various use because daylighting can use the infrared ray, the visible ray and the ultraviolet rays without energy transformation. In this study, the experiment is tried of making the shape and an arrangement of the reflector different After establishing the reflector in the height(10m) which is fixed. It's also researched on the shape of the efficient reflector using the program(Trace Pro) at the time of the autumnal equinox and the winter solstice at fixed hours.

최근 유가 상승과 건물 에너지 소비 증가는 에너지 자원 해외 의존도가 높은 우리나라에 큰 부담이 되고 있다. 이런 상황에서 에너지 소비량의 40% 수준을 차지하는 빌딩건물의 에너지절감은 매우 중요한 이슈가 되는데, 본 연구는 ICT를 활용하여 건물에너지 소비량 및 전력사용요금 절감을 하는 최적제어방법을 구현한 실증 분석을 병원을 대상으로 수행하였다. 먼저 기존의 냉난방용 흡수식 냉온수기와 급탕용 보일러시설 일부를 수축열 히트펌프로 대체하고 사용하는 요금제의 조정을 통해 에너지소비량을 줄이고 요금을 절감하였다. 여기에 환경(외기온도, 사용량 증감 등) 변화를 고려한 ICT 기반 최적제어 기능을 추가적으로 적용함으로 기존 설비 대체 중심의 에너지절감 방법과 ICT 기반의 최적제어방법까지 고려한 효과를 분석하였다. 그 결과 본 연구에서 병원 대상의 최적제어방법은 에너지효율화 설비 적용으로 인한 절감량 (53.6%)에 최적자동제어 효과(18.2%)까지 추가적으로 절감할 수 있는 것을 확인하였다. 본 연구 결과를 바탕으로 건물 에너지 절감 성과를 높이는 다양한 방안을 검토해 볼 수 있을 것이다. Increase in oil prices and building energy consumption has been a great burden for Korea which has significant energy dependence on foreign energy sources. In this context, reduction of building energy consumption, which comprises 40% of total energy consumption, is a very important issue. This research therefore empirically analyzed a hospital “P” that implemented ICT-based energy consumption and cost reduction initiative. The hospital first replaced existing water absorber for heating/cooling air and boiler for heating water with water heat storage heat pump system. This was accompanied by subscribing to different electricity price plans to maximize cost reduction. Secondly, the hospital additionally applied ICT-based optimized control algorithm that considers surrounding factors (external temperature, changes in energy demand). The analysis of these mechanisms indicate that the ICT-based energy consumption and cost reduction initiative for hospitals can reduce energy consumption by 53.6% with replacement of low-efficiency equipment and additionally by 18.2% with optimized control algorithm. The mechanisms will provide energy consumption reduction opportunities for other hospitals and buildings with high energy consumption.
